Good Morning Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Wednesday

Postby Redwahine » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:26 am

Good morning all. Can't believe I'm the frost one here. Been up for awhile. It's been pouring rain all night and no gigns of it stopping. Power is going in and out. With first light I could see that the pool overflowed and water is up to the sliding glass door and the front door. Our house looks like an island surrounded by a lake. I think I'm gonna inflate my kayak just in case. :D :o Hope everyone else is staying well, cool and safe. Aloha

Very foggy here this morning. The cycle continues: low 80s through most of the day and then thunder storms through the afternoon and early evening and then repeat. We really needed the rain here and I think my asthma is glad to have a break in the heat. Today is laundry day for me. Trying to get things cleaned up really well. I have added an air purifier to my home and I think that has also helped with my breathing. So guess I'll get some more housework done before the next storm. Stay safe ladies.

Good Morning Wednesday

What! It's almost 8:30 a.m. here. Where's the early risers this morning? Everybody sleeping in I suppose or off to work for those of us who must still do that. Course Soos is up in VT at the Bluegrass concert and she is usually one of the early risers.
But then, since I am not starting work today till 10 a.m., I too probably wouldn't be on here either.

Been busy the past few days with work, personal stuff, vet visit for Tessa, a short afternoon day trip with my friend before she headed back home for a funeral. Will be back later this evening for one more week at the the park, camp hosting. I also went and visited with another friend yesterday afternoon. I always enjoy those visits as we can have those serious heart to heart talks and sometimes one needs those. She's busy destuffing at her place too after a number of years of looking at packed boxes from her last move that she hasn't used since. Looks like the ear of "destuffing" is on. Seems everybody's doing it.

Tessa has a bladder infection that is being stubborn and the vet put her on a different antibiotic for two weeks. Have a follow up appt. again next week. Some of her ph and other levels are lower than should be. He seems to think that there may be a kidney problem looming, but won't know for sure till next weeks results. Will have to wait and see. Her father died of complications from an infection, so looks like daughter may be following in his footsteps or perhaps i should say pawsteps.

I've got a lot on my plate right now too with work and keeping things up around here. With all the bumming around we have been doing, I'm a bit behind in my yard work, but nothing big time. Was way too hot to do any too. And my neighbor across the road has been waiting for about a year for a donor to appear so she can have a lung transplant. It happened early Friday morning, so she is now downstate at U of M hospital with a set of new lungs and we are all hoping she doesn't reject them. So far seems to be so good as I haven't heard anything lately. In the meantime I am watering their outdoor plants and will also cut the neighbors grass next door, as he was doing that too. So in all actuality, I am caring for 3 places to a point right now. Whew!

Park has been busy too with the hot and then warm summer weather we have been having. Campers are coming and going. Few more weeks and it will start to slow down as school sports seasons and practices get underway. Big doing at the park this coming Saturday. One of our staff members is a country singer and performs up here at our county fair some years and does local venues around different places. He has also opend for some big name Nashville stars who have been up here for a concert or whatever, including Tommy Cash. He wanted to put on a concert for the campers and it's going to happen this coming Saturday night, so we will be out enjoying some music and having fun. Although sound equpment is not allowed in the State Parkks, as long as we advertise it heavily to the campers, we can go ahead with it and it's going to be held on the camphost site with the equipment facing toward the lake, so it will not blare into the campground. We have a big grassy drainfield behind that site and a great place for people to sit and listen. From what I have heard so far, the campers are excited about it.

So.... guess I will be off and running here. Have some time to check out some of the threads and see whats going on. I want to extend a Welcome to all the new people who have come in to the group too. Glad to have you all. Will catch up on your introductions eventually. In the meantime, enjoy this lovely group, chime in, ask questions, vent, cry. laugh, make comments etc. In other words, make yourself at home. Have a great day all.

Good Morning everyone

Had a great July 4th weekend. My friend Laura (CougarFan) came down for the holidays and we had a great time. We went over to the coast Gold Beach on Thursday and had the best Fish and Chips from a little roadside stand in the harbor as we had the 2 dogs with us and the sun was too hot to leave them in the car. So we sat outside in the sunshine with a gentle breeze and ate the best homemade french fries and fish I have had in a long time.

On Friday Laura put up my outside blinds (which required alot of drilling and screwing into metal) which really helped deflect the sun off my place as it is getting way hot here. We also went and kicked around some RV lots (one of our favorite things to do hee hee). Then topped it off with a great Hellgate Jet Boat Dinner cruise on Sunday. Food was great and it was super hot out so all the spray from the spins in the boat (for fun) felt sooo good as we were drenched when we got to the dinner area. They take you by boat up to their OK Corral dinner place and it is family style, BBQ ribs, chicken, salad, bread, dessert. Was so worth it. Then you get back to the dock and they have these pics ready for you. Laura and I are in the 5th row on the right of your screen with our rain hats securely in place.

I get my Motorhome out of the shop today so will be glad to see what the "ransom" will be, hope I do not need CPR Had to replace the converter and a few "other" boards. They are going to check out my braking system also this morning so will need to get up there before it gets too hot. Then I can start loading the MH and taking off for cooler weather and do some CAMPING.

Good Morning everyone... nice sunny day and warm here in Lansing... My granddaughter her husband and Sarah came yesterday... oh Ameera is getting big today is the gestational end of her time buttttt she may go a bit longer who knows... she was in the hospital for 5 hours on Monday with labor... most of us know that long long period and hoping it is the day!
Sarah greatgranddaughter can swim... she is taking lessons from the lady that simply throws the child in the pool if they scream she does it again... she dunks their head in the water... she guarantees they will be able to swim across the pool by the end of the week... her main goal is to make them water safe... Sarah loves the water... she can swim the length of the pool deep end to shallow and also across the deep end... great thing... I think the throwing the child in the pool when they are screaming shows them they can even in a panic situation get to safety... they must swim with their heads down in the water... my children all had swimming lessons when they were young... very important thing for all...
Today is my dentist day... not looking forward to it...
So good to see many are having fun and traveling thinking of Carol and her trek... everyone drive safe and enjoy the day...

GOOD AFTERNOON SISTAHS!!!

I totally missed the morning on here. I set the alarm last night for all the good it did. I shut it off this morning and went back to sleep. Good Grief! I slept in until almost 11am. I must have needed the extra sleep but really hate sleeping in that late plus it's gonna screw me up for going to bed tonight. I open tomorrow and have to be on the clock at 7am.

It's raining here today. It woke me up sometime during the night with the big fat raindrops on the roof. Haven't heard a peep out of the repair guy and with this rain I doubt very much if I will. So that will be another week without the fridge. The temp here is good enough that we actually have the a/c off for now tho I might turn it on for just a little while as it's getting a little warm in here.

Nothing much planned for today except for laundry and that of course is a weekly thing. I hate going to the laundromat. My most hated chores are grocery shopping and going to the laundromat. Doing laundry at 'home' doesn't bother me at all so it's just the laundromat is the hated part. :(

OK, off to read and catch up. Hope ya'll have a great day and stay as safe as ya can.

Love to all
