I have decided that a roll off dumpster is a good thing for me and Monday I am going to call to get cost (hopefully I will get a deal through work). Then hopefully I can make that happen next week then it will be time to kick butt and take no names. This journey I just returned from was a good way to find that I am not totally ready to full time yet, but I hope it will happen in the fall. So now is a good time to clean out the STUFF!

Love the dumpster idea!!

I thought I had enough boxes, but now am getting worried. Got to really "get packing" tomorrow, if you know what I mean! Biggest problem is that I no longer have any transportation and will not be able to drive most of next week. I do have friends who have offered boxes but it is just so hard to estimate right now.

I think I am going to take photos of my mess, to remind me in future years not to accumulate so much junk!

OK, will pack up the rest of my books right now. Have spent most of today and last night polishing up some family silver that will go to my sons. Not a lot of it, but what will I need of it from now on? Time it goes to the next generation. Friday, I cleaned out my old dishes and packed them and some assorted serving platters I got for wedding gifts decades ago for garage sale. Also, got to clear off bed in second bedroom so my son has a place to sleep tomorrow night when he comes to take me to my surgery on Monday. Guess he also needs a path to the bathroom??

Yup, Judy, I figure you better clear him a path to the bathroom. LOL

Yeah but now even tho I still have to much 'stuff'? It will all fit in the trailer and the back of the truck!! I want to pare down even more. Get rid of half of my clothes, plastic ware, extra blankets and towels. And a whole bunch of paper work. Most all of that is gonna get burnt in the fire ring.

As to being a glutton for punishment?? I agree that I'm something!!! :D :D :D

OK, I have made some progress today. I cleared the bed off in my guestroom by packing up three more cartons and taping them shut. I also started dragging some of the garage sale stuff down to the garage. Also moved stuff around in the bedroom so my son can get to the bed and cleared a path to the bathroom, which was a necessity. (I still need to remove the dust ruffle and bedspread from the bed for the garage sale, leaving him with sheets and a blanket.) Also, packed up a small box of books. Boy, it is hard to let go of books!! I may pack some into a box for reading next year or the year after. I already have as many books in the motorhome as I can manage.

And finally, I packed up a lot of my bathroom things into a small case that will go in the motorhome. Also, started packing my parents chandelier up--I will personally watch this be loaded since it has some irreplaceable curved and etched glass on it.

Frankly, this whole process is exhausting and overwhelming. I dread moving day next Saturday. And I still have seven 8-10 page research papers to grade by Tuesday night, plus listen to 21 oral presentations videos before next weekend. Luckily, final exams grade themselves, and I have until the 20th to turn in grades for the semester.

Oh my, Judy. You make me feel so bad. I have done nothing today. Never even got out of my pajamas. I cannot remember the last time I have done this. I slept most of the day with a cold, dark facecloth over my eyes. My migraine finally is just a dull ache. Everything I was going to pack is still right where it was yesterday. Hopefully tomorrow I will get double done, but I doubt it. All I can think of is, You Go Girl! You will finished long before me.

Judy when my husband retired we had a lot of books thought the home town library would want them but no they wanted a few but not as many as we thought they would...so we took them to Quartzsite AZ donated close to a thousand makes a big impact they remember you when you do things like that!!!! so I would suggest finding small towns with small library's and donate DH has gone to the library many times and checked out his "own books" and reread! you will find a home for them

Dawn, I had that same cold the week before last after hanging around with my grandchildren and wiping runny noses. It really wiped me out for a few days. I never seem to get sick unless I spend time around kids!

Excellent point about the small town library, Sheila. My mother used to live in a tiny resort town, and I know the library shelves were a lot barer than the big town libarary. I have strange reading tastes, but will keep my books until I find a very small town library!!

Condo looks a lot better now that the garage sale stuff is mostly gone with my son back to Ohio. The guy who will carry some old dressers and stuff to the garage for pickup will be here tomorrow morning also, so that will give me one almost empty too to use as a box staging area.

Achy toe and being still sleepy from anesthesia means an early bedtime tonight--no packing obviously.

Don't you dare try to pack anything tonight. Get your butt in a chair and stay there.
