Im on 2nd day of trip and can't get fridge to get cold on any setting. Any tips I can do or check before fond RV SVC CRT tomorrow

I sure have no suggestions!!! I'm going on a week with out our fridge.

If the fridge is running and the freezer is freezing? Then it just might take more time for the fridge. Ours did that to us too. Took a little over 2 days to cooled back off after screwing around with it thinking it had died on us then.

I have waited all freaking day long for the mobile repair guy to call and haven't heard a peep. NOT happy!!! :x :x Need to drain the water out of the cooler and buy more ice tonight.

in the check list would be a note to switch the refreg over to gas or to electricity have you done that?
do you have a cooler? put everything into it that needs to go and see if it's just not cooling fast enough due to heat outside
maybe put a block of ice in freezer and see if it helps cool it off...not sure what to suggest these are just random ones at this time in days gone by
would call 'upstairs' and ask dh and he would suggest something or think about it and then suggest something....when was the last time you know it worked? do you store it for the winter and this is it's first trip out? seems like you've been somewhere...but if it worked then that might help you think of something

My only thought is the slide adjuster on the fins in the back of the fridge...could it have gotten slid to where it isn't cool enough? Or maybe a block in the gas line, but that shouldn't affect the electric side of things. Hope you get it resolved without having to spend lots of $$.

Is it getting electricity at all? I have a ground fault outlet that gets tripped sometimes and my refrigerator won't work until I reset it. That's about the limit of my troubleshooting.

It is getting power cause light works and display. I did move all foods that might spoil to coOlers. Will try to find repair shop in am. Not too far from Kansas city so should be able to find place. Anybody know one in vicinity

Have you tried it on gas? Might work on that but not electric. I needed to replace the thermocoupler once when mine wasn't working. That, luckily was a cheap and easy fix - however, it depends on the rv service people how cheap it is. Good luck.

What was wrong and how much did it cost???? I am having fridge trouble too. Would like an idea of problem and cost for comparision if I ever hear from the repair guy!!!

Always love a good ending...Do we have a list somewhere of those to call and those to avoid. I think I let all the info go with Destiny but I had a great one in Nashville. He worked all day looking for a wiring problem and only charged me for 3 hours. I'll find it and put it up as soon as I know about the list.

Okay, here's the long version. Earlier post was from my iphone, just so you ladies wouldn't worry. I had googled RV repair Kansas City but you never know who is good or bad from them. Imagined all kinds of scenarios all night, mostly involving me having to park in KC for days on end waiting on parts from Timbuktu :) I woke up this morning and remembered that I am a member of Good Sam and maybe they could give me some recommendations so called them and lady gave me a list. Called first one PREMIER COACH SERVICES. At first, they told me that their waiting list is 3 1/2 weeks. So I told my sob story and he said if they bumped me above the others I would have to pay for 2 hours of a tech's time, no matter how long it took. I asked how much per hour, I think something like $112.50(why an odd amount, who knows?) I agreed, he gave me an address because he never heard of where I was. Took about 90 minutes to get there. They were AWESOME!!!! The girls in the office were as friendly as could be, they loved Eddie, offered me cold water and insisted I bring Ed inside while I waited. About an hour later, my service tech, Dexter, (yes, that is his real name, ain't it cool?) came out and I assumed he would have bad news for me. He said "You're good to go." I didn't believe him at first then jumped up to hug him. I think he was a little embarrassed the old lady was hugging him. :) It had some kind of error code that needed to be re-set and they had done so. Then they were letting it start cooling so I could see that it was fixed! They think it may have come from a low voltage kind of thing, but not sure about that. I have an extended warranty that covers parts but no part was needed, plus I think there is a $250 deductible and get this, by total bill was $245!!! I was ecstatic to pay that and be on my way west. Incidentally, they climbed up on top to get my TV antenna situated correctly which I had noticed but wasn't sure how to do. They showed me that there is a small box with an outlet in it inside the compartment where my electric cord is and told me that after I unhook at a campground I should plug into that box. It helps keep batteries charged etc. I never knew this and I have owned this rig since 2008! It's probably on my "walk Through" video that I lost right after making it, never to be seen again. :) Also while chatting with their service manager about all the places I'd been I mentioned that the east coast state parks often don't have elec hookups. He asked why I didn't use the generator. I admitted I didn't know how so they took me right out and showed me. When I first got the rig, I tested the genny once and when I went to do so the second time it wouldn't start and I haven't touched it since. I had no idea I could run it while driving and run the a/c to cool down the coach in these 90+ days! So, bottom line: This is a great business that cares about their customers and offers service above and beyond. They mentioned that all of them RV so they do understand and I am beyond grateful to have a cold fridge and be able to continue on my trip.

I wonder when something like this happens that if you unplug the refrigerator for a few minutes and plug it back in, would it reset itself. Kind of like rebooting a computer.
