Have To Finish Before 15th

Postby Dawn309 » Mon Jul 16, 2012 6:14 pm

I know what my time frame for getting moved out of my house is now. Matt is back from Europe and he called this afternoon. He said his loan to buy my place has already been approved. We will be closing after August 3rd and he will get my motorhome money ASAP. We discussed that he is the holdup on me getting moved out.  Found out he also has business flipping houses. He is sending his crew from that business and they are going to add a bedroom, remodel my kitchen, take out the carpet and repaint the whole house. He told me he figured he had better tell me all that because he said he did not want me worrying about painting and shampooing carpets, etc. He said he knew Inwould be planning to do that as soon as I had the house emptied out and he wanted to make sure I did not worry about any of that.

The contractor needs 3 weeks to get all that done and the guy leasing the house needs to move in by the 25th of August. I told him I could work around the contractor if he could work around me packing. Told him I needed the MH to move my stuff into. Looks like there is going to be a bunch happening around here pretty quick now.

That's just like a man...he could have given you more warning and the money to get the mh. I know he's a nice man but don't let him run over you. Try not to let this kind of pressure make you ill...that is the last thing you need.

Dawn - Are you pleased with this new time frame? I agree with Traveliana. Hope all works out for you. Enjoy your new MH!!

I am OK with it. I can rest when we get on the road. I work better under pressure. Matt said he can work with me about the time, so if it can't get done by then, he has no problem with me still being hooked up in the MH. I don't want to let Mom and Paul know that or we will never get done. I set the drop dead date with him based on what he needs to get done too. I can load the bed of the truck every day beginning on Wednesday to start taking all the boxes to Darla instead of waiting on them to bring a trailer on the weekends. On the weekends, they can start taking the furniture. I can pack all day and then unload in the evening at Darla's. I think emotionally this is the best thing for me. No time to think.

Wow!! You have a lot on your plate. Try to not stress and get sick. This is the time to call any favors from friends to come help. If I wasn't so far away, I'd be there. Hang in there !!

I'm concerned too you are going to work yourself into being sick. With packing all day and unpacking all night. Slow down if you need to, even for a day. It will still work out. Easy for us to give advice! Wendy

I have to agree do that much and you are going to have more of a chance to get sick
either call in favors or else get boxes tag them and get some teens to move them kids are always looking for money
just be selective maybe talk to some one at church and see who they would recommend or perhaps there is someone at church
that is in need of a bit extra that would be willing to come help...by not hiring a moving company it would be cheaper but you wouldn't
have the carrying all that heavy weight.

You are right Wendy and Sheila. If I need to take a day, I will. But like Chuck always said, I've got a lot of grit. I can push through a lot. I will see if I can recruit the kids and grandkids. They all work, though, so weekends are when they'll be able to help. I took a good look at what's left here and at Mom's and I think it's doable. I know Mark is anxious to clear out the garage, so I am going to tell him to have at it. He's been trying to just load boxes and furniture for me. He may be able to recruit some help too. This is one of those times I wish we'd had sons as well as daughters.

Just let the dogs out the front door. That is something I am going to miss. Just open the door and out they go! Then they come back in the doggy door. Mom has bought a nice dog pen. It's good sized so they will have a little yard wherever we are. I don't guess it's everybody that's going to be traveling with 6 dogs!

Dawn - I'm going to let the others worry about you getting sick. My reaction was, "Wow! This is getting exciting!" Maybe I'll need a pep talk when it's my turn down the road. ;)

Dawn, now we know the meaning of encumbrances :o It was so much fun when we purchased tho. Go slow and compartmentalize but I think you have been doing this. Isn't it interesting how the female gender differs. My mother didn't have a handy bone in her body. I had an older brother and the two of us fixed things around the house.
