What! It's almost 8:30 a.m. here. Where's the early risers this morning? Everybody sleeping in I suppose or off to work for those of us who must still do that. Course Soos is up in VT at the Bluegrass concert and she is usually one of the early risers.
But then, since I am not starting work today till 10 a.m., I too probably wouldn't be on here either.
Been busy the past few days with work, personal stuff, vet visit for Tessa, a short afternoon day trip with my friend before she headed back home for a funeral. Will be back later this evening for one more week at the the park, camp hosting. I also went and visited with another friend yesterday afternoon. I always enjoy those visits as we can have those serious heart to heart talks and sometimes one needs those. She's busy destuffing at her place too after a number of years of looking at packed boxes from her last move that she hasn't used since. Looks like the ear of "destuffing" is on. Seems everybody's doing it.
Tessa has a bladder infection that is being stubborn and the vet put her on a different antibiotic for two weeks. Have a follow up appt. again next week. Some of her ph and other levels are lower than should be. He seems to think that there may be a kidney problem looming, but won't know for sure till next weeks results. Will have to wait and see. Her father died of complications from an infection, so looks like daughter may be following in his footsteps or perhaps i should say pawsteps.
I've got a lot on my plate right now too with work and keeping things up around here. With all the bumming around we have been doing, I'm a bit behind in my yard work, but nothing big time. Was way too hot to do any too. And my neighbor across the road has been waiting for about a year for a donor to appear so she can have a lung transplant. It happened early Friday morning, so she is now downstate at U of M hospital with a set of new lungs and we are all hoping she doesn't reject them. So far seems to be so good as I haven't heard anything lately. In the meantime I am watering their outdoor plants and will also cut the neighbors grass next door, as he was doing that too. So in all actuality, I am caring for 3 places to a point right now. Whew!
Park has been busy too with the hot and then warm summer weather we have been having. Campers are coming and going. Few more weeks and it will start to slow down as school sports seasons and practices get underway. Big doing at the park this coming Saturday. One of our staff members is a country singer and performs up here at our county fair some years and does local venues around different places. He has also opend for some big name Nashville stars who have been up here for a concert or whatever, including Tommy Cash. He wanted to put on a concert for the campers and it's going to happen this coming Saturday night, so we will be out enjoying some music and having fun. Although sound equpment is not allowed in the State Parkks, as long as we advertise it heavily to the campers, we can go ahead with it and it's going to be held on the camphost site with the equipment facing toward the lake, so it will not blare into the campground. We have a big grassy drainfield behind that site and a great place for people to sit and listen. From what I have heard so far, the campers are excited about it.
So.... guess I will be off and running here. Have some time to check out some of the threads and see whats going on. I want to extend a Welcome to all the new people who have come in to the group too. Glad to have you all. Will catch up on your introductions eventually. In the meantime, enjoy this lovely group, chime in, ask questions, vent, cry. laugh, make comments etc. In other words, make yourself at home. Have a great day all.
