Sunny Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jun 25, 2012 6:36 am

Good Morning everyone,

Finally getting around to join the breakfast club this morning. Past few mornings have been a bit busy with getting ready for work etc.

Nothing much for breakfast around here right now, mostly eggs, bacon and toast, but you are welcome to have some. Heading for the store later on after I take Tessa to vet for some booster shots and her summer check up.

Really enjoyed my visit with Judy last Friday up at Mackinaw. As she said, we talked and talked and talked, spent a little time in Mackinaw City, she treated me to lunch. Thanks again Judy. And I got to see her beautiful new rig. Loved it. I know she will enjoy trveling the country with it. She's already handling it like a pro. After listening to her future travel plans, I was tempted to stow away in one of her storage compartments, but alas they are all full and not that large for a person to really hide in  I will try to post some pics in the GTG section if Photobucket will allow me to do it.

Been doing a little catch up on the forum here and seems everybody's doing okay, mkaing future traveling plans, getting sticks and bricks ready to put on the market, etc. It's a great time of year to be out on the road or whatever right now. The AK group looks to be doing a fair amount of exploring. Hope Mitch is doing okay on her homeward travels.

My friend Brenda is up here now, camp hosting at Otsego till July 20th. We plan to do some bumming later today and tomorrow unless her hosting schedule turns out to be different than my days off. She hasn't seen the boss yet, so doesn't know for sure what he would like her to do yet. All I know is, after working so much these past couple of weeks, both around the house here and at work, all I want to do is get out and play. Will have to pay attention to my grass here though as it's getting a bit on the high side again. Can do that in an evening just as well.

So guess, I had better be off and running here. Need to make my bed, get cleaned up, get a P sample from Tessa to take to the vet's with us etc. Real exciting stuff  Hope you all have a wonderful day no matter what you are doing. Summer's here, enjoy!

So glad you and Judy had a great visit and that your friend is there for you to pal around with, Sue.

Didn't sleep much again last night. Still working on that. Going to have another cup of coffee then head down to the garage for a mower to get the lawns mowed. May get the bigger mower today to make it go faster. The zero turn radius mower has a flat tire, so won't be that one. It has the biggest deck but doesn't do me any good right now. Whoever gets that mower will probably have to buy a new tire. Paul said he tried to air it up, but it wouldn't hold. May try a can of Fix A Flat. I know I bought about 6 cans for Chuck a few months ago so should be able to find one.

Am hoping all the Sistahs in FL are all OK. So much flooding and have been wondering how Barb Zee is fairing this morning. Hopefully all are doing OK.

Morning! I'm really stressing now - 12 days until the end of my classes. Judy - this is what someone on the other end of your "red pen" looks like!!!

And then I head to Michigan. I'm really wishing I was camping when up there, and I know Audrey would love it - Mom not so much anymore. That would have been fun to try and find a rental camper. Wish I had thought of that back when I was planning the trip. Oh well. Since we are going over to Mackinac and also wanting to check out a couple of hotels by staying in them, I guess it's better I didn't.

But I want to go camping!!!! <stamping foot> April was the last time I went, unless you count my driveway camping last week when the A/C was out in the house.

GOOD MORNING SUE, DAWN, AND ALL!

Looking forward to some pics from Sue and Judy's meeting----I hope photobucket does its thing properly.

Dawn, I finally got my mowing in before this latest rain, thank heavens. My mower took about 35 pulls to start as the choke/throttle cable has become detached. When it finally gets going, it works well, although it's not a self-propelled mower. I checked with Mema, who bought it years ago, and she says it never was self-propelled, but I can remember when it was down at the pond where it was stored. A new mower is on the list of things for me to do this summer, I fear.

And raining quite steadily on and off up here in the Adirondacks today. So far, no thunder and lightning for us (knock on wood) but a steady rain has been coming down mostly all the time from late yesterday afternoon. We really needed the water----has not really rained since I got home here over a month ago. Poor FL is really getting socked, with tons of tornado warnings---not watches---as well. I hope my son and my property down there fares ok in this latest storm.

As we have little or no wind up here, I put out my awning a while ago to provide some shelter from the rain. When this latest shower passes, I will attach the awning flappers and stake down the beam, in case of any winds later.

Mandy and Orion are going to Great Grandma's north of here for a few days starting today. If this rain keeps up, I may drive nyself there later in the week before they leave, as I haven't seen Mema in a year now. But I have my mammo appointment tomorrow first. I cancelled my date to go to a sales pitch in the Lake George area today, as I have no need for a Senior Pass from the Saratoga Battlefied Federal Park yet, and it's a long drive in the rain.

Coffee is hot and Hazlenut flavored, as usual, for me, so stop in and tell us about your day wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing. I guess I should get dressed soon, and maybe go inside when Mandy leaves to work more on "destuffing."

Happy Monday, and I hope Alice still has on her waterwings down there on the coast of the FL panhandle where Debby is visiting!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Morning to ALL.... I'm still floating !! Yesterday was a mess with rains, winds and howling..all night off and on
the Weather Radio sang out...WARNING...OMG...I thought ..."Ok, where do I go ? What do I need ? Will we all fit (Critters 3 cause I
ain't leaving THEM )..and then I remembered behind my house (400 ft ) there is a locker room that is used for the Golfers as they play and
need a "Potty" break :).. and it's concrete and heavy metal and a safe place to go ....then I thought.."Well, I wonder if it's locked
at night...????? " So today some time after the wind slows down and those rain drops let up..hahaha..I'll check it out !

Was up all night and I did nothing but jump to turn off the Weather Alarm ..lost Satellite several times but trusty cable internet was
working so I was able to track storm and She's still with us...

Psst..note..I used Google to track tornados and directions..from where they say it was spotted to where I am ..Works great and
keeps you some what calm...

So I'm now gonna take a nap as we are still under Tornado Watches till 2pm..and they say, "Debby is still gonna be with us till Wednesday"

Prayers go out to all that are in the area and for those that need them too !

@ Dawn.. I knitted all nite ..hahaha..it will be a scarf before Debby leaves if she keeps this crap up ! LOL

God Bless
Zeee and Critters 3...!

@Barb Zee. Get some rest! You are going to have post a pic so I can see your scarf. I really did pick up my needles and knit a few rows before I went to sleep. It actually felt good. May try to go work on the quilted/embroidered placemats I was working on. I only need to finish the last one. Everything has just sat just exactly where it was when Chuck passed. Don't know why haven't been up to working on anything yet. I think the knitting broke the ice. Thanks Barb!
