Sunday Morn

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Morn

Well, it's still Sat night for me, but about the only way I'll be in a morning post when it's still morning for most of you.

Made it through our regular cruise yesterday - whales, whales and more fun whales (we had them all around the boat for quite awhile). Got back to dock, did a quick clean and boarded again with a wedding group. Headed back out (this is after 9 pm now) with them and took a leisurely cruise to one of the local glaciers where they got married. Then leisurely cruised about till about 12:30 am. Good people. One drunk guest - before they ever got on the boat - made for a few interesting moments. Like when she came and asked me how to get off lolol. Needless to say - unless she wanted to swim back, she was stuck for the duration. She stayed. I think her husband or boyfriend was very embarrassed by her - but everyone pretty much ignored her.

Okies, I'm off to bed. Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning ladies. Beth that's sounds like an exciting job. The whales I mean, not the drunk. I had a good Saturday hiking and geocaching with some of the campers here. The trails in the park are great and there are some interesting hiding techniques being used for the geocaches. I think I hiked close to 5 miles yesterday. Then I woke up this morning at 4:30 with some really painful leg cramps. Stupid me, I didn't hydrate enough while I was hiking. Nice reminder with leg cramps all morning.

It started raining around midnight and has rained off and on since. Supposed to rain all day and into Tuesday. Yuck. I have 21 campsites full but they are all checking out today which means they will be packing up in between showers and lined up at the dump station in the rain. Then I will have the place to myself until a new camper shows up. Should be a quiet Sunday once they are all gone.

GOOD SUNNY SUNDAY MORNING TO ALL!

Very nice to see Beth opening up the coffee shop this morning, and hear how what fun (albeit hard work and long hours) her job is becoming. I cannot believe I would be able to hold my tongue if people are allowing their kids to run amok on a boat----or even just run around. I have a very difficult time when this happens in a restaurant, let alone aboard a ship. What a great idea for a marriage that couple had! At least the bride and groom were not drunk as was one of their friends!

Lori, it's good to hear from you! Sounds as if you are having a good time with family these days!

It sounds as if Horizon seeker is having a fun time at her park for the summer! I am thinking of setting up a treasure-hunt/geocaching activity for the Ruckus this year, perhaps----can you tell me about those clever ways to hide the things?? :)

The sun is out, the temperature is already at 61 degrees, and the deer flies are as multitudinous and viscious as I have EVER seen them up here, for some strange reason. In the old days, deer flies were never about until August, whereas this time of year we were battling black flies. And in August, they were about for only a couple of weeks in numbers that were tolerable, even when the kids were swimming all day at the pond. The deer flies are now so thick I can't even realize any black flies at this point! I bought some wipe-on insect repellant for Molly and Dinah last time I was at the vet's, and it seems to keep them from covering them with so many of their biting souls that it was getting difficult to see the dogs----and I am not kidding! My old black fly hats with the screening coming from the brim and tying around the neck are looking good right now. When we go for a walk, after I cover us all with repellant, they are so thick that it is hard to breathe. I cannot imagine what has caused such an explosion of these dastardly things. I can only hope thye don't last too long.

I unloaded the things for the leanto from the back of my truck yesterday, including the generator to run the vacuum and charge my 12 volt batteries to run my mini TV and radio, but the flies were too numerous down there to allow the dogs to stay out. I will have to wait and see if the numbers dwindle down before I tackle that job, I guess.

I went to the doctor's and got my prescriptions refilled, made an appointment for my annual woman's stuff, picked up my new meds, shuffled more stuff around, went to the dump, visited Issy down the road last evening, where we discussed all of our various adventures we have shared over the 30 some-odd years we have been friends and had some laughs!

Today it is so nice, but so buggy out, I guess I will be forced to spend my time back sorting through the books and records inside----what a waste of such great weather!

Time to go check my Tin Cat multi-mouse live traps to see if we have to go release more of the little critters. Happy sunday to all!

good morning ladies
wedding on the boat, now thats a novel idea. Was the bride all decked out in wedding dress
and all or did she just dress special?
Got alot accomplished yesterday, put in the new wardrobe, which took away Gracies hiding
spot when she gets scared so had to put in a shelf under my desk so she had another spot
to crawl into for hiding. She hasn't discovered it yet, I will leave that up to her.
Probably should clean dog beds today, that will help freshen up the room. Doing a lot of
little things to keep it all tidy. Its also time for me to do bathroom patrol and get that
cleaned. Get all that done and then its off to Alaska on the girls blogs.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

GRRRRRR! I am so mad at myself right now!!! I had a nice morning coffee post all typed up and ready to post when I accidentally clicked on the x to close it instead of the + sign to bring up a new blank page. I was gonna google a word to check my spelling. OHHHH that is so frustrating!

Any way, I am feeling pretty good this morning. I slept like a rock last night. I know that Kelly was saying something to me as my head hit the pillow but was already so far gone to sleepy bye land that I couldn't answer her!!! I have been having trouble sleeping and waking up off and on thru the night. Not last night!! And I must have gotten some good sleep as I woke up before my alarm went off and got up.

It's raining here and it feels like it might be one of those all day drizzles. The weather man said it was gonna but with this being a day off of work for me? Yeah, I figured it would rain. ~sigh~

Gonna go to Sevierville today to do a couple of things then to WalMart to find Kelly a pair of khakis for her new job. Yuck, I don't like most khakis. The light ones, no. The dark one, yes.

OK, off to read and catch up. Hope ya'll have a great day doing what ever it is your gonna be doing and please make sure that ya'll do it safely!!

Love to all

Beth, when you said no alcohol served I thought about the 'creativity' of a drinker. No doubt there will be trips to the bathroom to take a swig from a flask..Has your Captain told you what to watch for in this event? Inebriated people can cause real problems and you might get to use your rescue training :o
Soos, I guess we have to deal with some kind of aggravating insects wherever we live. I imagined your beautiful adirondacks had nothing like this. Here in Arkansas I am a little amused at how many are putting in outdoor kitchens and elaborate outdoor decor when we have only April and maybe part of May before the flies, mosquitoes and ticks are out in force. The drop down screens help some but insects will find their way to food and the heat is unbearable in later June, July, August and even September. A pool to jump into is a must...
I have gone lopping crazy around my homestead. I have half of my holly bushes cut down. I decided to cut down some unwanted bushes around my pond and waterfall and while getting to one of them my foot slipped on a rock and I splattered. I looked around to see if anyone saw me..no one did. Today I have a very ugly arm and leg..Last year I fell into my pond..short time later found a water moccasin in it and wondered if that snake was in there when I fell in.
