Morning all,
Mid week already! Another week is flying by. Summer always goes that way, especially in the northern states where summer lasts only so long. But on the other hand, there are a lot of peopl who probably will love to see this hot, humid summer end. Been a bit excessive in some part of the U.S. We are into our more normal summer weather pattern here now, temps in upper 70's to low 80's and very low if any humidity now. Beautiful weather actually.
Took advantage of it too, with another trip up to Mackinaw City. Really enjoyed it and hated to have to leave and head back home. It was the perfect day, hardly any cloulds, blue sky, a nice gentle cool north wind and lots of blue, blue water. I stopped at a local gas station/convenience store and got some hot dogs and cupcakes for lunch and then had myself a little picnic at the park by the bridge. Sat and watched all the action. Boats on the straits, traffic heading over the bridge, people walking around enjoying the scenery etc. The dogs had a good time too. We walked a little, then parked on a park bench and just enjoyed the day, walked again for a bit and then sat again. Lucked out this time, as two lake freighters went under the bridge. Usually I don't see but maybe one, if any, and this time I saw two. Upbound and downbound. Lots of boats out yesterday too. And of course, the girls, being collies, always attract attention, so they got their share of petting and admiring fans. And they enjoyed the cool breeze off the water too. Tessa actually fell asleep under a tree for a bit. So it was good day.
On the way home, the sky filled with smoke from a small wildfire about 25 miles north of me. The wind was blowing rom the north, so the smoke drifted down here too. It wasn't a big deal and the fire appeared to be small and contained, but it sure was smokey.
So fun time is over, back to work today. Rain moving in later on this morning, which we need badly anyway. It can rain all day for all i care.
So Echo is finally on the road to TX I hope and BarbaraRose should be starting out today too. Safe travels to both of you.
I must be off to dry my hair here, so want to wish you all a great day.
