Mini gtg in Houston

Maggie (sandersmrs) and I live at opposite ends of the greater Houston area (about 50 miles from each other). So we met in the middle and enjoyed eating sushi while getting to know one another :P It is fun to meet new people, although I feel like I knew Maggie before we met from reading so much on this forum :)

I won't tell you how often those of us in traveling in Alaska get asked where we are from. They are surprised to find that we come from different places and states. Then comes the question about how we met. :D They seem amazed.... We just smile. So glad that you could do a sit down/face time meet up. It is always fun with or without rigs!

It's always fun to meet forum sistahs face to face. I think I managed one bite of Sushi..not sure why it bothered me to eat when I'll eat my weight in oysters on the half shell.

great picture! Always fun to meet a sistah and you live so close to each other!
I'm not a sushi person though, I like stuff cooked but I have lots of friends that eat that stuff,
its very popular here. Even the grocery stores have sushi bars.

Not all sushi have raw fish ingredients. Like the one in front of me was cooked crab, avacado, cucumber, rolled in rice. another one had shrimp tempura in it. It's like a Japanese sandwich

now that one I could handle think when it's raw fish that there is a different terminology used but can't remember it now
have to agree though that raw fish isn't on the menu for me
