BJ: It wasn't an RV trip. Just an afternoon out as it is not far from home.

Dawn: What time frame were you in the area?

First time was around 1958 because John was born there and he was born in 58. Next was transferring from Ft. Bliss. We were there from 1965 to summer 1967. I was going into the 7th grade when we moved back to Connecticut from there. I remember quite a few things, but not that refuge. My Dad taught missile technology. He was in Army, but assigned to NATO for a lot of years.

If it was that long ago there is probably little left you would recognize; Huntsville has really grown. However, the wildlife refuge has been here since the late 1930s. When you get your motor home think about including a trip back to see for yourself. I'd love to meet you.
I'm expecting Paulette later this month. She lived here once and wants to see if she can find where she went to high school.

Wheeeee...Wendy and Sarah are ready to take it down the road....

I like the comment that Sarah needed more stuff!...so CW it is......

Less on campground...more for the gas tank! You two might even make it back out of state. Enjoy your travels! ...and remember the camera!

That's a great idea to come your way. Mom would remember more than me. I think she worked both at GE and then a music store, if I remember right. I will let you know so maybe we can meet up at some point.

That would be great, Dawn. The only time I might be gone any length of time may be this winter (hope to get to FL for a while).
Tina - tell Nan that Wendy has decided to take over for Nan while she is on the road. She claims she is that good at helping spend someone else $$$$ at CW  Guess I'm lucky there isn't a CW any closer to me.

Congrats on the passes! I need to get mine now, too. Not sure if I will wait until I get back to Ocala, or drive to Saratoga Springs to get one in a Fed. Park down there. That's about a 3 hour drive for me, one way, and with gas prices being what they are, chances are I will wait for Ocala and make a visit to those staying nearby there for next winter as well. I have no place to use my Senior Pass up here, so......

By the time I get mine, I will be so far beyond the "Golden Age" it will be ridiculous!

That was very interesting! A place to add to my list for next visit in Huntsville! Congrats on getting those passes...do take advantage.
