ANOTHER WARM TUESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

ANOTHER WARM TUESDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Jul 03, 2012 6:54 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

53 degrees here this morning, and promises to be nice and sunny again all day. I cannot get over how lucky we are here in these mountains (high hills, really, compared to the Rockies and the mountains in Alaska) weather-wise. We seem to be faring better than most other places in the country.

Unfortunately ORS is down and out again, so I am hoping most will check on here for the latest updates, etc. I miss not being to read and post on that site, however.

I did my banking and some grocery shopping and found another smaller quick-set swimming pool yesterday at Rite-Aid for just 60 bucks. It has a pump and filter which was one of my criteria for purchase. I will set that up and begin filling it today, and that will probably ensure that the weather will get colder almost immediately! It will be nice to have a place to loll and cool off right up here next to the trailer, and a place for Orion to practice his swimming skills.

I got an anxious call last night from my brother who informed me that his oldest son had just been taken to the ER via ambulance with what seems like a heart attack. I didn't hear any more news overnight, and am waiting for an update today from someone. I guess he was out in the yard washing and cleaning his boat when he began having bad pains down both arms. When I last heard from them, they were at the hospital where they were giving him nitroglycerin, but he still had bad pains. They were keeping him overnight to do extensive cardiac enzyme analysis to determine if it was/is indeed a heart problem or something else. The kid is in his 40s, but way too overweight for comfort. My bro and I commented that it should be one of us in there and not one of our kids. One never knows.

I made some beef stew yesterday which tasted mighty good for supper, and I will also have some this morning to start my day. I know stew in the heat most of you have probably seems idiotic, but I have had a craving for tender beef and fresh veggies for a month now! And this morning in the coolness it will seem even better.

Hope you all have a decent day, and are able to stay cool, avoid wildfire smoke and flames, and realize that as long as there is life, there is hope. My grandfather always use to tell me when I was complaining about something that 'adversity builds character and strength to live a better life.' Some of us must be having a so much better life by now!

Happy Tuesday!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning Soos and all,

Yes, ORS is down and out for awhile but luckily Women RV is still humming along. It was cool here this morning too and it felt so good to put on a bathrobe and sit out on the deck with my coffee. It will warm up today, but nothing like the weekend. I am heading out to Petco to buy more calming pills for the dogs in anticipation of 4th of July fireworks. I bought some yesterday at Animal Kingdom and it turned out they were tiny capsules, like the old Contac pills. There is no way the dogs will eat them. The ones from Petco are large round pills which must taste delicious because the dogs beg for them whenever thunder starts. Pirate and Sadie need the pills, but Georgia, who is afraid of nothing, begs for one too. I usually break one in 1/4's and give her a taste. They are all natural - ginger and other herbs.

I spoke to a wildlife person yesterday about removing the coyote from my yard. He said it is illegal to remove them and place them elsewhere as even the State Parks do not want them around. He suggested cutting back all the undergrowth which I will definitely do, and then finding the den and putting human poop in the den to force them to move. That I will not do. I am not going near the den. Although, just in case, Soos - can you save me some of Orion's diapers? ;)

Take care and stay cool and far from fires.

I would love 53 degree weather - our low is near 80 right now. And the high humidity made it feel like you need gills just to breathe.

Four more days until I leave for Michigan and hopefully cooler temperatures there. I'm really looking forward to the trip. Where we are staying on Mackinac has started sending e-mails of things to do and places to eat - making it seem more real.

Morning all,

So glad for you all that are having cooler weather. We have "cooled" down to upper 90's. By weekend, will be back in 100's. Yuck. I cannot believe how much of the country is having record heat.

Well, have packed up all the boxes Darla brought me Saturday with kitchen stuff. Out of boxes again, so will be back in sewing room to sort that into what's going with me and what's staying with Darla. She was so excited about all the fabric she got on Saturday. As soon as I get sewing room organized again, going to get back to finishing my last placemat for the MH and working on my Log Cabin quilt again. Barb Zeee, will be knitting again too when upstairs watching TV. How's your scarf coming?

Time to go get more coffee. Then got to get dressed and feed outside animals. Have a great day everyone and if you are traveling today, stay safe!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

It's my day off, today and tomorrow!!! WOOHOO! Have so been looking forward to this. Temps are a little cooler here too but for sure it's gonna warm up today. Wuderground says it's 78 right now and suppose to go up to 97. I sure do wish this heat wave would wave bye, bye!!!

I am taking Kelly to work today and will be going into WalMart to get my haircut and pick up a few things. My hair is like a shag rug on my head and it's about to drive me insane! It's hot and curls 'out' and ends up looking like sticks poking out below the hat I have to wear at work.

I am gonna have to strip my bed and wash all my bedding today. It got a lot wetter than what I thought from the leak. When I checked it out yesterday before going to work I only found a slightly damp spot that I didn't worry about. But...... Under the blankets right down to the mattress it's damp. Found that out when I crawled into bed last night. YUCK! Kinda had to work around that last night cause there sure isn't anywhere else in here to sleep. Will put the fan pointing towards the mattress and get it as dry as I can.

Fridge is screwing up again. The tank I took off feels heavier than it should if it's empty. And now with the new tank it still wont stay lit and running. I keep shutting it off and turning it back off in hopes that it will start running. I have to wonder if that one tank had grit or something in it and it's now in the line. Really crawls up my butt too cause I grocery shopped and have stuff in there that has to stay cool and or frozen! Will have to pick up some ice today and put some of our stuff in the cooler and hope for the best.

OK, I'm off to read and see what ya'll have been up to. Hope that today brings ya good things and that it's fun for all. Please remember to stay safe! If your on the road for goodness sake drive safely and watch out for the crazies!!

Love to all

Made it under the wire......well speaking of wire ...hahaha.. just got back from VERIZON..

What a day already...last night I was Dinging..or is it Dingy ???? What have you but my phone never stopped and
nothing I did would help it..but seemed to make it WORSE....Alas I said to myself.."Hey, smarten up...turn that
baby off and go to Verizon in the morning"...and that's what I did ..after I got my chores done I was the first in
line as soon as they opened up...and ya know what... I wasn't the only one having issues...but thank goodness
it Got Fixed..hahaha..

I had everyone in that store laughing.. I think I could make it as a comdian..but real lift stuff... I mean the
Salesman couldn't hold it together... I'm sure I made their day...:)

What I also found out.. Listen up.... The Key board does not always turn...(now I find out) it only works on certain
programs..not on all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...So it wasn't me after all...hahaha

Next I had to apply for an Apple ID.. (it kept telling me I had one) I've never had an Apple (only eating one) so how could I have
had an account..DUH ??????...So again the Salesman had to go on line to do it..as the phone wouldn't go through...Lots could
be because of Verizon in the East Coast is having major issues...

Last but not least.. I still have to figure out FB and stop all those notifications from people I don't know...That still is something
I have to figure out..Those that know...YELL and I'll be a happy camper..hahaha..

Ok, that's been my morning and will be most my day too..

Dawn, I know you are falling off the chair ...I told you... Murphy Dwells in my establishment !! I'll be calling soon LOL..

Echo.. I know that feeling of a damp mattress..I've had my shares of leaks too..more than I'd like to even admit too..!

Sistahs, I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July...cause I sure know fireworks are always going off here in my home...:)

That's it for now...other than... My Scarf..is still in progress and each time I have to turn it ..OMG..it's a lot of Yarn to pull..

Pictures will be coming soon...rated PG of course..

God Bless....

Zeee and her Critters 3...

Ps..I did post morning here yesterday but something ate it up...it was gone in a flash...

good morning ladies
cloudy and overcast today, could it be a storm? I should be so lucky, but the weather person says its suppose to be 103 today.
Now thats a little cooler than its been but I'm really wanting some rain.
Had a friend come by and visit yesterday, she was my aide last year, and we became great friends. She's transferred over to the
special ed dept to be a job coach for the special needs high school students that get little jobs working in the stores, etc. We
had a great visit and Gracie just goes nuts when she comes over, you'd think Gracie thought she came to see her
(but of course mom)
Gonna have to make a trip out to my rv as there are a few things I need, my rotary cutter for sewing and a few other
things too. Then of course there are a few things here that I need to take out for storage.
Not much else going on in my life. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good morning from sunny & hot Vegas. First time I've been here in the summer. High 104, low 85. That's why the place looks like a ghost town during the day! Everyone roams the strip all night. I do like the fountains at Bellagio. I went to bed right after the last display. But I don't think I'll ever be a night person. All my life I've had animals and kids that need food and walks, etc. early every morning. I love the beauty of morning. Don't like getting up when the day is half over. Husband stayed out till 4:30 am playing poker. Won $1,600. He'll probably sleep most the day.

Soos-hope your nephew is doing O.K. Everyone stay cool and safe.

The sun is just starting to come out behind the clouds now. It is 67 now with a high of 75. Anyone want to come out here for a visit??

''adversity builds character and strength to live a better life.' Some of us must be having a so much better life by now!" I am still waiting for it... :roll

Carol, try using human hair. If you don't have your own to use, go to a salon nearby and ask them for some. They would be happy to donate some of theirs! I heard it works great for deer and rabbits because of the human scent of it, so maybe it would also work with coyotes.

Woke up with a splitting headache this morning. Probably from grinding my teeth all night from all this stress! Also having some strange dreams about my dad lately, so am a little worried. Sometimes I have premonitions in my dreams. E-mailed my sister-in-law yesterday and she says he is doing OK. His birthday is next weekend. I think he will be 87.

Have lots to do today so need to get going.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Just thought I'd chime in with temps here - woke up to it about 50 - which is about where it was when I went to sleep. Will be a high of about 56 today. Funny, I'm a summer person - but here, with the high humidity - these temps don't feel cold to me most of the time. Maybe it's age ... hahaha ... but I will be looking forward to some, hopefully, sunny warm temps where ever I settle for the winter.

Chiming in on heat too. We are at 100 again; did not get the rain that Birmingham received so only a little better off than most of the past week. Have been very fortunate however that there have been few power failures and each was brief. Have remembered every day to be thankful for my cool house even if I may have to hock something to pay the next power bill  . We are still under a water restriction (outside use only) and that will continue until we get a good bit of rain.

I finally got the photos posted from Paulette and Wendy's visit last Saturday. Had more problems with that than normal - operator error probably but don't know what it was. They are under the Mini gtg Huntsville thread that Paulette started in General section.

I've been invited to a cook out this evening and trying to convince myself to go. Just don't want back in the heat but would like to see the people and don't need to be sitting here alone tonight.

There was a fire at one of the antique malls where I have a large booth earlier today. News says the sprinkler system saved the building but contents are heavily damaged by smoke and water. I went down there a little while ago but they are not letting dealers in yet. Am assuming what I had there will be a total loss.

Hope all have a good 4th holiday. I'm hoping for a quite one, I think.

More clouds came by today but again, no rain :( It was only 96 today but supposed to go back into the 100's until next Tuesday. It did cool down to 92 around four so I dashed out for coffee, met up with a friend who happened in and talked till almost seven. Brought dinner home, as it is also a vegetarian restaurant and coffee house. All the desserts are homemade and the pie today was banana cream with piles of whipped cream. I did resist but it was hard. My friend was going to Six Flags tomorrow and asked if I wanted them to bring me something so kidding, I asked for cotton candy! I'll probably get a little container of liquid syrup!

Sarah you've sure had more than your share of trouble with your antiques. I hate to see our water bill this month we are trying to save a few plants. So far we haven't had any restrictions on use.
