It's Tuesday and the race is on. And it's been many, many moons since I opened the breakfast table...

Today we are loading the rig for our journey back home. I have a little sadness. But that will pass..this home in Florida has been my get away from the fast pace. Plus the enjoyment of all the neat critters that come to visit :)

Dawn and Sharlotte. Robert and I enjoyed our Face time chats. And Lenora, we'll be chatting with you very soon too !

I'm really enjoying this as I have been able to put faces with names when I can't get to those GTGers. :(

Martha and Dawn I too have tried WalMart meat. Ack!!! Sam's or Winn Dixie is what I use while in Florida or back home we still have a butcher. Thank goodness

Carol safe travels to you And keep intouch.
Ava I hope your work day wasn't to bad for you
Paulette. Crossing fingers no more problems. And our roads will cross. Soon I hope
Lori and Ernie. Hopefully I will see you both when you come to Florida.

As for the rest of you, I hope your day is filled with Sunshine and happiness
So that's about it for now other than I need my coffee. LOL

Oh yeah one more thing.

Echo. Get over it ! It's disco so lean back and enjoy the beat. Yeah the beat still goes on !!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless

Good morning all. We've been having thunderstorms and rain. The temp is down in the 80s, but ooohhh the humidity. I just started using my new iPad and a friend from Hawaii "Face Timed me". I had not used FaceTime before, but it popped up asking if I would accept a call from my friend. What a cool surprise. What fun and how easy Face Time is to us. No webcams and software to sync (Skype). Wish my son and grand kids on Maui had an iPad :-)

Excited to meet Paulette for lunch today. She is parked just a few miles from where I live. Off to feed and walk Tyler, then coffee. Aloha

Good morning !!! Beautiful outside here, in Goodland, Ks. Time will change in a few more miles, I loose an hour, another reason I dislike going East. I will loose one more hour before arriving home, that's not nice at my age :D Not sure how many miles we drove yesterday, this was my destination, I've stopped here many times. Owner and I, always have a good chat. Maggie says nice place for good walks too.

Just checking in, not much news. Feels so good to be out on the road again, wish we were headed West though. I expect winds to be bad today, usually are in this area. I don't plan to fight them to many mies each Day , will take me more days to cover this state is all.

Zeee, wishing you safe and good traveling back north,
Have a great day everyone, have fun but whatever your day brings you be safe,

CArol :)

Barb, don't work too hard and if I don't talk to you guys before you hit the road, drive safe.

Red, it's just hot and humid up here too. They are saying chance of afternoon showers. It rained for a couple minutes here yesterday and it made it more steamy! I love my FaceTalk too. You can reach me on my iPad at dawn.shive1@gmail.com if you need someone to talk to.

CArol, drive careful. I am not fond of driving across Kansas either. Too much flat country.

Going to be pretty boring around here today, I hope. Going to spend the day doing my chores and boxing everything up.

Everyone have a fantastic price and if you are driving, stay safe.

Good Morning ladies! we are having beautiful weather here in Lansing... in mid 80s sure beats 100s... and guess the bug everyone else has had since I have been here has finally caught me! I may have to cancel the dentist appointment for tomorrow they are suppose to remove the root of the tooth that broke off while I was in Fl...

It seems that when I come to Lansing there is always family drama... wish they would grow up and get along but they are addicted to turmoil! Soooo glad I have my motor home to retreat to!

Today my granddaughter and great granddaughter from Caledonia are coming for a visit... she is preg and from what I hear she is huge!!! this one is a boy Jackson... he will be arriving on or about August 2... oh how hard it is to be preg in the summer...

Not much else going on here... did my dishes this morning and shut off the water heater... need to flush the fresh water tank... sure wish I could find a place to dump it so it would not have to pump it through the system... oh well as my grandma used to say if wishes were fishes we all would have a fry! loved that lady and all of her sayings...

Have a great day... thinking of Barbie and her upcoming trip to MN also CArol and her trip home... soon Echo will be bringing her new tt home... what a blessing that will be for her and Kelly... Dawn is moving toward the road... it is hard yet exciting to dispose of all the things in a house...Barbzee take it easy on the road... so much movement here on the forum... take care everyone and enjoy each day you cannot get it back...

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

YAY!!! I have today and tomorrow off of work. I plan on enjoying each and ever single minute of it! Had planned on pulling the wheels off of the trailer and going up to the sons so he can take the tires off the rims but now I don't think I will go up? Well at least it's not now in the plans. Have called the mobile repair guy and I'm hoping that he can come over today to check out the fridge. Left a voicemail on his phone and Kelly also talked to him. We let him know what the fridge isn't doing and that buying a new or replacement fridge is NOT an option. I am praying that at $85 an hour that it is a quick and easy fix. Honestly, it it rains in my world, it pours. Trying hard to hold onto money and add it to the gas fund for TX and now having to buy a new pair of black sneaks for work and now putting it out for fridge repairs. ~sigh~

Kelly is getting around and ready to go do her campground job then she of course has to be at her WalMart job by 3pm. She just asked me if I was gonna pick her up from work tonight? Told her I just didn't know... It all depends on what the repair guy says and when he can come over. If he can make it today? That would be great. Then I could go to sons tomorrow. Dang! Have to go to Home Depot and pick up a 2"x10" and have it cut in pieces so I can put them under the jack stands for stability.

OK, gonna go read and see what's been going on. Hope ya'll have a really great day and that you remember to stay and do everything safely!!!

Love to all

We are parked next to the train tracks on the Seward highway. That was a nice wake up this morning....not.

We are waiting for a bore tide. Not the greatest place to spend the night, sometimes one is rewarded. I commented on a stand out mountain peak this morning and got the Atlas out to see what mtn it is. Duh, it is McKinley .... Perfectly clear!

Coal train passing by.

One day I will catch up with all the doings on here!

Good morning gals! We are going into a heat wave out here! Gonna be pushing 90 by the end of the week! Ha! That's nothing to the rest of you after what most of you have been enduring lately! We are just spoiled out here tho.

Yesterday I signed up with AAA, put in an order for a trailer hitch, made a reservation to pick up a U-Haul Sport trailer on the 29th ($50 cheaper than on the 26th), and made an appointment to bring my car in today to get it checked over.

So today will be laundry, sorting clothes, and getting car checked out.

The comb/brush thingy I bought at the Fair for Lola works great! I tried it out yesterday and it took off enough undercoat to make three more cats with! And that was just across her back! She loved it too! Will do a little more each day to get it all out. I also bought her a harness and put that on her for the day. She didn't like it much but did OK with it. She'll get used to it by the time we leave.

Hope you all have a great day!

Barbie, what kind of brush/comb did you get for your cat? I have tried several kinds and haven't found one that works very well on the big Maine Coon. Her fur is the very soft kind that wants to mat and she is always hacking up hair balls.

It is still raining. It has been an almost constant drizzle for 3 days and more to come.

All the ones packing have me going through a box of old papers. They don't seem dusty but must be because my nose is running.

I have had my humming bird feeder up for several months and today is the first day that I have seen any. It sure took them a long time to find it. There are 2 tiny green ones. I hope they spread the word. I like to watch them.

Better get back to the mess I have spread out in the floor.

My cat has the same kind of fur. It is called Love2pet grooming tool. Here is a link for it:

Need to change some plans. Seems I can't get a trailer hitch for my car. So now I have to figure out how to get my stuff back, or leave it behind. :( (I wrote more about this on my other thread)

Barbie, just pack it up and send it home. the cost of doing that will probably be close to the hitch and trailer rental. JMO Linda

On a brighter note... just got back with my car and after a total check over and oil change, the bill came to $38. Brakes and tires are all good to go. Fluids topped off, belts and hoses checked and good to go. So that is a big relief and money saver! I am getting about 28 mpg now (mountain driving and AC running), probably a bit less once I load up the car, but still good.

Now just need to check on the cost of shipping stuff to MN.

Barbie, my philosophy with uhauls, shipping and storage units is unless it's sentimental the cost of moving it,shipping or storing it is probably as much or more than replacing it when you get where you're going. Besides if you can get Lola comfortable with traveling you can enjoy yourself on the way back instead of hurrying. I was also a little curious about why you didn't stay with your dad too but I certainly understand about having peace and contentment in your life. Keep us posted on progress.
