It's hump day!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's hump day!

Postby Echo » Wed Jun 27, 2012 5:06 am

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

It's Wednesday and I'm dressed to go out the door. YUCK! Usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my days off but my schedule got screwed up again. This week I have Friday and Saturday off. So wont be spending the off day with Kelly but will be spending the off days in Johnson City with the son. Going up Friday so he can work on the truck and one of the other guys where he works is gonna check out my A/C and hopefully get it charged and working. While I am up there I will be getting the plate for the TT.

Haven't been in here for a little bit. Been working and getting up in the mornings and not really having the time to post in the morning coffee. Actually I've been over sleeping and rushing out the door so as to get to work on time. Never really had this problem of over sleeping like this??? I'm wondering if it stems from getting so dissatisfied at work? I'm working the front line but still doing dishes too. I have made up my mind to put my app in at WalMart when I get home from TX so that will be about the first of August. Hopefully a little more hours and a little more pay per hour.

OK it's that time go to go. Hope everyone has a great day and remembers to do so safely!!! Have fun no matter what it is your doing. {{{HUGS}}} and prayers for those that need them.

Love to all

Good Morning Echo and all who follow,

I too have a changing schedule at work, today I go in at 11-7:30, same for tomorrow and then back to 8 on Friday and 7 a.m. the weekend and hereforth except for one 10 a.m. day next week. And there are days when I have trouble sleeping too. Someof that is due to a couple of four legged companions who have to go out or want up in bed with me during the night. And right now i have a stiff neck which didn't help sleep any last night either. Think I have a disc in my neck area out of line. Made a chiropractor appt and will need to leave work for a bit this morning. The bad part of shifting my schedule right now is that Tessa is on an antibiotic for what might be a bladder infection and I am supposed to give her a pill every 12 hours. With the schedule change, that is presenting a bit of problem in that it throws off the pill schedule. I am working it back a bit at a time, so I can do it before I leave for work in the morning. Need to shift to an early start starting Saturday.

But the last two days have been fun. My friend is able to set her camphosting schedule however she wants, so we can have the same days off. So we went up to Burt Lake and one north as I said yesterday. Yesterday we went to the Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore in the afternoon. It has been a number of years since I have been down there. She goes every year when she is camping at Interlochen SP. She drove too, which was a nice break for me as I drove the day before and when one lives by one's self, one is always driving. Nice to be a passenger for a change. I took a number of pictures over there, have them loaded in Photobucket and as soon as i have time, I will post them for you. I also posted the pictures that I took of Judy and I at our mini GTG and they are in the GTG section. So it's been a great two days off. Next week we will take off again. Brenda will be here till July 19th, so it will be fun time for the next couple two or three weeks.

I have been reading up on the latest FL flooding from Debby. Certainly hope that none of our forum sisters are under water although I know that Alice, being close to the water, may be having problems. Hope those of you down in FL can post pretty soon and let us know how you are doing. I know FL has been in drought, but this is a bit much.

Maggie, the hot weather we are getting starting today is not going to be a long term thing and actually, compared to the areas from our south all the way down to you, it's not that bad. High today, for us is around 84, tomrrow a bit higher, but by the weekend, back into the low 80's again. Doesn't look too bad for next week. It's typical of the weather pattern as we head into July. The National Cherry Festival starts this weekend in Traverse City and they usually have fairly nice weather. Our Alpenfest in Gaylord is the 3rd week in July and it's not unusual for us to have hot weather that week. You picked a good time to have your reunion in June as that month is beautiful weather wise. And along the shores of the Great Lakes it's always a few degrees cooler from the lake breezes.

Am going to wish all of you a nice day and head on over to the other posts and see what's going on around the country. Am behind a bit on the AK groups blog although have been reading Beth's. Such beautiful pictures and she certainly has a dream job way up there in AK. The things memories are made of.

Good Morning to all - Bill made lots of French Toast this morning - grab some before he puts it in the freezer.
Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day - low humidity, stiff breeze and in the low 80s - today it going to climb to low 90s humidity is a little higher then tomorrow we start breaking records for the next 7 day 98 and higher with over 100 predicted for several of them. No rain in site. Last rain that could be measured was May 1
Bill is kept busy half of the day taking care of all of the hanging baskets and new plants out front. First time I've seen brown lawns all over the area - looks like CA in the summer. Lots of fireworks shows are being cancelled because of dry grass etc.

good morning ladies
its official, doctors release is getting faxed over to my dispatcher and got my addresses of the 4 students I'm to pick up starting July 9th.
Although a life of leisure is nice, it feels good to be working. Besides, the money is a necessary thing :D
Picked up a new air mattress from daughters the other day (as she purges and tosses in preparation for her move) and will swap the one
I've got for the new one. I really like the air mattress, as I can put as much air in as I want and make it firm, then put the topper on it.
The one I have is a double high so I'll make the platform for the new one to raise it up off the floor and I can utilize "underneath" for
storage. Can get all that done today.
Also brought home daughters cat the other day as she can't deal with litterbox while pregnant and she also can't take the cat with her
when she moves into boyfriends house. So.................son has a cat now, not me. But this one can go out as soon as she learns
where she lives. She spent the first two days hiding under the recliner and finally came out last evening. I had to entice
her out with a yummy can of cat tuna.
I have nothing else on the agenda today. :D
Ya'll have a great day, be safe, be dry and be cool.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Happy to hear you are good to go back to work, Ava! It will feel good to bring in some moola again! And that means you are feeling better physically, too!

Sounds as if Sue has been having fun on days off with friends. I hope that warm weather will head this way soon!

Echo is, as usual, not a happy camper. Might be time to rethink and regroup try something new?

Very good to hear from you, Lori-----hope you and Bill will have a fun summer this year! French toast sounds wonderful----wonder why I don't make that any more----hmmmmmm!

Anxious to hear from Alice to see how Debby's visit in her neck of the woods went. Perhaps she is on her pontoon bike, trying to stay afloat, with Abby on the back?? :)

My doc appointment for my mammo was NOT yesterday, but for today, so once again I will go inside to take a bath and head out for the squishing. Good thing they called me to pre-register yesterday before I left for what I thought was my appointment time!

I set up my friend's computer for WiFi last evening, and then tackled her TV to get her Satellite stuff up and running. She is so stubborn and so totally against any new technology that I had all I could do to not strangle her! It will be interesting to see if she even uses anything I got running for her. I need to make sure her email is set up later on this afternoon so she can just click on the windows Outlook email icon and get her Verizon account, which I will need to set up, to come up automatically. I hope I can remain calm as she rails against the confusion of it all!

Happy Wednesday!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soosie - sounds like my mother. And she used to call me after she moved to Atlanta to try and diagnose her electronics problems over the phone. I finally convinced her to take them to my BIL who live 3 miles down the road. Poor BIL   :P

I am so ready for this week to be over. Work is stressing me out, school is stressing me out - everything is stressing me out.

Sue - Sleeping Bear is one of the first things on our list to do. We will be on that side of Traverse Bay the first weekend.

Morning everyone. Sounds like most are busy today. I should be too as tomorrow is pull out of dodge day for the summer! Had an awesome week at the beach last week and then came home and pulled my lower back out cleaning! Guess I should do it more often? So, this morning I went to the chiropractor and it does feel a bit better. I guess I was hoping for an immediate cure...haha. So, today I have to finish loading up the food and clothes, turn on the fridge, put a bit of water in the fresh tank, swap out the charcoal grill with the new weber q and hope we can pull out of here between 9 and 10 tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to meeting Sarah and Wendy in Huntsville this weekend, before I head deeper into the heat of Houston! Some day I'll be able to head south in the winter and north in the summer!

Zee, I'm glad the worst of the rain and storms are over for you. Echo, I'd say that is probably exactly why you are oversleeping! Soos, good luck getting your friend all hooked up! Ava, glad to hear you are heading back to work!

Alaska ladies, it's been a whole since we've seen updates to the blogs (except for Beth). Don't keep us in suspense for too long!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.

Ava, so glad you got your release and can now get back to work. I know that's a relief to you.

Soos, sounds a lot like Mom. She likes technology, but can't quite get the hang of it. Thank goodness for my brothers who both do and have done computer programming. Since Paul has moved out here, he gets to take care of all of Mom's computer issues.

Those of you that were on FB last night with me know I was struggling with how to take my sewing/craft room with me. Got lots of great advice and had some laughs. After I got off FB and went to bed, got back up around 3 because my legs were hurting from the heat yesterday. Sat in here looking at the tubs I was packing and really realized I cannot take it all on the road with me. I realized on the road I won't need to be making clothes for work, so don't really need my dress form. Can give that to my granddaughter who wants it. Sat and thought about what I am most passionate about. That is machine embroidery, and knitting/crocheting. I am also taking my jewelry making supplies. I will use that to make gifts. As I get low on stones, beads, etc. will get that down to where I just buy what I need for a specific project. I will give all my material away except for what I need to complete the quilt I am currently working on. When I want to do another quilt, I can just buy fabric for that specific project. I am going to give Darla and Whitney all my quilting magazines and most to my quilting books. That will cut way back on weight. I can find free patterns on the Internet if I want a new design. I definitely will be taking my machines, but can buy the supplies as I go. Thanks Ladies. With all the laughter, you jolted me back to reality.

Got to get a move on and go feed the big dogs and the chickens. Everyone have a fun and safe day.

French toast sounds wonderful! Yum!

I am feeling much better since my relaxing weekend in Palm Springs! Now I have a calmer attitude and better perspective on stuff going on around here. Just needed to step back and take a deep breath before diving back in to the chaos!

Echo, just keep thinking about the new TT and I do agree that you need to try to get into Walmart soon. There is nothing worse than dreading going to a job! How does Kelly like working there?

Yesterday, I worked almost 10 hours! They still are running the $5.99 haircut sale and it was just me and a new gal working last night. It was crazy busy! We close at 9pm and didn't get out of there until after 10. The GM and assist mngr both forgot to get $1 bills so we ran out just after the bank closed. Had to keep using my tips for the drawer. Luckily, that kept us going until closing!

Another 9+ hour day today. The gal who showed up drunk again on Friday, called me yesterday all depressed and upset. I didn't have much time to talk to her and I haven't been able to get ahold of her since then. I hope she is alright. We are supposed to work together this afternoon/evening, so I hope she shows up!

Also haven't heard from my girlfriend in Florida who lives in Crystal River on a canal. I am sure they got flooded there, so am anxious to hear from her.

Hope you all have a good day!

Good late coffee everyone! I always seem to be late. I picked up an Alabama guide book somewhere and found a place I hadn't been to take a day trip. Just got back, but couldn't find one place and neither could the gps! Paulette, I thought you had already left! Is Maryland to Huntsville kind of a long drive for two days? Yep, I thought I had some good suggestions for Dawn taking all her craft stuff along. 1, have Mom hold it in her lap (This not too popular with Mom!) 2, since I travel light have me follow along behind with all the stuff (i'm retired, what else do I have to do?) 3, put one of those carrier things up on top of the mh! Perhaps I have too much time on my hands to think? Echo, what kind of hours is Kelly getting at Wmart? You all have a good rest of the day, off to watch the news and the "same ole" weather! Wendy

Just a FYI.

Kelly is working 5 days a week and a 3 to 11 shift. I'm not one to enjoy a night shift but I do like a set shift. At least when you work a set shift you can make plans to do something or go somewhere ahead of time. She is getting 35hrs a week, $7.70 per hour and gets paid every 2 weeks. She got a small check this past Thursday and she is really looking forward to her first 2 week pay check. She has plans to buy herself a couple pairs of khaki pants and a couple blue shirts for work. Oh, and some new flip flops!!! LOL

Those are good hours because when I left almost noone had a set shift and a lot of really short hours scheduled. Hope they're come around some, because hours and schedules were the number one reason for the turnover in my opinion. Beware, a set schedule may not stay but I hope so. But they have to come out 3 weeks in advance so you can do a little planning at least! Are her off days split?
