Moving on in Mexico

Well we are in Hermosillo Mexico at Sonora RV Park. Has 30amps and wi-fi and we can pick up our Direct TV. Can't ask for more for now. Only took 30 minutes to do our paper work and cross the border. Very nice and efficient. Got tourist cards, made copies, got car paper work done and money changed all in one area. The motorhome already had its permit from the last time we were here. At the check point the guard just put one foot inside asked where we were going and said Merry Christmas - Safe Trip.
Toll road $28 - all the way to here. Mostly divided. Only a couple of places where it was narrow and no shoulders. But those areas were well marked. Don't like passing the semis though some of them have two 53 foot trailers and it takes forever to get around them.
Tomorrow we will go on to Bahia de Kino on the Gulf of California. Probably stay there until after New Years. Will post pictures if theys till have wi fi.

Keep us posted on the conditions of the campgrounds and which one you go to. We usually go to San Carlos to the El Mirador, heard the Restaurant there has closed and the park is starting to go downhill which is a shame because it was a 5 star campground and the nicest one in Mexico. That will give more business to the Totonaka RV Park in San Carlos.

Chapter #8 The Mexican Connection with the Escapees is going to Guaymas in Feb. Dan is itching to go back in 2010 somewhere in Mexico and be in charge of the parking committee with Chapter #8.

Well today we go to Bahia de Kino on the Gulf of California - stayed there in 2007 - There are several RV parks there but we'll be staying at Kino Bay RV. Will post more about it after we get there. Kino is a very small fishing village - there is old Kino and new Kino - new Kino is mostly geared to tourists - mostly folks from Hermosillo during the summer and holidays and to us gringos during the winter. Last time we were there most of the gringos had already gone home - so will see how it is this time.
this is what I wrote about it last time we were here http://www.movingon1.com/2ndcrossing.php

Beautiful pictures once you got there...wouldn't like the traffic to get there though.
