Welcome Marda,

So glad you have joined. Yes there are several familiar names.

I haven't posted much yet, but all of the ladies seem very friendly and inviting.

Hi Marda, I love Arizona, I work summers at a Lodge on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. If you get up to the Cottonwood area check out my trip there. Just don't do 89A! Hope to see lots of posts from you once you get going. Are you sure the Devil isn't saying, Oh good, she's awake?

I've been to the south rim but would like to get to the north side next time I am in AZ. Maybe I will get to see you there. What's wrong with 89A?
Nah, the devil knows I'm too ornery for even him

Marda, you need to go back to Page 4 of the General talk. See the post that says, Never never drive on 89A. So far that little trip has cost me 250.00 in a brake job, not to mention the big ding I put in my truck and bashed the corner of my TT....and the nightmares!
The North Rim is entirely different from the South Rim. We are 9000 feet in elevation and in the Kaibab Forest. Not touristy at all. But then there isn't much to do. You kinda look over the edge and say, Oh yes...what now? I went from Oh Wow! to ...that damned hole in the ground. Is damned allowed?
