GOOD MORNING TO ALL!
53 degrees here this morning, and promises to be nice and sunny again all day. I cannot get over how lucky we are here in these mountains (high hills, really, compared to the Rockies and the mountains in Alaska) weather-wise. We seem to be faring better than most other places in the country.
Unfortunately ORS is down and out again, so I am hoping most will check on here for the latest updates, etc. I miss not being to read and post on that site, however.
I did my banking and some grocery shopping and found another smaller quick-set swimming pool yesterday at Rite-Aid for just 60 bucks. It has a pump and filter which was one of my criteria for purchase. I will set that up and begin filling it today, and that will probably ensure that the weather will get colder almost immediately! It will be nice to have a place to loll and cool off right up here next to the trailer, and a place for Orion to practice his swimming skills.
I got an anxious call last night from my brother who informed me that his oldest son had just been taken to the ER via ambulance with what seems like a heart attack. I didn't hear any more news overnight, and am waiting for an update today from someone. I guess he was out in the yard washing and cleaning his boat when he began having bad pains down both arms. When I last heard from them, they were at the hospital where they were giving him nitroglycerin, but he still had bad pains. They were keeping him overnight to do extensive cardiac enzyme analysis to determine if it was/is indeed a heart problem or something else. The kid is in his 40s, but way too overweight for comfort. My bro and I commented that it should be one of us in there and not one of our kids. One never knows.
I made some beef stew yesterday which tasted mighty good for supper, and I will also have some this morning to start my day. I know stew in the heat most of you have probably seems idiotic, but I have had a craving for tender beef and fresh veggies for a month now! And this morning in the coolness it will seem even better.
Hope you all have a decent day, and are able to stay cool, avoid wildfire smoke and flames, and realize that as long as there is life, there is hope. My grandfather always use to tell me when I was complaining about something that 'adversity builds character and strength to live a better life.' Some of us must be having a so much better life by now!
Happy Tuesday!
