Wake-up !!! It's Thursday !!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wake-up !!! It's Thursday !!!

Postby Carolinagal » Thu Jul 19, 2012 6:00 am

Good morning !! Looks like rain here. Hope no storms until I am home today. I can't take Maggie with me, no Gen to run A/C. She is going to be upset enough that RV is leaving and she isn't in it, she doesn't need a storm too, to deal with.

Big news here is , there is a big bear who has been seen down by the garage of my cabin. I have a creek that runs along border of my property, this past Sunday he was thirsty I guess. This was not good news,!!!! I had hoped to go to Alaska and see lots of them NOT in my front yard :o Maggie really had her nose to the ground, she will have to be quick when out to do her business. Little bear bait!!!

Echo, you are so capable , I would never want to do some of the things you have to do. Those tires had to be so heavy, How in the world did you lift them up into your truck?? I'm wishing you a great trip to Texas and that your days off work will be really enjoyable for you. You and Dawn should have a good time. Safe travels !!!!

Must get ready to leave, Have a great day everyone !!!
Those on the road, be safe, stay cool !!!

Good Morning CArol and all,

Lost a couple of posts this morning, so will try again. Seems like they don't want to load over to the thread despite my saving to preview first. And refreashing and.....

Cool morning here and feels good. Low 70' son the forecasts this morning and heavy rain for the mid to lower part of the state. I'm enjoying this. Nice working weather. Will be warming up starting tomorrow again.

Bonnie and Rita, welcome to the forum and thanks for starting Coffee yesterday, Bonnie. Haven't had time to read the introductions to catch up with all the new folks who have joined yet.

My friend Brenda is leaving for home today, so our past month of adventuring is done for this summer. Like me, she has projects to do around her "stick and bricks" among other things, so it's time to head back. She enjoyed her stay at the park again this year and all the campers and boss want her to come back next July again. I don't have to be to work till 10 today, but am going over a little earlier to see her before she leaves. I'm sure my "fur kids" are going to be glad to have me all to themselves so I can take them out "adventuring" now.

I like Bonnie don't have time to traveling or camping right now either. Having sold my TT was a good move for me with all that I have going on this year and expenses of having some things done around my home here. My drive was just sealed yesterday (blacktop) and that cost me a small bundle. Now I am turning my attention to my deck and will be repainting that once the weather cools down again. Tessa's bout with her bladder infection has cost me some green at the vet too. I think we may finally be turning a corner I hope. She has another appt. later this month. So it was better that I backed off the RV scene for awhile.

Reading about gas well and pipeline explosions reminded me of the oil well blowout about 5 miles from here a number of years ago. Was quite something. The night sky was orange and felt like a forest fire was approaching with the waves of oranges reflecting in the sky. Sounded like jets in the distance. When the drilling rig collasped into the inferno, it really lit up the night sky from the intensity of it burning. Red Adair and his crew from TX had to be called in to extinguish it. Took a month. Any of you who may have seen the John Wayne movie "Hellfighters" will know what I mean.

Time to be off to the tub here and get ready to head for the park. Going to be a nice cool day for working. Two of our three Gators are out of commission and that's not helping things much. One comes back today and the other goes in. When it rains, it pours as the saying goes.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

After our attack by violent wind/rain/lightning/hail storms of Tuesday afternoon, we were without power, internet, and phone for most of yesterday, so it's good to be back in touch with the rest of the world today. Our temperatures fell into the low 40s last night here, and it's still just 60 out there now. Nice bright blue skies and sunshine today, and a perfect day to mow the lawn again and take a long walk on the property.

Carol, I assume you must be home again? I looked to find a post saying you made it safely, but couldn't find one yet. I hope your doc appointments are successful, and that your generator can be fixed without too much trouble. You and Maggie have had quite the trek this summer! Keep us informed about what's happening!

Nice to read some posts from some usually quiet women! Keep posting when you are able!

Sue, I sure hope Tessa will feel better soon, and that something will be found to stem that stubborn infection. By the way, what on earth are Gators? Aligators up there in the north??

Happy Thursday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

What a relief to get home last night. Had planned and warned son that I couldn't stay late up there yesterday cause I really, really wanted to be home at a decent time yesterday. I got home a little before 11pm I think? I broke down on the way home and sat for a couple of hours on the shoulder waiting for the truck to cool off enough to try driving it. Had a big ol' hole in the top radiator hose where it rubbed against the belt. Ended up backing up I 81 a little to get to a crossover so that I could head north to the closest exit. Finally made it and sat at a BP/Wendy's for a while waiting for rescue from son. He got done with work about 7:15 and came down. Took not to long at all to put a new hose on and pour some antifreeze in. I apologized to him that he had to come down. He said, "No, I apologize Mom, I think it was my fault." Huh??? Well it seems that when he did the gasket for the throttle body he pushed the hose down out of his way but forgot to pull it back up. :x I really, really couldn't say anything or even begin to chew his butt out. He has put so much time and money into my truck that I guess it was worth sitting on the side of the road waiting.I gave him a big hug and kiss and told him not to do that sort of thing again! At least I'm home but now he wants me to come back up to him so that he can drain and flush the coolant system and put the 'green' antifreeze in the truck instead of the orange stuff I use. ~sigh~ I really and truthfully don't want to make another trip to Johnson City. I'm gonna double check with him to see if this is something that I 'have' to do or if it's something 'he' wants to do just because 'he' doesn't like the orange stuff.

While up with son I of course took the wheels with me and he got the tires off the rims. YAY! I need to go out and take them out of the truck before I go to work. Carol, it wasn't the lifting of the wheels that was so bad. It was the crawling under the trailer to jack and block it up that about did me in. It was freaking hot and muggy outside Tuesday and I ended up drenched with sweat and filthy! And I stunk when I was done! I also got the license plate for the 'new' to us trailer too. As far as I know, except for maybe the flush on the coolant system I am now good to go for the trip to TX. We have got to pick up some groceries for Kelly before I leave so that she has food in the house while I'm gone. Without the fridge working she will have to buy canned stuff so I am betting that she will be glad to see me back home with the trailer that has a working fridge!!!

OK, gonna go read and catch up on what ya'll have been up to since Tuesday. Hope everyone has a super day and stays safe too.

Love to all

PS. Sure am glad to see the newbies opening up the morning coffee. Ladies ya need to check in and post more often. Come on in and join the craziness. :D

Carol, you need to quit hiding from Soos. Hope you can get some answers from your doctor and move on to getting your generator fixed.

Sue, we have something explode every few years in South Louisiana. The way we were staggering around trying to find out what happened, I hope we don't ever have a fire or tornado. One of the last rig fires was right beside I-10 along the 20 mile bridge between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. What were they thinking to let someone drill that close to the interstate. Traffic had to detour up to 190 for a week or more.

One of our Border Collies had a recurring problem with bladder infections. She ended up having a bad uterine infection and had to have a hysterectomy. I don't know if those infections were connected but she was ok after that. She had two medical problems in her life that could have killed her and she lived to be 14. That's old for a working dog.

Soos, Gators are ATV(all terrain vehicles) that have the little bed on the back. I would like to have one to haul all my stuff to the pond but you can almost get a small car for what they cost.

Need to start loading the motorhome for a trip to the lake. If I can get my son to answer his phone and make a reservation at the military campground. My niece, her husband and mother will be there for the weekend.

I am feeling nervous about my upcoming trip to MN! Once I get going, I will be OK, but thinking about it is freaking me out...
So, this morning I made my first reservations for my trip, in Big Bear! I will spend next Wednesday and Thursday up in Big Bear in a motel on the lake! Big Bear has been on my bucket list for out here, so decided to stop there on the way out of CA. Got a good deal on the place ($69 per night), it has great ratings, and Lola is welcome there. The room is rustic looking, creekside, and has a stone fireplace! Lola can stay in the room while I check out the area on Thursday.

I have a lot to do before then, tho! I will have all day Saturday, Monday and Tuesday to get it done. On Sunday, my roommate has roped me into going to church with her. After that, I am going to a Dove Chocolate Discoveries party. It is like a tupperware party, but with Dove chocolate products! Yum! I am thinking of doing parties in MN for them so will see how it goes on Sunday! If anyone can sell chocolate, I sure can! (If I don't eat it all first! )

Need to get started on a project now before heading to work later this afternoon...

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Morning,

I haven't been on here much lately. Some family matters has arisen. Last month my brother was diagnosed with leukemia. He has also battled colon cancer, prostate cancer and is battling ongoing skin cancer on his face. In fact last week they removed a huge chunk of his left side of his face. The Dr said that the meds most often given for his leukemia will give him 2 1/2 yrs, BUT there is another drug in which some patients have lasted 15 yrs. The catch is the drug and insurance companies. (isn't it always! )? The insurance won't pay for it cause it costs $5000.00 a month! The Dr was going to do his best to see if he could get that reduced in any way.

My BIL had back surgery having to do with managing pain. So far it hasn't helped. My niece (ER nurse), has a bulging disc in her neck and has been off work for almost 2 months. Her husband had cateract eye surgery and as his eyes adjust to the new lenses they are changing shape back to round and that has caused a tear and he was seeing floaters. They went in to repair the tear and he has been completely blind in that eye, although they said sight should return soon.

I've been on a couple short trip in my MH but also have been doing allot of babysitting this summer so haven't went far. I'm not complaining about that as the girls will soon be at the age where they don't need babysitting so I am enjoying them as much as I can and the MH will always be there waiting.

I'm still thinking about downsizing the MH. My first love was a Pleasure Way and I still tend to lean towards them or a rig that size. Will the market for class Bs ever come down to affordable prices?! Oh, and I got a text from my mobile RV repair guy, Josh. He asked for prayer as his wife has been ill and was getting upper and lower GI tests done yesterday. Haven't heard any results. Just a nice young man. Their families all live in Walla Walla so they aren't getting much support.

I do read your posts every day and follow the gals with blogs. Like the fact that we are getting a few more gals here in the PNW.
CArol, please let us know what the Dr says. Echo, excited for your trek to TX. You wear me out! Take care. And praying safe travels for all those on the highways and byways!

Kathleen - Take care! I have noticed that beautiful smile in your picture each time you post. Is the prescription cough syrup maybe one with codeine in it to help with the chest pain and dull the cough? Maybe the pharmacist can recommend an over-the-counter brand that would be almost as good? Anyway, certainly thinking of you.

And you, too, Lenora! We Washington Staters are too few and far between! Take care of yourself so you'll be able to take care of your family.

And BarbaraRose - I missed everything that went into your decision to leave, but when you announced it, you were so positive and excited. I don't know you, but it seems pretty natural to be feeling a couple of cold feet as the trip itself approaches. Grab back that optimism and positive outlook and hold on tight. Next week will come quickly and you'll be out there adventuring.
