I'm up way too early, but Good morning ladies
Gracie woke me up, she's so freaked out. Had to get up and see whats happening that has her so upset. Swamp cooler
acting up and son up on the roof. The belt on the cooler is starting to shred so guess we'll need a new one soon as
HD opens. Can't run the thing on hi and hope it holds out on low until the store opens.
Looks like it will be a day definitely designed for a nap.
Youngest grandson came over last night to spend some time with his dad, don't know what their plans are for fathers
day but son has the kitchen all spic and span and ready to do some serious cooking. Haven't heard from oldest grandson,
he's too busy with his own apartment these days. Hopefully he'll at least call his dad sometime today.
Coffee is on but someone else is going to have to supply the donuts.

Good morning from Tok, Alaska! Up before 5:30 a.m. Alaska time, and the sun was already brightly shining. Won't wake anybody else though. I expect some of us or all will get into Fairbanks today, as it is only about 200 miles. I haven't quite decided yet, but may do my laundry at the local laundromat before setting off.

It was rainy off and on all day yesterday, so hoping for better weather today. At least it's a little warmer here than in the mts. we came through yesterday.

Hope you can get your swamp cooler fixed without too much expense, Ava.

Good morning Ava, Liz & everyone!

It's chilly in MD this morning and I have our woodstove going again. It's hard to believe the first day of summer is this week and I need heat. We are supposed to get to 80 degrees Tuesday, but right now, that's hard to believe.

I'll be calling my father here in a bit to wish him a happy Father's Day. He doesn't get moving as early in the mornings as he used to, so I don't want to call him too early. Fortunately both he and my mother are doing real well lately. They have two caretakers that come in and do whatever needs to be done in the house and takes them for their doctors appointments and also cooks for them. They're both great gals and are a God send.

Country ribs are in the crockpot and later in the afternoon I'll add some BBQ sauce. That and a large salad will be our dinner. Have a great day everyone.

Irmi, I wish we lived closer so I could invite myself for dinner...you are a great cook..my mouth waters when I read your latest menu.

Morning to all. Getting ready to fix 2nd cup of coffee. Been reading all the posts to catch up on everyone.

Ava, sure hope you are able to get that belt fixed quickly. Going to be hot today.

Liz, so glad you and all the ladies up there are having a good time. Yay! No broken windshields.

Irma, I wish I could invite myself too.

Tahra just called. She has to stop in at her office then coming to help me get the weed eating done today. Staying busy helps. She and her Daddy have always been really close. I think while she is weed eating, I will take down all Chuck's John Deere signs he had attached to various things like fences and trees. We have his memorabilia in every room in the house. I will be taking a couple of pieces on the road with me. He always thought it was funny that one of the first things he taught every grandkid was "Nothing runs like a deer, a John Deere". Even now that they are mostly well past being a very little kid, one will start it and the others will all chime in loudly. He always laughed along with them.

Morning. Ava - being without the swamp cooler is becoming the theme around here - well except mine is the full blown A/C version. Ugh! It's 84 in my house right now and going up. And I don't have good ventilation - wish I could open the front door, but then Jazz and Oscar would be all over the neighborhood.

And they aren't happy with me. Jazz can lay out in the backyard all day in full sun, but let "her" bed get too warm and she lets me know about it!

I'm working on one of two major projects for school. Three more weeks and I am done!

I got back a couple of hours ago from camping with my son, DIL and her 2 girls. We were at the local state park. It is a nice park but really in the boonies and very wooded. We saw one deer and 2 wild sows with 9 piglets. They roamed around the park and the piglets would come within 5 feet of us. We were all sitting on the pick nick table. We didn't want to make one squeal and have his mother come see. There is a splash pad water park for the kids. We went Thursday without the older girl because she had gymnastics. My son had to go pick her up Friday afternoon. It rained a little every afternoon which was good because it kept it from getting too hot and kept the dust down. All the roads are gravel. We had a fire two nights and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. My marshmallows never did make it to smoores. I ate so many I was almost sick. The second night I only needed one. Yesterday the older girl was bored so they went to rent a movie. Watched the movie and then she wanted to go spend the night with her dad. They packed up late and left and I had a peaceful night. I will go again if they take my grandson but I've about had enough of camping with kids. The 3 year old was so tired yesterday that she could hardly walk and wouldn't take a nap.

The first night our neighbors were 6 kids and 2 adults in a popup camper. They weren't at their site when we set up and when they showed up I thought OH MY GOD. There were 4 adults and 10 kids. About dark 2 of the adults and 4 of the kids left. They made noise until after 10:30. My DIL was threatening to leave. She would have ended up in the river before she found her way out of the park. As many times as we went to the water park she still couldn't find it. The next morning the man told us that we would have a peaceful night they were leaving. They had been there 7 days. He needs a medal for not killing any kids.

I wonder if the people that build RV parks have ever camped in an RV. There are 2 nice dump sites except the drive on each side slopes away from the dump and my tanks wouldn't dump until I put my outside wheels on blocks. I can see where this park is going to have problems. It has only been open a year and there are some sites blocked off. Don't know what the problem is but the electric boxes are all taped shut. At the dump one side had no water and the other side you couldn't turn the water off.

ok, nap is over so I'm up again for the second time. The belt on the cooler is hanging in there, son went back to bed as well
and grandson slept through the whole thing. Son will probably get the belt so we have it when the old one finally quits.

Good afternoon Ladies!! Slept in till almost 9:30 this morning. Probably because we stayed up till after 1a.m. When hubby got up about 45 minutes later he said he wanted to go out for breakfast. So I showered and got ready and then we were off. We were going to Billie Gails but there was absolutely no parking in the restaurant parking lot and cars were lined up and down the road. Hubby's 2nd choice was Cracker Barrel. Had to wait about 10 minutes, if that to get a table. Saw so many little babies made me miss my grands a bunch. I had blackberry/blueberry pancakes - yummy.

Now we have steak marinating, hubby is cooking the pasta for the pasta salad for tonight's BBQ/Potluck here at the campground. I am busy working ~ can't you tell???

Fairbanks is close, but there are a couple GREAT boondocking AND state parks on the way from Tok - if me, and with the time you have, probably would stop for a night or two or three. I did 3 years ago Don't forget your ice cream cones at the shop on the way to Fairbanks - and don't forget to stop at the North Pole! Ah, lol, I'm sure they'll do it all.

I'm being a bum today - have it off, and other than cleaning (already dumped and cleaned the bathroom - basically just vacuuming left) the rest of the day will be spent doing much of nothing (and walking Peaches here and there). Oh, and I've promised some to get the blog updated, so will get to that, too.
