Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's wee early Tuesday Morn!

Postby Barbzeee » Tue Jul 17, 2012 5:00 am

Yeppers it's wee early Tuesday Morn. My crew is still sleeping and hubby fell out on the couch and I didn't want to wake him..so here I sit typing with the glow of the I pad. ....wonder if I will get glow burn????

Today is a nothing day plan other than sit by and wait for the phone to ring. Almost like waiting for a new arrival.

While we were at the r v dealer yesterday one of the sales people came out and said to hubby, Hey, I can make you a real god deal, on your rig". At that time hubby's eyes lit up. And he replied as he was thinking about the costs we were about to "inherrit". "not me, that wild woman in the rig". Well you'd have to understand my hubby's humor. ( I hope). Yes I was wild and crazy after all of us being cooked. ,

The salesman had a really nice looking Lexington. Only problem it was to small for us. But was a great deal offer. Someday I will down size but not at this time...but soon.

Well critters are stirring with no mice in sight. My day will be starting too.

Sharon safe travels to you!

Dawn , hope your mad rushes will go smoothly. Wish I was there to help. But you are in my prayers

Lori and Ernie enjoy your adventures.

Sharlotte we have to play catch up

Lenora, you too we have to do another face time chat that was so awesome

Echo, make sure you have plenty of windex for that glass globe. LOL. All bright and shinny

Ali, I hope that eye infection has eased up.

To all that I've missed may your days be great ones.

Ah the lights are on their is life amongst me. Thank goodness

God Bless.

Zeee is now able to see where she's heading. Hahahaha

Good morning !!!! Or I hope it will be. It seems if you have a diseasel gen., not everyone can work on them. I am at the 2nd place and supposedly thats all this shop works on, we will see. It is so hot , so Maggie and I, found the only CG, which is a gravel parking lot, not a tree in sight, plugged the electric in and turned the t.v. on and vegetated yesterday afternoon. Monday being a bad day, today they should be able to get me in. I hope. Not anxious to get home, but the heat is terrible and getting home and ramming the A/C up sounds wonderful  I won't do that but do need to be getting in to see my Dr. my feet and legs are swelling terrible, and never having had this problem, its really worrisome to me.

I had planned to do some of the Natchz Trace, but no Gen., no trace, sooooo disappointed, thats one of my favorite places and the Blue Ridge. Hopefully I can get up and do some of the Blue ridge later on.

Really no news, my brain has zeroed in on this awful heat and can't get to much beyond that, I don't deal well with the heat at any time, but right now its not that good for me, health wise with meds etc. and as I have been told several times through the past months, I am not a young chick, said more delicately, but that was the jest of it. When you don't feel up to par, don't you just love to have someone remind you of your age? :(

I know this sounds like things are not to well with me, but it is, they either fix the Gen, or they don't, I will just go home after this place and deal with the dr. stuff and then find another place for fixing the Gen. It will all work out and I didn't mean to sound down here, I am not, except I can't do the Trace :(

I hope you all have a great day, hope that call comes soon for you Zeee, thanks for passing Murphy, , just had to say that   Those traveling, stay safe and enjoy the scenic wonders of our country, they are everywhere. I never realized northern Al. was so beautiful, the very western part. Its gorgeous up here.

Those de stuffing their house, take care and don't get overheated. I should have been on the forum yesterday and found out what is happening with everyone, thought I would have time at home, so enjoyed the old shows on t.v , haven't seen t.v. for months, so was a treat and laying propped up on the bed, was absolutely sinful  Even Maggie, joined me, it was great !!

Have a great day everyone, have fun and enjoy, but do stay safe, on the roads and from the heat.

Good Morning,

Time I chimed in here too. Busy has been the word around here.

Weather has been hot here the past couple of days too. Fortunately we had some heavy rains on Saturday into Sunday morning as well, and that is helping to keep us going around here. Today is supposed to be in low 80's in the northern lower and U.P. Unfortunately the folks in central and lower MI are in for some extreme heat levels today.

Think it will be good day for my friend Brenda and I to head north to Mackinaw or into the U.P. for a bit. She leaves this coming Thursday to return home after 4 weeks of camp hosting. Don't know when we will see each other again.

I will be taking Tessa to the vet for some tests today as the bladder infection has been very stubborn and refuses to leave despite another round of a different antibiotic. Will know more after we are finished today, if she is heading for kidney problems or whatever. Hope not. Took both dogs to Burt Lake State Park yesterday just for a ride in A/C. And since there is a dog beach at the park, Tessa headed for the lake of course. I even waded in with her and splashed water all over her till she was soaking wet. She loved it. Did the same for Sassy although I had to get her in the water first as she's not a water dog. Think I a sigh of contentment on the way home later on as they were still a little damp and with the A/C on, they were in dog heaven.

Still trying to catch up on the forum here but sounds like everybody's in the same boat. Thanks for starting the coffee this morning Barb. Dawn, hope you get all you final packing done and get that MH soon, so you can start off on your dream. Lori and Ernie, have fun on your trip west and enjoy "Shipsy" as the local call it. The AK group are still seeing some wonderful sights. What a trip to remember. Home won't be the same after that. CArol, hope that gen gets fixed and you get home to see what's going on with your legs and feet. Could be the current meds you are on too. The Trace will be there and perhaps enjoyed more in cooler weather.

Must get along here. Got to get a "P" sample from Tessa and get myself dressed and ready to leave shortly. Have a great day all. See you later.

Barb, just sit back and enjoy your "camping". Tell Murphy to take a hike! Hopefully you will get your call today and can be back on the road headed home again tomorrow.

CArol, be sure and take care of yourself. I don't like the sounds of that swollen foot and leg. Have you ever had blood clots? Mom does and we have to pay attention to swelling in her legs and feet. Don't feel bad, none of us are young chicks any more. I believe we are all young at heart, though!

Sure nothing serious is going on with Tessa!

Going to Colleyville again today to find MH for Paul. Cannot believe we drove all the way over there yesterday and they were closed. Told Mom and Paul we needed to start calling first. Hopefully he will be in the one he likes today and we can start the moving out into the MH's for real. He is so excited!

Got to run. Today is the first of many running days. Will try to catch up on everyone at night! Have a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Carol, I will be very glad when you get back to your own docs and then can get your generator fixed in order to be able to cool off. In the meantime, keep those legs raised a bit as often as you can. I realize you can't lie on your back to drive, however!

It sounds as if the heat has not let up anywhere for anybody, other than right here in my own back yard once again.

Oh how I have missed you all, although we had such a fantastic time at the Basin Bluegrass Festival this past week. That was an intelligently run and organized music festival, and I have never seen as many RVs in one spot as there before in my life....not even at an RV show. Many of the atendees as well as the performers were of the geezer age, and as talented as musicians as I have ever listened to. The field pickin' in the nights, mostly until dawn, around the various campsites (all boondocking) showed talents some of which were even better and more skilled as the pros they hired for the stage shows.

I camped between Jack from NH and Richard (the roofer) and a friend of Jack's, Sue, whom I had met at other festivals and here at my GTG. We had a super "gathering" place under both my and Jack's awnings, which provided shade and a wind tunnel effect that felt so welcome in the blazing hot sunny days. The temps were at least high 90s each day, and in the triple digits in the sun. It was the steady breezes that managed to make things bearable. We had no rain whatsoever until the last note of Smokey Green's final gig which was the closing of the festival. Then we had a gentle rain on and off throughout the afternoon and evening which cooled things very little, actually. There were many others at the place whom I had met in years gone by that it was fun to see once again, too.

The hosts provided ample porta potties, water-filling hoses for jugs, and free hot showers! There is a dirt road up a mountian near where we set up that was a cool, albeit bugy, place to walk the dogs, wth a fast-running spring/brook up there to cool off in. All in all, I intend to return next year now that I have almost learned the complicated route through former cow pastures of Vermont! I only got lost once on the way there, and once on the way back!

I got back here to temps in the 70s and 80s which felt like air conditioning, and today it is 70 here and raining gently----a very welcome rain as we are super dry like so many other places. I am geting faster at hitching and stowing for trips, and am not half so petrified of getting stuck in places where I can't turn around!

Unfortunately, I took only about three pictures, which I will download and post when I finish getting caught up with the week's happenings on here and wading through some 16 pages of email. I never thought of picking up my camera until most RVs had pulled out yesterday, changing our "neighborhood" instantly! I never got a picture of the myriads of rigs from up the hill looking down as I always had the dogs and no camera. A small group of us stayed an extra night, ate a pot-luck supper, sat under the awnings in the gentle rain and enjoyed the quiet and good conversation. All in all, it was a super fun time!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning all, lots of people up and about early. Carol, I don't like the sound of that foot and leg swelling. If you have to stop and get checked before you get home doso, even tho i know you don;t want to. That's one thing that scares me, illness out on the road. When all this is done, we'll plan something. I want to do a lot more traveling come fall and winter in Fla. Kind of tied up for the summer. It has cooled off a good bit here in Ala. Dawn, I already lectured you about pacing yourself. Looking forward to meeting in Fla or Texas. Everyone have a good safe and FUN day! Wendy

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Have been up for about an hour and have not done a blasted thing yet. Waiting for Kelly to go to work before I crawl under the trailer and attempt to jack this thing up and get it set on the jack stands. I don't really want her in here moving around while I'm jacking it up. Son had planned on coming down to do it but the landlord sprung some extra work on him to do cause he needs an apartment fixed up for new renters to move into. Poor son is torn wanting to help me and needing to work for landlord and his regular full time job. He is so stressed out at the thought of me doing the trailer he was really after me to find some help. I tried to convince him that it would be OK and not to worry. All in all there really isn't anyone here that I can get some help from. The maintenance guys all have their own jobs to do and so does Kelly. Oh well. With all the freaking rain we've been having not to even mention the heat I have not gotten to pull the wheels off but it has got to be done today so that I can get up to sons and he can break the tires down and work on the truck today and tomorrow. Campground manager told me what spot he is gonna put us in with the new TT but I am gonna see if we can get a different one. His spot in right smack in the middle of every one and rather jammed so there's not much room at all. There are a couple of other spots that are open so I am gonna talk to him about them. They are towards the end of the row and have more room and shade trees. Plus they are closer to where son would camp when he comes down.

I am so looking forward to next week!!! My schedule at work kinda sucks this coming week. I am working 1 to close every single day. Thursday and Friday I am working the line and then 3 days of dishes! YUCK!!! Then I have off so that I can go to Dawn's and pick up the trailer. OH, I am so gonna enjoy the days off. When I get home I will put in my app at WalMart.

Boy oh boy, not only does it seem that people are having fridge problems but generator problems too. What next??? :?

Barb, sure hope you get fixed up and headed home. I guess your Murphy side of the family has more relatives than you knew about. And they like RV'ing too.

Carol, hope you get fixed up too and back on the road to home. You will have to kick Murphy's cousin out the door and tell him to get lost!

Sue, my heart goes out to Tessa and you. Gonna seem quiet and strange when Brenda leaves. Hopefully it wont be to long before you see again.

Dawn, sounds like your gonna be busier than that cat!! Sure got my fingers crossed that you and Paul get them MH's!! Sounds like your Mom is really motivated to get packed and around and to Branson. Just be sure to keep reminding her that the sooner everything is done the sooner she can ride the Duck! :D

Soos, the sound of satisfaction and contentment sure comes thru your post. Sounds like an awesome time was had. And yeah the more practice you get the better, easier and less stressful it all gets.

OK gonna go read. Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe! You are all in my prayers.

Love to all

Carol, I'm with Wendy could you find a walk in clinic and see about the swelling? If your legs are swelling too I would check it out now and maybe they could give you something so you could enjoy the Trace.
Soos I am glad you had such an enjoyable week, sounds like in spite of the heat it was an trip you will remember a long time. Sue sure hop the vet can help Tessa. I know you will hate to see your friend leave. I've had so many friends move away after they retired and it is difficult to meet people when you are older. I did start going church but after 5 years most people are just now acknowledging me as someone they recognize! I have to laugh as they are always talking about how important it is to greet new people and make them feel welcome. Oh and this isn't a really large congregation, we have maybe 75 people there most Sundays. It is a Unitarian maybe they are just more reserved.
I feel for those who are working to finish moving and those having problems with generators and refrigerators etc. in this heat. I vacuumed one room this morning and that was all I could do. Even though the A/C works really well when it gets really hot and humid I don't feel like doing much even inside. So guess the dust in the rest of the house will wait. I did the room I'm in most first :D

I have been up for 3 hours and haven't done anything except make coffee. The sun is shining and I was wondering where the rain was. Well it's now raining and the sun is shinning???? Must be a shower just over our house.

CArol, good thing to know about diesel generators, that they can only be worked on in a few places. I have a hard time getting a gas generator worked on here. Take it easy with that swelling and keep you feet up when you can. Someone told my sister to eat grapes and drink grape juice for that but she has a lot of funny ideas. ;)

Soos, your trip sounds like a lot of fun.

I've been trying to get caught up with all I missed while I was gone and just realized I didn't post this morning. We are getting more rain this week - not as much as Red got on the other side of town last week, but my grass is almost halfway to my knees. I'm sure the mosquitoes will be out in full force soon.

Sue - we had that storm Saturday night in Charlevoix. We had taken one of the dining chairs out onto the balcony Saturday as there weren't enough outside chairs and forgot to bring it in... oops! I did enjoy my stay at the Top of the Mitt!

I came home from work last night and read - it was such a treat that it was not an accounting book! I really do need to do some housework, laundry and a trip to the grocery store and start getting back to the land of the living!
