Thanks for posting. Felt like I was on the ride with you. I don't know that I could have done that long a trip. Sure would not have wanted to drive it. Really get a feel for what those drivers on the show have to deal with.

Not from here, Karen, but if it happens when we're on the Kenai Peninsula, maybe. In 2009 we were able to see the steam/ash plume from Mt. Redoubt..

I would like to say I went to the Arctic Circle, but that road sure doesn't look like fun at all! You did it the best way, with someone else's vehicle!

I saw Bunchberries, Fireweed, and a dandelion in the flower photo. We have all three of those right here on this property. The vegetation in AK seems to be very much like what we have here in the Adirondacks. I would LOVE it that the sun never sets!

We made that drive in 1980 in our class B. and when it was over and we were cleaning it up we ended up with a handful of screws on the floor that shook loose. There were times when I thought my teeth were gonna shake loose. No places to stop to eat then. At the Yukon Rv crossing there was a little store. We needed bread. They had one loaf for just over $6 but wouldn't sell it to us as they wanted the locals to have it.
At that time the truck traffic was tremendous. Always had them coming up fast from behind or speeding towards us. Sometimes the dust was so thick you were forced to creep along and prayed a semi didn't rear end you cause nothing slowed them down.
Glad you got to experience it, safely.
