National park loop

Fine tuning my itinerary for my trip later this summer. Anybody been to any of these places? Your reviews, please. Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in KS, Harry Truman Birthplace and Museum, Moon Marble Co in Bonner Springs KS or Bishop's Castle in CO? I love input from my fellow travelers.

Sorry Kellie, I'm no help for you in those areas. Maybe somebody will still see it & offer their experience.

No, but they sound interesting, especially the tallgrass prairie. Maybe in 2013 I will take the more northern route across the country and spend some time through those states. This time I am going farther south.

Truman's birthplace is in MO - I've always intended to go there - haven't yet made it. All the other places are ones I'd definitely put on my list if going past. You can do it and post and let us live them through you for now!

I live in Colorado & have been to Bishop's Castle. It's a structure built by a rather odd guy. It's built out of all sorts of bits & pieces of rock, metal, glass, etc. It is interesting to see if you're in the area. If you have to go a long distance out of your way too see it, I probably wouldn't make that effort. But there's so much to see in Colorado, you could see lots of other stuff besides/in addition to Bishop's.

sorry I can't help either, but I lived most all of my life in Colorado and never even heard of Bishops castle.
I'm gonna have to google that and maybe check it out myself.

The castle was listed in this month's Reader's Digest in article titled something like " best little known attractions in US" It is a little out of my way between Mesa Verde and Pueblo so will wait and see. I will report back to you on any I visit. Herbert Hoover's birthplace is in Iowa. We stopped there last year on our way home. Quite nice.
