SATURDAY MIGHT BE SUNNIER!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SATURDAY MIGHT BE SUNNIER!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I don't have any goodies here, but have some of last year's frozen wild blueberries which are getting very high appraisals lately for being one of the best antioxidants known to man. I need to add them to some yogurt for my breakfast, along with some walnuts which are also a good source of protein.

Yesterday I emptied four sections of the five-section antique take-apart-library bookcase, and sorted books. (The last section is old 33 record albums) My keep pile is rather large, but so is the toss/giveaway pile. My personal pile is small and has some very poignant things in it, including diaries from the 50s, pictures from the long ago, my Sekavitsky Book full of treasures and my learning how to count and write atempts, and more. These things would mean not much to anyone but me down the line. I named my Sekavitsky Book with that term for who-knows-why way back in the 40s! It's really a stamp collector's book that my Uncle Dick gave to me when he visited during World War II when he was in the navy. I have treasured it for all my life, nearly. I also have a smaller pile of antique books that might be worth some money, but have no interest to me.

Today is dump day and burn paper day, followed by whatever the weather dictates. It's only 48 degrees outside now, but it's expected to get into the 70s later on. I would really like to get to the pond. My new dog zapper collars came yesterday, and I am going to try those out on my walk today. I am hoping I can opt for just sound and vibration for corrections, with the elecric shock a last resort. We shall see as I read the manual I downloaded from the net. It will take me some time to learn about how to program it, but at least this set has already identified with the remote controller, which is something my first set did not do.

Happy Saturday to all, wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Soos I don't have any goodies here either. Just have never been one of those things I buy and keep in the house. Always figured that the 'goodie' money could be better spent on regular groceries and really couldn't waste the money on goodies! ;) I do have some honey & nut toasted oat cereal but that's it.

Sadly I was woke up this morning before 7:30 by my son texting me. Gads, dang kid!!! I did not want to be woken up and to get up that early. I have to work 1pm to close and tho I wont be working really late, I just wanted to sleep this morning. Sent him a text back about waking me up and haven't gotten anything else from him. Been real quiet!! But the damage is done and I am awake and up. I will have to see about "paying" him back for sure!

Weather is great here, it's been in the mid to high 70's. I have tomorrow off and then my regular Tues and Weds off. And if you guessed that it's suppose to rain on those 3 days that I have off? Yep, you guessed right! Why??? Why does it always seem to rain on the days that we have off from work and as soon as the work day gets here the weather goes back to being beautiful. One of lifes mysteries. Blah!!!

Dread going into work today. Saturdays are super busy so that means that I will be working my azz off. Suppose to start working out on the line this coming week for a few days tho. I sure hope so. If not, I am tired of waiting and will either go to HR and ask for a transfer or look outside the park for a different job al together. Kelly goes to orientation for WalMart on Thursday I think. Don't know what kind of hours she will get but she will be getting $7.70 per hour. That's 30 cents more that what I am getting at the park. Plus she will still be working here doing the bathrooms at the campground. That extra money coming in will be fantastic. YAY! ;)

OK, off to read. Hope everyone has a super great day, has lots of fun and stays safe at all times. And I hope the sun is shining in your little corner of the world.

Love to all

Good morning, Wow, what great news, Echo has a new home !! Hang in there Echo, things are on there way up. Dawn what a wonderful thing you have done. Soos, you did wonders yesterday, where I slow down is going through all of my books, have gotten rid of a lot, BUT. LOL

Beautiful here this morning, Son and Grandson off to competitions today. As usual I have a few projects in here to do and of course, play on computer and read. Took Maggie out for a wee walk, to shade of the barn, not far, but out of sun, which I am not supposed to be in, but gosh feels so good. Its so nice to be here, I love it out here, so peaceful, so much work, maybe I can help again, which I love too. Anyway, as you see not much going on here, with me, but enough.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Great day, in all that work find a few mins. for yourself.

Enjoy your day, and be safe

Good morning Soos, Echo, and all who follow. I woke up around 5am realizing my airbed was deflating slowly. Didn't want to wake anyone with the noise of reinflating it, so I have been laying here awake for a couple hours unable to get back to sleep. Also have a lot on my mind, so can't relax much anyways.

Echo, maybe you could try for a job at Walmart too, since it pays more and would obviously be an easier job for you. So glad to hear you are getting a new trailer!

I am thinking more seriously about heading to Florida. My income here isn't going up and the cost of living isn't going down, so if I want to get a decent place of my own, I need to live in a more affordable place. On Monday, I am going to apply for my cosmotology license in Florida and get that started, since I hear it can take awhile to get.

It is going to be a very long day today. Am working for 9 1/2 hours, and with just 5 hours of sleep, I will be wiped out by the end of the day! I will need to find the leak in my air bed tonight so I can get a good nights sleep for tomorrow!

PS> CArol, you snuck in ahead of me! Are you in Colorado now? What area does your son live in? Take it easy for awhile until you get back to full health!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

good morning ladies
Soos, I used to have alot of books too, and many of them were antique. I took them to a
used bookstore and got money for them, it wasn't much but it was well worth it. They
paid me average of $2 to $3 per book but I had a whole carload in the backseat. By the
time I got out of there I had almost $300.
Today is laundry day, did my bed yesterday though but today I'm doing up the regular
clothes and also pulling the stuff out of closet I made to get it washed up so I can
hang it in the wardrobe I bought ($9) to keep the dust and stuff off of it. I had bought
one last year when I made the closet and I've kept all my white uniform shirts in it. Made
the closet with measurements to accommodate two of the hanging wardrobe units.
Some days I get real motivated to do things and other days I just want to kick back.
So, I want to get things done so I can get the sewing machine out and get started
on a baby quilt. Will save getting the afghan done until I go back to work cause I can
do that in the bus.
Time for a fresh cup of coffee and get that washer going. Ya'll have a great day and
be safe.

It looks like it could rain and the temperature is only 83 so far. The other day it got up to 100. I think most of the rain is offshore and to the East of here but more suppose to be coming from Texas.

Yesterday I woke up with a bad headache and cold. Spent most of the day in bed taking aspirin every 4 hours and sinus medicine trying to get my nose stopped. I can't remember the last time I had a cold. I am seldom sick but leave it to me to pick up something when I travel.

I have been reading recipes for Scones and thinking about making some for a while. I have a couple of boxes of biscuit mix that need to be used so I got the idea of trying to make scones with one of those. I added 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup butter, replaced 1/4 cup of the milk with sour cream and added a cup of dried blueberries. They turned out pretty good. I have only eaten scones once at a fair so not real familiar with how they are suppose to taste.

Last week I called the newspaper to change my subscription from daily to just weekends. They stopped it on time but guess what, no paper yesterday and today. GRRRRR Why can't companies get things right. Every time the delivery person changes I have to tell them where they can drive and not drive so DH doesn't have a fit because they are turning around in the yard. He can't stand ruts. If I didn't have to drive 10 miles to try to find a Sunday paper I wouldn't even take the paper at all.

I need to go to town but don't know if that's going to happen. I finally got my motorhome to the shop and it won't be ready until Tuesday. I keep thinking of things I want in there and it's not here. It's like an outside closet. lol

Well all the talk about sorting got me into the mood and this morning I tackled a small bookcase. It looks so nice and I have a stack to give to my friend who does yard sales, if she doesn't want them I'll send to the library book sale with my neighbor who helps with it. I should put the bookcase on eBay as it is wood burned on the top and sides with scenes of a little Dutch girl and boy. Someone put a lot of time an effort into making it.

Martha I put a real scone recipe on for you, I say real because I got it from a UK web site. Here in the states scones are usually more cake like and have too much sugary things in them.

Red.. you should try craigs list instead of ebay for the bookcase. Shipping can be an ordeal for larger items but craigs list targets local buyers.

I have rented a storage room near my son's house in Ohio. Yes, it is an expense to store my furniture and things, but if I got sick or decided I did not like this full-time life, i would have a backup and would not have to repurchase the major furniture pieces.

I am trying to give away as much as I can, but I also have a ton of old photos and things that are meaningful to me. Someday, I will probably decide to get a read stick and brick house and will want my things around me again, so I will pay the cost.

And, Readytotry, a real scone MUST be very fresh and have jam and really heavy whipped cream in the middle!! Wonderful! Melts in your mouth. Wish I had one right now.
