Up And At 'Em Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Up And At 'Em Friday

Postby Dawn309 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 6:40 am

So thankful that my sleep patterns are getting straightened out. Went to bed shortly after 10:00 and woke up at 6:00. Felt so good to wake up normally with the alarm like I used to. So far just have coffee made. Not really hungry for breakfast, but have Toaster Strudel for anyone who wants breakfast.

Barb Zeee and I have our new phones and iPads working. Yay! Had a FaceTalk with my youngest daughter yesterday. Really liked being able to see her while we talked. I miss her living in Alabama and am planning on us staying in the Ft. Benning area to spend Christmas with her and her family this year.

Got more packing done yesterday after having two days of play with Barb. Spent part of the first play day putting together the surprise for Echo. I am having so much fun with this. Poor Echo, just 19 more days now till she is in her way here! To make it even worse, Barb Zeee has seen the components of the surprise and she's not telling either!

Gotta make my list for today's tasks and drink my coffee.

Everyone have a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe!

Morning ladies. Dawn, you sound so energetic. I'm up but barely into my first cup of tea. I'm up with a sinus headache. Not really hungry even for toaster strudel. I walked the river trail yesterday - a little over 5 miles and I am sore this morning plus the headache. Think I will just hang out in the cool today. Looking forward to seeing Echo's surprise.

Horizon, hope you get to feeling better. I hate headaches! You just take it easy today and hopefully you will feel better tomorrow.

Morning Dawn and everyone....
I have been up since 5am. Even got dawg beds done. Was filling humming bird feeder and had a (Dawn I know you are smiling) spill....yes it flowed like the river. All over the kitchen floor....A very sticky situation....
Another surprise to me using I pad ...I've been looking at this icon for a bit. Reading the words Safari. Hmmmm what could that be....? Low and be hold turns out to be (or not to be) Apple's browser. ( thanks Lenora). And here I thought it was a jungle book. ??????LOL. What do I know about Apples other thAn eating them.

Now I have to go into town sand pick up scripts and then if I am lucky I'll get my pair of Reeboks.

Hope you all have a great day and weekend...

God bless

good morning ladies
Down to the last few days of vacation, Monday is a work day :D
Probably get started on my quilt today, got my tools I need and have a layout planned in my head.
Also spent sometime checking out a few places to visit, virtual trips at this point until I can actually
do them. Its fun looking at google maps in the satellite image and then you take that little man and
put him on the blue line to see pictures. Spent a lot of time yesterday doing that. It was fun.
Daughter went to NYC to witness her dad and his partner get married. I was invited but turned it
down cause I just can't afford it. As it turned out, I have to work anyway.
Coffee is fresh and I'll make a little toast. Ya'll have a great day.

Good morning fellow camper gals! Libby the Liberty got her first ever oil change yesterday morning and Evie (Pooker) was kind enough to come pick me up and take me to breakfast while Libby was getting her check up and fluid change. IHOP, one of my faves. Always a pleasure to get to chat with her! She's going to Laughlin the 16th, to bad, I'm sure hoping I'm on the road by then or I would be going with her. With this new jeep, I have no way to HU the auxillary brake since I have to dis-connect the battery to tow, so Hope and Libby go in Monday to have a 12 volt cord with a cigarette liter on the end installed. (run from Hope to Libby) I really don't need the brake since I drive with the exhaust brake on most of the time unless the road is long, straight and no traffic, but if I should ever get in even a fender bender I'm automatically at blame if I don't have it, whether it's my fault or not. They're also going to take the bedroom doors off. I don't need them and they are just in the way. I tried for a couple of hours to get them off, couldn't for the life of me figure out how. I'm thinking they put the doors up and built the coach around them... . Nothing like leaving everything to the last minute. sigh.

I had a sprinkler not working and the message on the controller said it was a solenoid valve. Got on the net and found a cheap and easy way to check them with 3 9V batteries. They were all working using the batteries to activate them, but I did find spidey houses in a couple of the wire nuts, so I'm thinking it was just a bad connection. Seems like everything is working fine since I cut and re-striped the wires and put new wire nuts. I'll go back today and tape everything to keep the spiders and dampness out. Gotta love the net!

Little town near me has a farmers market on Fridays, so I called my daughter and asked her if she wanted to go. She can't, she's taking the girls skating today but she put in her order for some cilantro humus. There's a guy there that sells all kinds of humus and they're all delicious and all made fresh. Now I just need to decide after I get there and taste test all of the flavors what kind I want. :D I follow the blog of a gal that used to be a member here and she posted a recipe for croutons and snack toast and I need some humus to check out the toast. :D The toast is made with olive oil, so it's gotta be healthy, right?

OK, off to roust the Chew monster out of bed, I asked her if she was ready to get up about 5 this morning and she just errred at me, didn't even lift her head up...I took that as a no. Have a great day today, weather her in SoCal is just gorgeous and I'm hoping that heat wave will be gone from the mid west by the time I get there.

Good morning everyone. I'm packing, checking out and headed for the airport to go back home. Temps here in Vegas will hit the same high as home in Houston, above 100. Except one very dry and the other a sauna. I think I like the dry better, but my skin is always itchy :-). Sharon, that hummus selection sounds so yummy. Avalen, I like doing the same thing with that little guy on google maps. I could spend hours on virtual trips. If you are traveling, stay safe. Everyone try to stay cool.

Good Morning... guess hot is the story of our lives for a while... I got to Lansing and am parked in my daughters driveway... it is tight but it works! I just put the generator on so I can run the air... that will cool me down until I go into the house...

I got some bra's in the mail and needless to say have to take them back they are weird looking and I got several different styles... guess it was a try anyway...

Shadow is chasing a fly! he hates them and if he catches them he eats them!

I hope everyone has a great day... I am off to write a thank you note to a friend that gave me a gift the other day...

Good morning all. Out the door and on my way to the lake. Havent been for one reason or another in a couple weeks. Be good to get out again. We evidentally had some good storms go thru last night, the power went off before I went to bed, so kept listening for the house to start up humming again all night. Hope Echo is ok I heard there were some big storms in the Smokies last night. Barbie, Im glad you have made a decision. Making it is always the hardest and then everything see,s to fall into place. At least for me. I'm a great waffler! And I think you really want to be closer to your Dad. Everyone have a great and a safe day and weekend! Wendy

We did it! We have achieved escape velocity, and are now in day 4 of full-timing! It's a very weird feeling, I keep thinking that we will have to start back soon and get back into the harness....but no! BWAH-HA-HA!
It's a bad time to have a house on the market, what with the holiday and hot weather. I'm hoping someone will come along (very) soon and see its finer points.
Mooch the cat so far has run the gamut of cat emotion, a surprisingly large spectrum. Anxious one day, the blues the next - today he's just resigned and relaxed. He likes looking out the windows of the rig. So do I.
Plans are to visit AZ, NM, and CA over the next few months, then - wherever the wind blows.
Those who are on the road - stay safe, and those who aren't - stay cool!

Megan, keep us posted on where you're at, I'll be heading out of SoCal this month and you (or I) never know where I'll land for a couple of days. Be nice to GTG with you if our paths cross.

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON TO ALL!

I was so busy paying last minute bills this morning I never even got on here. Then I was off to grocery shop, get my propane tank filled, buy two 4 X 8 X 1/4 inch pieces of particle board to lay down here when I move the trailer so that, when I get back this time, I can just drive onto them like nothing instead of backing and forwarding and backing and forwarding and on and on to try to hit the boards I have been using!

Then I went to the pond and got the generator back into the truck for my trip next week. Then did a load of laundry, and then spent the afternoon in the pool! It is small, but does the trick---I am actually cold here now and it's still 88 out there! The temperature of the pool water got up to almost 70 today in the sun and felt SOOOOOO good!

Today was our hottest day, and I loved it! Am very happy to have my pool just outside my door, however, in which to loll and cool down!

Tomorrow is dump day, and Sunday I will check tire pressure, hitch up, and get ready to haul A$$ early Monday morning. I need to try to get ahold of Richard tonight, too, to see where we can meet. Time for an icy vodka and fruit punch drink followed by a chicken salad sandwich for supper.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
