Wheels and tires off!

Postby Echo » Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:34 pm

Well have got the 4 wheels and tires off the TT. They and the spare wheel and tire are now in the back of the pickup. Gonna grab a change of clothes and take a shower before I leave here to go to sons. I am a sweaty, filthy dirty mess. Was gonna wait on the shower until I got to son's apartment but I stink and can't stand myself! :o

Won't have the laptop with me so will yak at ya'll sometime Wednesday eve when I get back home. Ya'll behave yourselves while I'm gone. ;)

Echo,

Your TT here is off blocks and tires are back on the ground as of today. TT has been pulled away from deck. Water pump being changed tomorrow and propane tanks being put back on front. We're all on our way. Drive careful to your son's.

Dawn and Echo - You two remind me of the shampoo commercials from years ago where two people -- man and woman, mother and little girl, didn't seem to matter -- were running toward each other in slow motion across a meadow, or a field, or whatever -- that didn't seem to matter either. LOL!! It's so fun to watch you from the outside, looking in at Texas and at Tennesee, as you each prepare to meet and exchange a wonderful gift. :) sigh... :)

Time is getting close!!!! I'm so excited for you, Echo . You've sure worked hard to get everything done before leaving for Tx. I pray your trip will be a good one and your time with Dawn fun. Just be careful driving out there , I know you're really excited but don't drive tired. Listen to me, telling a driver how to do. I do hope you have at least one night planned for a stop over. I'm remembering the trip across country you made hauling your trailer, Wow !!!

So take it easy this time and see what you are flying by ,even though you can't stop this time.

ENJOY YOUR TIME OFF WORK,

Carol :)

It for sure is getting real!! Just waiting for Tuesday to get here so that I can GO!!! Hate like fire that I have to work till close on Monday night but it is what it is. ~sigh~

I am gonna have a pillow and blanket in the truck so that when I get tired and sleepy I can pull over and take a nap. I will have my alarm along with me so that I don't sleep half a day away tho!

There hadn't better be any slow motion thing going on for the trip out and back. There's always something new to see on a road trip but going from here to Dallas is a trip I have done many, many times when I did a dedicated run from Nashville to Laredo in the 90's. There's a restaurant just south of Little Rock that is awesome. Depending on the time of day when I get thru there I just might stop in and have me a good meal. ;) :D

Dawn, you were saying that one of the tires had a bubble in it? Are there 4 tires only? Or is there a spare too? If only 4 and one is bad I will have to have the son look for a tire that I can use to put on this trailer so that I can move it. ~sigh~ Another trip to sons in the making.

Echo, don't know about a spare. You are to take all these tires after we do the switching of tires onto the rims. I talked to Jimmy today and he said for us to bring the tires in with the ones you want put on and he will have his guys switch them out for us. Of course, if there is a spare, that goes with you too. You may have to put the one with the bubble on the rims from your old TT to give to those folks. If they have to move it, maybe they would be able to afford one tire.

Cannot wait for you to get here!

Thanks. I am seriously thinking about bringing the rims for my old trailer with me too. have my tires mounted on the trailers rims and the old tires mounted on the rims for this trailer. That way it will be all done when I get back and once we have swapped everything over I will be able to move this trailer. They had thought to leave this trailer sitting here and moving to this campground. But now they are gonna put the trailer in a storage lot across the road from the campground where they are living and doing whatever work needed on it there. Tho how much work they are going to be able to do without any electric is beyond me. I guess they are thinking of ripping up the floor and putting down new vinyl. When they get everything done I guess they are thinking of living in the campground where they are now.

Only thing I am nervous about now is wondering and hoping that the wiring on the truck will match up with the trailer so that I will have turn/break lites on the trailer. I am guessing that the ball I have now on the truck will work fine for the new trailer.

Hook ups for the brake lights, etc, I think are pretty standard. If the ball is not the same size, we can go get the right one. Not to worry.

Well I'm worried about the wiring cause it was kinda pieced together between my truck and trailer out there in AZ. But the last guy that worked on the wiring use to be a RV mechanic so I have my fingers crossed that I can plug them together and be good to go for the important lights.  If nothing else I can at least hope!

Did that Jimmy mention a price for doing the swapping of tires?

No, Jimmy did not mention a price, but that is not for you to worry about. If there is any charge, I will take care of that. Quit worrying girl! We've got'cha covered.
