Oh my goodness, I had no idea she had no A/C in her truck, don't remember her mentioning that. That is so bad for her, she has had some troubles with her heart, this terrible heat is so bad.

I will be so glad to hear she is home or at least hits some cooler weather.

Dawn - you are such a generous person. I'm sure she and Kelly will enjoy the new to them trailer. And I hope she's taking it easy as she starts getting into the hills of Arkansas.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I have way more mother hens that I knew about!! And one boy chick mother hen too!!   Thank you so much Ladies for worrying about me. And I know that I was in your prayers too, so thank you again.

Trip home was slower than the trip out to Dawns. It might not seem that way but trust me it was slower. Trailer towed good on the way home. A little bouncier than the old one but the new one is not only lighter in weight but empty too. I found a weight on the old one that said empty that it weighed about 8,000. Heaven only knows what it weighs with all our stuff in here!!! But the new one weighs in at 6,000, so lighter indeed! There are only a couple of hills that I worry about on the trip and they are both here in TN. Truck handled them pretty good. The temp gauge crept up to warmer than I like but the truck didn't overheat so that was really good. I really like having the truck and trailer but towing a trailer can be a pain in the poop! Hate that when a tractor trailer comes up along side of me that it pulls my truck and trailer to the left, like it's trying to suck me into the "big truck". Need to keep your wits about you and not lose track of what your doing. Can't be towing like that and get sleepy. Need to be wide awake and PAY attention.

And yep, no A/C in my truck. The lines that they sent son wouldn't work. And we can't get just the small part we need. To fix my A/C we need a thing that looks like a small canister octopus with a half dozen rubber lines coming off of it. All I need is one of the rubber lines but ya have to buy the whole flipping canister. Have no idea what one costs but son said he is gonna check out a few junk yards first! But yeah it was rather a warm ride home. I am so glad that I got out of TX when I did. Would have liked to have spent another day with Dawn but the heat that was coming in out there was to much for me. Was suppose to be 105 on Friday and then between 105 and 110 on Saturday!!! It was really warm going thru AR too. Sure do wish that I had had more time tho!! I so wanted to drop down to I10 and see Vickie and all down there and then I would have went north to see Nancy and then up to see Mitch on the way home. ~sigh~ Someday it will happen.

Dawn is a super nice person and I am so grateful not only for the gift of the trailer but that I had a chance to meet and spend a little time with her. She was so welcoming and warm that there was never even a hint of an awkward moment!!! And her SIL will be my hero for quite a while now. I am so very, very grateful that he came over and took the wheels off the new trailer and after we got tires swapped at the dealership he came back over and put my newly mounted tires on the trailer!!! If it had been me doing that in that heat??? I don't even want to think about what it might have done or made me feel!!! Just sitting in the shop in the shade watching Mark do the tires had sweat rolling down my face and back!!! Maybe I was sweating in sympathy for Mark?? For sure you don't live out there without A/C!!! Her brother Paul is neat and fun to talk to and her Mom is nice. On that note, Dawn I know you don't want to be harsh with your Mom and Paul but remember of all the people in the world, your Mom knows how and which of your buttons to push!!! You will have to be firm with her. And make her do some of the work at down sizing. And her doing some of it too will in the end make her feel like she is contributing and will make her feel better too. But then of course you will have to listen to her brag!   There's lots that she can do to help without straining or over reaching her comfort zone!!!

Thank you from the very bottoms of our hearts for this gift Dawn!!! You have so improved our lives with this trailer!!!!!! Love ya!

Echo,

I sure enjoyed our visit too. It would have been wonderful to have had you stay longer, but I definitely understand the heat doing you in. I was outside around 9 this morning and the heat was already getting oppressive. Supposed to get even hotter as the week goes on. Besides, you and Kelly will have more time to get moved. I sure hope you get the site you wanted. I found another binder this morning for your TT. It is the Owner's Manual. I will get it in the mail to you this week but will need your updated address.

Looking forward to seeing you again if you can make the FL GTG.

Echo, I think we are all breathing a sigh of relief for your safe arrival home. Even though running around the country pulling or driving something is what we do, you were driving in this unbearable heat. Now if you get the Walmart job, you will really feel life's reward's abounding. We might not get to celebrate with you all together, you can bet as each of us come your way or you get to make a gtg we will all raise our glass as we get our tour. This is exciting. I have you in my prayers for the WM job.

YAY, YAY, YAY!!!!

Doing a happy dance here. CG manager is not around but tracked down one of the maintenance guys and he was on the phone with manager! We can keep site #89 where I dropped the trailer. I'm loving it! Checked on trailer and right now it is in complete shade so that will help on keeping the trailer cool.

Took Kelly to work and did a little shopping. Picked up a new water hose and another regular garden hose, plus have picked up new sewer hose and a Y for the 2 hoses. I had 2 hoses, a 25' and a 10', I'm gonna leave the 25' hose for the new people and take the 10' one with me, the new water hose is 35'. The water connection on the trailer for whatever reason is on the left and up at the front of the trailer. The maintenance guy here had a ? hose thing that you connect to a water hose and drop it down the toilet to spray water into the tank to clean it out and he let me borrow it. Need to clean out the black tank cause Paul didn't know that you need to leave the valve to the black tank closed until you dump. He had told Dawn that he had lived in a class c before and basically knew what to do. Which meant that Dawn and Chuck took him at his word and no one double checked. So after living in the trailer for 3yrs with the valve open 24/7, guess what I have???? Yep a loaded black tank. I've got deeeeeeeeep dodo! So I need to clean that out. I found out because I tried to put a bag of ice in the toilet to scrub it out but couldn't get the whole bag in. I didn't even hear anything slide down into the tank. Lil, who is gonna be our new neighbor said that her little motorhome was like that when she bought it and said she got a clear thing that attached to the outlet and sprayed water up into the tank. Said it took 4 days to clean her tank out with the water spraying. I think she might have been talking about a "Flush King"? At least that's what I'm guessing. Have no idea how long her tank had sat with the dry solid waste in it. Might take a few days!! Poor Dawn was horrified when I called her to ask her about it. She says she is gonna now make sure Paul knows that he can not do that!!! Maintenance man is also gonna let me borrow a couple of wrenches so that I can put the scissor jacks on but need to get under the trailer to see what size the bolts are. Hoping that they are there cause there are none on the new jacks.

OK, got to get going here. Need to change my shirt but my old, ratty black work t-shirt in out in the truck. Will put that on, grab my neat sheet to throw on the ground, my wood blocks so that I can get that thing leveled. Then I can hook up water and power then turn on the a/c. I just bet once it's cooled down and Kelly gets home she is gonna want to sleep in the new trailer! ;)

Yay for you, Echo! I'm glad you are starting the process of getting settled in the new trailer. I know you aren't looking forward to moving your stuff but at least you won't have far to go!!!

Echo, glad you get to keep the spot you wanted, and sounds especially good since it has shade! Here is an article about black tanks and the Geo Method of not using chemicals but using water softener and soap. Sounds cheaper and many people seem to use it.

Haven't been posting much, but I might have something to contribute for once. Several years back there was a thread about this on rv.net. Some one had bought a TT with a black tank full of petrified poop. They were able to get it cleaned out using Rid-X a product that is used for septic tanks. At the time there were several posters who said they treated their blacks tanks with Rid-X every couple months to prevent any build up in their tank. I tried to google and find that thread but can't . But if you google Rid-X and advance search RV's there are a ton of articles on it.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Glad you made it home ok. I kept checking last night hoping someone would post how you were doing.

If you can close the black tank valve, maybe put as much water in it as you can and let it set over night. Between soaking and spraying hopefully you can get it clean.

RidX, very good idea and it really works. Might not work with ONE treatment but over the course of a few treatments your tank could be
fine. Its cheap enough and you can find it in the grocery store.
