RABBITS REAL SUNDAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

RABBITS REAL SUNDAY!

RABBITS!

(Color of text is red to reflect my embarrassment of yesterday!)

I DID remember to shout it in the depths of the morning (about 1:30 am) when I turned over and looked at the clock, so am hoping for some good luck stuff this month. Did any others of you remember?

Kathy and her grandson called early on last evening and said she was too tired to camp and begged forgiveness----of course I forgave, as Friday was her last day of work, and retiring is an emotional thing that tends to exhaust you! Also, she is planning to drive to her daughter's in New Hampshire today to visit over the Fourth of July. There will be other times for overnighting and campfires! So Mandy, Orion, and I shared a homemade pizza (made by our local Birch Bark Deli down the road) and chatted and played on the screen porch until dark. I always like to hear what my knowledgeable, practical daughter thinks of politics and world situations, and we hit upon health care, gobal warming and much more!

It's already 80 degrees out in the sun, and the nice stiff breeze of yesterday has dissipated----could be warmer today. I picked the first cup of blueberries last evening, and hope to pick a lot more today. I guess I will look for some pancake mix and whip up some for breakfast for us all. The kids will return to their house this week (maybe today?) and it will be lonely here again. And, it will force me to tackle the de-stuffing inside the main house again, beginning with the 78 rpm records. However, I can look forward to a break next week when I head to VT for the Bluegrass Festival. Other than that, I do need to pick up my fiddle skills, or lack of, I should say, and see if I can fake some ability to bow along! (That would be Beau, not Bough prounciation!)

Off we go---hope all who are roasting find some way to keep cool. Breezes are picking up here again, so I know we will have a good day. Happy Sunday for real today!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Yep, it's Sunday and I have to work tonight. YUCK! It's already 88 here and suppose to be 100 today. Don't even want to thing about working in the kitchen tonight at the park. Will probably end up melting and just be a puddle on the floor.

Enjoyed the visit with son and grandson but the two things i was gonna get done I couldn't get done! Grrrrrrrr! Son was gonna work on the truck but 'he' forgot I was coming up but at least he took the truck to work with him and found out I need a new A/C line. So that is on order and will get put on when I go back up and the system will be charged. We are really hoping that will take care of the non working A/C. Got home to late last night to go to WalMart. Had really planned on being home early enough to go in and get my hair cut. It's long enough that it is about ready to drive me nuts.

Was gonna also get the plate for the TT so that I can be legal and bring it home at the end of the month. Nope, couldn't do that either. Need to get with Dawn and get Chuck's Drivers license number and her telephone number for a "gift" paper that the county court clerk needs filled out. Even with the really nice receipt that she wrote out explaining that it was a gift they still require the other 'official' paper. What a pain in the butt!!

David bought 4, 6 ton jack stands to put under the axles of the trailer so that I can pull the wheels and tires off the trailer. When we are all done he will be using the jack stands for his own vehicles. Looked at some scissor jacks at Harbor Freight. But didn't get any as I don't know if I am gonna need then or not. That's something else I need to talk to Dawn about.

OK, enough blathering for now. Gonna go read to see what ya have posted since last night and I am either gonna go up and take a shower or stick my head in the sink. Hope everyone has a great day and remembers to be safe. Don't melt!!!

Love to all

Good morning ladies, and finally.........................I remembered RABBITS!!! No more pain in the shoulder today, it feels good.
I'm sort of a day behind on my chores, sheets are in the washer now but the car is all finished and with the new thermostat in
place the a/c seems to work stronger. Thinking about going to Costco today to price a few things son has on his list. Gotta price
soda pop for the machine. Been buying it at Frys on sale but never hurts to check other places. And, since its his own pop machine
he can put anything in it he wants. The neighborhood is finally starting to notice the pop machine on our front porch. Still only
breaking even on that deal. It makes a $3 difference in our electric per day but he will be tieing it into the complex electricity
soon as he gets the one circuit fixed in the carport. It was managements idea so we have the go ahead on that. Then we will
make some money off of the machine. :D
Need to make a run to the fabric store today or tomorrow and pick out some fabric for the baby quilt. Daughter showed me
her color scheme for the baby's room the other day so of course I'll make one to coincide. They also have a name picked out,
and she said she wanted an ordinary name, not a new fangled fancy name so his name is Jack, not Jackson, just Jack.
Off to make a fresh pot of coffee and I think today I'll have a little toast for breakfast.
Have a great day and be safe. Stay cool and stay dry. :D

Good morning all, I didn't remember to say rabbits either. I wonder what the deal is with the rabbits this year we have more around the house than I've ever seen and they aren't afraid. I can walk within about four feet of them before they decide to run. Deer aren't quit as numerous as usual but they too are unafraid. My neighbor chased one out of our yard yesterday and said he just sort of sauntered off didn't even lift his tail. We also don't have mosquitoes like usual guess it is the drought, the Japanese Beatles have also disappeared.
I've been watching the Lucy marathon and even though I have seen most several times I still laugh.
Looks like we are going to set another record today, with no end in sight of triple digits. I think they said this kind of heat for so long hasn't happened in 80 years. They interviewed some of the farmers at the market on Sat who said they are doubtful they will have late summer or fall crops and the apple crop is also in danger. It is certainly going to effect the economy in this area.
I hope Mitch has a safe trip home she sounded on FB like she is ready to sleep in her own bed.
Everyone on the road stay safe and be careful especially if you are traveling in this heat .

Morning - cloudy here this morning, we've already had some rain. And we don't have triple digits.

Six more sleeps until Michigan. Texted with the niece last night and she's not looking forward to the trip. She's turning into a teenager before my eyes. Could be interesting. And this was supposed to be a treat for me for finishing school. Speaking of... guess I had better start studying. Oh joy!

Morning all! Doing much better today. Darla brought me some medicine to help me sleep yesterday. I took last night and slept 9 1/2 hours. Ever since going to Viewing for Sharon's funeral, I had not been able to sleep more than about an hour a night. Was just too soon after Chuck's passing to have to go to funeral for girl we had watched grow up. Chuck had been like surrogate Dad after their Dad died of heart attack. Might still be asleep had Mom not called to find out if I knew anyone who wanted a whole bunch of sweatshirts she was boxing up. Some she bought last fall and never wore because we never had winter temps here. Told her no right then. Darla called later and she wants all so went and told Mom I would come get box when she is finished so Darla can pick up this evening. She is also picking up Chuck's elliptical bike so she can get exercise without having to be out in the heat. Said she might have time to help me box up some stuff to take this evening. She is excited to get my pictures and figurines from our bedroom. I had it decorated with Victorian artwork to go with my carousels and Victorian figurines I collected. She said she was decorating their bedroom with 1/2 John Wayne for Mark and 1/2 Victorian for her. That ought to be interesting!

I forgot to say RABBITS this morning too. Was just happy to wake up more at peace again.

Echo, will post Chuck's DL number and my cell number on that thread so will be easy to keep for you. I don't have fax machine anymore since I replaced my printer, so they will have to mail me the "gift" form. Just gotta love beaurocracy (spelling doesn't look right to me).

Barb, will be getting back to my knitting tonight. Haven't done anything but read for last couple days, when could do anything except cry.

Starting to get hungry so going to fix a sandwich and continue catching up with everyone. Have a great day, stay cool!

Sitting in my recliner at a rest area on I 39 in Illinois headed for Madison Wisconsin campground tonight. A bit warm here but don' want to start generator--lots of really noisy trucks, though.

Just had my ham sandwich with tomato and getting ready to pull out. Need to find a Penney's up ahead to get a couple of rugs. Tomorrow I take my bike rack lock back to a Camping World and get tire pressure monitors. That will be expensive, but I am just too worried about low tires. Also need a tire pressure gage that will reach inner dual tires, so need to buy that. Might get only front tire monitors as those are the most important ones.

Good drive so far today. Glad gas is so much cheaper.

Judy, as long as you are spending some money.....I recommend that you have some quality tire extenders put on those tires so that they are easy to reach for whoever is checking or adding air. Knowing that all six tires are within range driving down the road was worth the cost of the six individual tire monitors. The biggest ticket item on mine was the central monitor in the rig.

Judy, tire extenders are a must - forget getting a new gauge. And I got new tire extenders FREE from a tire place I stopped at. Not expensive ones, but have been on and working for several years now. Tire shops like Goodyear and others will usually check your pressure free and sometimes give things - CW is one of the most expensive places for any work - do NOT recommend you go there for this kind of stuff (or most any other work, either).

Tina is right, you need to be able to check and add air to all the tires. I don't know why they put rims with holes so small you can't get your hand through. The front tire you can see if they are low but you can't tell on the inside dully's. They will over heat and blow out if they don't have enough air. I have had the metal braided valve extenders for years but am going to try just short metal ones. I had to go to 5 places Friday to find what I think I need. We traveled 1,600 miles last week and I had a blowout when I pulled into my driveway. The tire was ok that morning. Think I will try to get a tire monitor system too. I carry a 12 volt truck air compressor so I can air up my own tires. Most of the time the air machines at the gas stations don't work or don't have a long enough stem to reach the inside tires. Be sure they put metal valve stems for the tires and not the rubber ones too.

Beth, what kind of extenders do you have? A truck place gave me some 5 inch straight extenders for the inside. I am hoping that will work. Need to go get tires tomorrow.

Martha, have no idea - just that they work. They may be cheap but I've never needed more - I can get to all the tires to check air. And a hint - only in some instances will the tire monitor system help you know ahead of time with a blowout. Blowouts don't mean the air was low - in my case, it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, not saying the monitoring systems are bad - just don't count on them to help when a blowout happens - might, but most likely (according to my old tire guy) won't. They will go off when it blows, however :) But they will detect the low air pressure that does lead to some blowouts - when the leak happens slowly.
