Friday, Isn't it Wonderful....We weathered the Storm here in supposedly Sunny Florida...and I sure do hope you all did just as well... I know this has been a strange year for some wild and crazy weather and for life in General...One thing though, we have each other..to yell, laugh, cry and just whine ifn' we have too....and really think about this one...Where else could ya do that and get away with it Shoot it's gets better and better and we get new members..We can just start all over again...Lovin every minute of it too !!!! Alrighty...Now for my walk through the pages of your lives...doesn't get any better folks...

I was told that about the portable GPS systems just recently but you know never gave it a thought about the TV's cause I have an older TV...thank the Lord..but no I don't leave my laptop in there cause I'm using it here one good thingy.... but yeppers I know everyone is running out and takin out what they can.... My kitchen table is set and plenty of room around my table.... Thanks for the run-down Zeee,... it's a great way to start our day. As for me,... we only got 5" of snow,.... whew. don't need more than that! So far our schools aren't closing, some to the south are going with a 2 hr. delay. So it's business as usual in the Adirondacks.

Last night's basketball games were all blowouts in our favor. Our girls j.v. and varsity and the boy's varsity all won by huge leads. My DGD had a great game and added to her strong defensive rebounding and blocking by making 6 pts. She's never been a strong shooter, but that's now falling into place too. That girl loves basketball! OK, enough proud gramma,.... gotta get ready for work. No snow day to be had here!

Thank you, Barb, I didn't realize I'd posted the date. Cool--as of today, I'm now old enough to get a Golden Age Pass. Guess I'll have to make a special stop at Carlsbad Caverns on the way west. Never been there.

Have a great day, all of you. Today's my last day here in Coffeyville--heading down to Tulsa later on this morning for a few days, then to Mineral Wells, Texas, then west to San Diego. Hopefully I'll beat whatever nasty weather is in store up here.

Gooooood Morning Sistahs!!!

WOOOOHOOOO Barbz in the kitchen making it smell gooooood and making it rock! It's gonna be a good day now! Didn't get much of a chance to read thru the postings last night, only a few. So the recap was a good thing.

I have no idea what has gotten into David?? He has been into a cleaning mode this past week. I came home last night and the mountain of dishes were all done. Oh my god I was so grateful to see them all done up. I told Kelly night before last that it was a good thing Friday was almost here so that I would have time to get into the dishes and some cleaning. We've been getting home late enough that the last thing I want to do is housework. David also straightened up the living room and swept the floor. It looks so good in here. ??? Hey ??? Ya think maybe he's reverted back to kid stage cause Santa is coming? Actually I'm not 100% sure who has done the dishes the last 2 times? He and Jenny have both taken credit. Hmmmm?

Kelly and I only have to do 4hrs at work today as it is really suppose to be our day off. So when we get done with work we are gonna go do what little Christmas shopping we can do for this year. Have no freaking idea what to get anyone. I have gotten Jenny and Kelly one gift each so far. I've decided to get David a cooler so he wont have to steal mine anymore. Plus once we all move out of here mine wont be so handy anymore. I will probably resort to getting them gift cards? Tho the kids will need silverware in their own place. I got David a set of dishes for 4 a couple of years ago so they will at least have them. Might have Kelly dig out her pots and pans and let them use them until they get their own. ~sigh~ I'm giving myself brain strain trying to think of what to get!!!

Stupid weatherman!! They were calling for 2"-4" inches of snow last night. HA! It was to warm to snow last night but the temp now out there is right at freezing. And the roads are wet from rain. They just might turn nasty if they freeze. I think our snow got hijacked and snownapped in Louisiana. Hmmmmm I just betcha that they had no idea down there what to do with it. LOL Probably the only people not having heart failure looking out their windows were the transplants from the north. Damn Yankees!!!

Ok time to go read email, get my comic fix and then get my butt dressed and ready for work. Blech!!!!!

Good to see you in your kitchen Barbzeee. I grabbed some hot chocolate and some cookies!! That is a pre-breakfast!! LOL. We got just enough snow and ice to close the schools but it will melt. Most of our snow we got melted then froze!!

I got some boxes with Christmas goodies ready to mail out to a few friends . I will have to wait till the ice melts, which it will by mid morning. We are right at the freezing mark. When I see cars coming up the hill, I will know it is safe to get out!!!

Good to hear from you Barb. well now, I don't know if the ladies are ready for my penguin tracks in the snow. Really enjoyed the heads up today as I am busy make pots of soup and cooking a roast before I go to the movies at 12. Have to go by myself because hubby doesn't support Hollywood!! Well, it gives me something to look forward to and to know supper will be done when I get home is an added point.

GOOD MORNING Ladies! excitement for three days in a row I have been signed in when I got here. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. We are going to hit the road today heading south still. Might stop at Quartzsite - depending on if there is any room. No wind today so good day to go.
Barb so good to see you leading this off. Just makes it feel right. Every once on a while some one will mention orange biscuits. Does any one remember Home Ec class in high school when we had to make baking powder biscuits then stick a sugar cube dipped in orange juice in the middle of them. Then bake them. That's the one class I never did good in. In fact almost flunked it the year it was sewing. - ah memories.

The sun is about to peek over the horizon here out west.

The wild turkey flock, now numbering about 80 came in to feed about an hour ago. They come right up to the motorhome door or the door at the house hollering at us to come toss out some grain. After eating the males get all bushed out and struck like they think they are something special! Yesterday morning as we were leaving for our trip to Rapid City they all stood there and gobbled at us. By the way only the males gobble and only when in strutting mode. The rest of the time they sort of make an urk urk sound. They keep the snow scratched off the barnyarn.

I could use some coffee today. I got up, fed the turks and cats, took pills now am waiting for time to eat (need to wait at least 30 minutes).

In Rapid City we had snow off and on all day yesterday. The roads were fine, mostly only wet with some slushy spots. We'd go into a store and it would be sunny then come out and it's be snowing hard. It did that back and forth all day. By late afternoon the temp started to drop enough ice began to from so we headed home. We still have snow cover here. And guess what tomorrow we get that big arctic blast coming through. Snow and wind will arrive tomorrow with our high Sunday coming about midnight at about 10 and it will be downhill from there. We could drop to -11 they say. The snow amounts will be slight, maybe only a couple of inches. It's the cutting wind we are all regretting. We'll needs lots of hot cocoa then!

So today we will split fire wood and try to get the foam board skirted around the motorhome secured enough 50+ mph winds won't blow it away. We have plenty of propane so we should be ok on fuel until next month.

Well, the sun is out, its been several days since we've seen it. Cold this morning, don't know if its upbove freezing yet or not. Maggie, wanted to sniff everything and just have a jolly good time out there and I was cold. We compromised, she finally hurried when I quit fussing at her

Gosh quite a few at the table this morning, see what you do for us, Zeee? The recap was great to have this morning. I am trying to finish off my Christmas cards, and shouldn't be on here long. I like to write in most, especially the older family and friends I still have. Or I should say, some of my Mother's friends that are still here, my friends now.

Hope everyone has a great day, stay safe and a lot of you need to stay warm. Thinking about you Soos and Cedar, when I had the weather channel on really early this morning. Wondering how your roads were for travel, when you both have to leave so early.

Thanks for thinking of us Carol,.. but it is just fine here. The little bit of snow we got was plowed off the highways. although we were hoping for a snow day at home from school it was not to be. I drove out of my long driveway not even needed my 4WD on my Ford Escape. Probably Mother Nature is giving me this just for practice on what is ahead later in the winter!

All is well here in the mountains! We got more snow this morning than we had all last night-----probably have a total of over a foot of new stuff now. And it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Drive to work was sketchy...black ice under snow, deep snow in my driveway....but my 4-wheel drive truck just cruised right along at about 35 mph all the way (13 miles) to Saranac Lake. Snow plow ahead of a long line of cars kept us in check!

Coming home tonight, roads mostly clear. Supposed to go well below zero F. tonight, so I will need to get my wood fire up and zipping!

Tomorrow I hope to ski and try out my new/recycled bindings that I can now STEP into!!! I traded my new ones that I had to clamp by hand (and HATED) for these that our science teacher had....he's the cross-country ski coach, also......and he installed them for me! Get your sleep tonight, Molly, as we are hitting the trails tomorrow!!!!

Time to eat now and feed Twitch, (my 20 year old cat) Molly, and me. Happy weekend!

Bummer! No snow for us, just cold temps and wind. Personally I think it would be awesome if it would snow about 6" or more here for Christmas. Then it can all go away up north!!!

By dang I just bet them southerners down there in LA were fit to be tied when they saw what they had!!! Probably shut the whole blessed area down.

And I don't think that there's to many things more beautiful that the landscape during and right after a fresh snow fall. All clean, bright, white and pristine. All the junk, gunk and dirt is hidden. Then the snowplows, cars, kids and dogs got to go and mess that perfect velvety scene.
