Saturday! First day of the weekend

Goooooood Morning Sistahs!!!

Yep it finally got here. The first day of the weekend, Saturday. I wonder how many people will be out today trying to get the last of their shopping done? Rushing here and rushing there, counting pennies to see if they have enough money left to buy one or two more gifts. Boy it's a good thing it only comes once a year.

Got one coffee pot done and ready to pour and the second one is brewing. Also have some donuts, cinnamon rolls and Christmas cookies I grabbed at WalMart. Come pull out a chair and sit a spell. Relax before ya have to get started for the day. And tonight ya can collapse next to the fire and recuperate from the frenzy of the day.

I feel better than I did last eve, boy that sleep of the dead sure did feel good. My feet feel better and my mood has improved too. Oh I have 2 legged critters running around in here now too. Jenny came out wrapped up in David's blue housecoat, went out the door to go start her car up to let it warm up. Next thing ya know out of the bedroom almost flying comes David looking for her. He's wrapped up in her pink housecoat. Oh what a sight!!! LOLOLOLOL David's housecoat is thicker, longer and warmer than Jenny's so she grabs his. I was funny tho to see him come running out trying to wrap up in her pink girly housecoat. Got him stopped before he went running out the door as I told him she would be right back in after starting the car. I guess he thought she was leaving already for work. That sight will tickle me for the rest of the day.

So sorry to hear the Jill and Tommy have been sick with the stomach crud. Was wondering why they were MIA. Now we know.
Glad to see Trudy posting, that picture she posted of the birthday singer was cute.
Marslet finally had go clear snow so her baby could go tinkle and not get lost in the snow. LOL At least ya didn't have to shovel.
Nasoosie has got new bindings and she's gonna be zipping the trails this weekend.

Shoot I forget what else has went on!!! Guess if I'm gonna try this again I had better keep notes on what I've read!!! I'm no Barbz!

Ok I guess I will go check my email and get my comic fix.

Echo,... you did good girl! I don't even dare start a re-cap when I post the morning coffee greeting!

Weekend activity here is confused to say the least. I was going to VT to a bluegrass weekend, but that ice storm in NE hit that area and the power was off where the theater is. So,..... waiting for an update around 9 a.m. to see if we will be going.

Goodness knows I have plenty to do here if I'm home for the weekend. Still haven't finished my shopping, and no tree up yet. That's ok as I live alone with Middy and she doesn't care. But I will have to have it up by Christmas Eve for the family when they come for dinner. DGKs will want to see the village, skating pond, etc. all set up.

OK,... time to hit the kitchen for b'fast,..... oooooohhh,... Echo those Christmas cookies are goooood!

Morning. Coffee tastes great Echo...but I'll pass on the goodies for awhile..just can't eat right away in the morning. Usually I don't check the forum until later in the morning at work and I can't post from there. I'll be one of those people fighting the crowds today. I have to run to Yankton to pick up some things that just aren't available in our little town. But I plan to leave in just a little bit. I have a blanket in the washer that has to line dry so I want to hang it out before I leave. Soon as that's done I'll hit the road, get what I need and try to be home before the mobs hit the stores. It's suppose to be beautiful here today, but a blizzard is coming in from the West tonight. According to the weatherman we're just on the edge of it....certainly hope that he is right. But we're in for an Artic blast next week...time to haul out the long underwear! Ii'm done with most of my Christmas baking/cooking...have made fudge, Texas Millionaires, carmels, nut goodie bars and peanut butter cups. Some night next week a couple of friends will come over and we'll have a "dipping party" for the carmels, millionaires and peanut butter cups....so this afternoon I refuse to wash the kitchen floor..we usually end up with chocolate all over it. We're invited to a dinner party at a friends tonight...offered to bring something and was told a salad...think I'll make that grape salad with the sour cream, cream cheese, pecans and brown sugar. Hmm...just thinking of everything I have to get done today makes me tired...maybe I should just crawl back in bed! Have a good day everyone.

good morning ladies,
what a scare I just had, was reading the first morning post and suddenly the computer
went out, like a power outage but everything else was ok, first thing I looked to see
if the microwave clock was flashing cause the lights would have run off the battery.
Clock was ok so I thought the dang computer just took a big dump and figured I'd
have to get the old one out and hook it up. I certainly wasn't awake enough to do that
so did the dishes, sorted some laundry and got the first load going. When I came back
to the computer I fiddeled around and discovered the power cord had come loose from
the back side of the computer, don't know why, the dogs weren't back there and they
can't get back there anyway, but I seem to remember crossing my legs and my foot
bumping the computer so guess I did it. Gonna have to re-arrange things under my
desk so that doesn't happen again, I just can't take that stress
ok, my week in review........get up, go to work, come home, go to bed, then do it all
over again 4 more times. How boring! I did however get an email from my sister that
she is coming to visit in January. I haven't seen her for about 15 or 20 years so I feel
like I don't know her. But it will be nice to see her. She's coming from Wisconsin and
I certainly hope we have nice weather while she's here, I'm sure her husband will want
to do the golf course bit. They are both into golf, at least I know that much about her. Now I know what I'll be doing over winter break, spiffing up the place ,
dogs bathed, toenails clipped, car washed, all my extra stuff put in the understorage.
Phew! I feel tired just thinking about it.
This weekend is predicted to be cold and crappy and rainy. Means I'll have to go to the
laundry room again to dry my laundry. Oh well, I'll take my crochet with me again and
continue working on that afghan.
I think thats about it from me, have some pictures to download off the camera and
get into photobucket so I can post them. Have a great day everybody, stay safe and

ps It was so nice to see Barbzee a few times this week, I do love the cute little pictures
she makes and the recaps just make my day even though I only get to read them at
the end of the day.

Good morning, grabbing coffee. No sweets for me, you girls have ruined an entire town because of those cake balls. I have made them taken them to work, a meeting and the family has gone crazy over them. Everyone wants to know how to make them. There will be a shortage of cake mixes in town.

Santa's workshop is open here, making embroidered throws for gifts. We will also be making more cake balls and cookies for snacking. We are experimenting and coming up with new combinations. Also found out this morning I can monogram umbrellas so heading to town to get some, monogram them and give them as gifts..

So back to the workshop and get that sewing machine humming...

GOOD MORNING, all! It's -18 F. here this morning, but no wind which is a real blessing! I have my wood stove going full blast, and my Monitor kero heater is also trying to get the temp up in here so I can't see my breath! I had to turn on a couple of electric heaters in the cellar next to the pipes down there. EEEK! UP goes that bill for next month!

Sorry about your bluegrass thing, Cedar.....New England is really a mess. Ice storms, as we well know up here in the north country, are very devastating and no fun at all. Our new snow is beautiful, but it will have to get a bit warmer for me to try out my new/used ski bindings today! Molly doesn't linger very long out there today before she starts picking up her feet to keep them from freezing! I DO have boots for her, but she HATES them and bites them off almost before I can get all 4 on her!

Guess I'll make this a local shopping day, for both groceries and Secret Santa week at school. We pick names from a hat (if we choose to participate) and then get 5 dollar-store-type gifts to give one for 5 days, followed by one of no more than 10.00 on the last day. It's fun!

I am going to TRY to avoid the bakery section of Price Chopper today so as to NOT see pistachio muffins! But, I am drooling just thinking of them!

Good Afternoon All!

I expected to come on this morning - but slept till 8 and immediately dressed, grabbed Peaches leash - and out the door we went. Walked the beach, walked around the rv park, visited with people here - next thing I knew it was close to 10:30. Came in - started to come here - Sparkle came by - her puter is fried, so let her check emails - then we were going to meet at noon for lunch - well, it was close to 11:30 - she left, came back a minute later, saying some of the others here were already at the rec hall for lunch and wanted us to come now - so off I went - and now here I am and it's almost 2. Dang, the day can just disappear.

We went to a spaghetti dinner here last night ($3.50 for the spaghetti, salad and garlic bread). Then afterwards they played some cd music and we got to practice our line dancing. I am enjoying that - it's more fun each time as I feel I'm getting the dances learned. Course, there are lots more dances I haven't even begun to know!

I intend to read the rest of a book this afternoon - hopefully wrap some presents - then we'll go to bingo tonight. Windy this afternoon - probably tomorrow also - so wil probably plan my beach walk tomorrow for morning also.
