So glad to welcome you Leslie. Yes, you will find we are a very diverse group, some married, some of us single, part and full timing, with and without pets but we all share a love of America and a yearning to see it. We share our experiences, ask questions and that means any question. I am another one of the downsizers, currently getting my home ready to sell so I can live in my RV fulltime. I will homebase on my son's property and travel about half the year. I own a pet store and aquarium rental business but have a partner to physically run it. I manage the books and make sales calls.

Hi Leslie from Southern Oregon. I am one of the ladies who is "de-stuffing", but I am not giving up my Sticks and Bricks just working towards being a "minimalist". I travel for many months of the year on job contracts and they are usually 8-13 weeks and live in my Motorhome during this time. NOW I am getting ready to do some "camping", as there is a huge difference to me from living in the MH and camping in it. I am leaving for the coast this weekend, I need to get cooler, it is HOT here right now. I wont be going back to work until October.

Welcome from Arizona :D
I'm solo but still working so no road trips for me just yet. But have done many a road trip by myself over the years, except I did
have the dogs with me. Sometime just one but sometimes all three. I miss those days but I'll be on the road again in a year or so.

Welcome, Leslie. I bet Michigan has state parks. You can Google them to find good ones for you to camp in. I try to use state parks as they are cheaper and secure. Hope to meet ya one day.

Welcome Leslie! I'm from TX but was just in MI this past week. And I can vouch for some of your state parks. I visited several while I was up there, even though I wasn't camping. I was at Petoskey and Traverse City and Northport parks.

Hi Leslie,

Sorry it's taking me so long to get to your intro, but I'm in MI too. Living just south of Gaylord, way up north here. Welcome to the forum and especially a hearty welcome to a fellow Michigander or Michiganian, whichever you prefer.

Hope you will find time to get out and do some camping with that truck and camper when you can and if you ever decide to head "up north", I work at Otsego Lake State Park here. Look me up. Get yourself a reservation and come on up.

Hi, I was born in Detroit and lived all my life in the area until just recently. I sold my condo and moved out on June 16, so I am one of the de-stuffers who finally accomplished my task and took off full-timing in my new motorhome. Except I still have a 10 x 20 foot storage locker in Ohio full of stuff. A lot of it is family stuff, but I kept most of my furniture in case I got sick or had medical problems that would prevent me from continuing to live in my motorhome.

I am in Nevada right now heading west to visit my son in California. Glad to have another person from Michigan online, other than Sue and me.
