Bandage fell off in morning, so I have been walking around on it with the stitches showing. Just got a shower, cleaned foot, and new and much better bandage with antibiotic ointment.

Got truck loaded, but there is still a pile of stuff in the garage, so he is taking a trailer and driving the 170 miles each way tomorrow to get the rest!! Lesson learned is to always get the next size truck!! What a disaster!

Tomorrow I will spend a couple of hours in the RV putting things away, preferably with no toddlers distract me.

Oh Judy, I am so sorry that you ran into that problem!! What a bummer!!!! :x

When we moved to ME I got the biggest truck Penske had available. ??? I think it was a 24 foot? Maybe bigger, I'm not sure now. They tried to talk me into a smaller truck but I was adamant in wanting the bigger one. Then I almost screwed up too. About 1/2 way thru packing the truck I figured we were gonna have room left over so I started packing looser and sloppier. As it was I just barely got all my stuff in the truck. Had I continued packing the way I started I would have had room left over. But I am glad that we did end up getting the bigger truck. Cost wasn't much different from the smaller truck. I got rid of so much stuff when we moved out of ME that Kelly and I fit everything into a 5x10 storage room!

Will your son be able to fit what's left over into the trailer so that he only will have to make one trip?? I sure hope so!!!

Judy, I'm really sorry things went so badly. Through all of this, be sure and take care of your toe too. Swelling did not sound good. Hope you have an easier day tomorrow with no toddlers and that everything smooths out for you.

Echo, you were a lot smarter than I was to insist on a bigger truck!!

Luckily I had rented a 10x20' storage facility--thiinking at the time it was much too big. In fact, stuff barely fit in, although there is a bit of room for my son't motorcycle. How did I end up with so much stuff?? Admittedly, the storage was not packed as tight as it could have been.

Now problem is that my recliner that was supposed to go in the RV is missing, buried in the storage room. Instead of getting my son to get it, I will call the two movers tomorrow who live locally and get them to help me dig it out.

I got a shower and a fairly good night's rest last night. Sitting here with three little grandchildren surrounding me makes up for a lot of the misery. Going out to RV as soon as my daughter in law gets back from grocery shopping. Toe is much better bandaged and feeling better. It was a little more swollen yesterday, but I don't think I did any damage.

Sounds like you are making progress, Judy. Amazing how we accumulate clothes when we have the closet space...and even when we don't. I carry 5 pairs of jeans, but could get by with 2 or 3. I do laundry before I use them all up.
