Stovetop Smoker

Stovetop Smoker

Has anyone ever tried a stovetop smoker box? (I know, I know - I watch too many cooking shows...)

I just ordered a small one, along with 4 different "flavors" of wood chips.

I don't know why I did this...I don't cook any more. (SHUT UP, VICKIE!!! No comments about "the world thanks you", etc...)
I do love smoked salmon.

Where do you put the wood chips? (I mean, I know where you COULD put them... but where are you supposed to put them?)

Heal up real good and come on over!
Too bad the pool's not open...but I could squirt you with a hose.
Or, you're a country girl - you could swim in either of the ponds...

Ummmmm, no, not at all this year! I'm bummed, but the chemicals to open it (never mind the work...hasn't been cared for since G got sick last August) would be overwhelming. But I have a HUGE jacuzzi in the master bath...it's so big, I can't even use it (not kidding here...my feet won't touch the far end so I can relax. And, you know what goes with that comment, right? )

But we can build campfires and go for walks or sit and yack or play Wii. Just no cooling off.

Mitch...am very interested in that stovetop smoker....can you share the website info please....I don't care to cook all that much either just for me....and don't want to set up the BBQ to cook something (just for me again)...so this would be a easy way to cook fish or hamburgers or whatever, as far as I'm concerned....would really like to investigate further...website please? ( and did you order one already?)......
Thx

Here's the one I ordered (note that it's the SMALL one; they refer to it as "mini"):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000231AXG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

Yes, I have ordered it, along with additional smoker chips.
Rated 4.5 stars, with 230 reviewers. That's pretty good.

I think I might see one of these on my future buy list. Will wait for you to experiment and tell us if you like it as much as the others. And I especially want to know that it doesn't smoke up the house. I mean, smoking up my little rv wouldn't take much :) I'd find room for that - would be great for lots of things. Small size should be fine for me, too.
