Sunday with No Sun

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday with No Sun

Postby Colliemom » Sun Jun 03, 2012 5:21 am

Morning all,

Not much doing for breakfast around this place this morning. Just an Adkins Meal bar, some milk and some strawberries. Not in the mood for anything else right now.

Cloudy and damp is the scene here this morning, but we might see a little sun mixing in later on. It's been raining for two days, so it's time for some sunshine. The rain is much welcomed though, as everything needed a good drink. Was downright chilly though, only in the 40's. Needless to say, we spent most of the two days at work, doing things inside. So hopefully we can get outside today and get back to work on the projects that need to be done before mid June gets here. After that, we start gettting busier in the park.

Ava, sure hope you hear about your disability insurance pretty soon. That will be a relief for you I"m sure. Then you won't have to worry so much about where the next check is coming from to live off.

Everybody else seems to be doing okay, just doing the everyday stuff. The AK women are moving along and so far I haven't heard of the Mounties arresting any crazy women up in Canada as yet. They must be moving through very quietly indeed. I'm waiting to hear that big whoop, when the hit the AK border eventually and it would be great if they could find somebody to take a picture of all of them at the Welcome to Alaska sign. Reading about their adventure so makes me want to get on the road. So guess I will go and catch up with the latest. Have a nice day everyone.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Your weather always seems to get to us here not long after yours, Sue, so I do hope you get more sun than rain or clouds today to give us something good to look forward to!

The day has dawned partly cloudy/sunny, with no strong winds like yesterday morning, and it's 41 degrees out there. The electric heater in here has my home-on-wheels nice and toasty for me and Molly and Dinah. The coffee is hot----decafe Hazlenut these days. My alergies are in full bloom here, so I guess I will take a benedril tablet to stop the running nose and constant sneezing.

If it stays nice today, I may head to the pond with my shop vac and generator and begin getting the leanto ready for camping. The spring peepers and eastern toads are serenading each night, and I would love to stay there to hear that beautiful music. I will also need to set up another screen room down there so I can sit outside by the pond without getting blood sucked by the many insects that attack at this time of the year. If it looks more rainy than sunny, I will tackle something inside the house to destuff and sort and label for sale, giveaway, toss, or save.

I visited with a guy, Chris, who was visiting my neighbor, Issy, yesterday, and who came over here for a bit of reminiscing about the old days when our kids were all little. His wife was staying in Lake Placid for her 40th high school reunion, and he was staying with Issy who befriended him multi years ago when she was renting an apartment to him. He is an old man now! A bit of a shock, but he hasn't changed mentally at all yet! I suppose he thought the same about me! I got the bad news that a mutual friend of ours just died in Sebastian Inlet, FL, of throat cancer. Chris had just gotten back from a visit with him last week, and he died two days later. He said it was not a pleasant way to die, if any way is, actually---but this was torture as he was struggling to breathe every minute of the nights and days. Please lay down all ciggies and chews, y'all.

On a more pleasant note, it's time to get dressed and off to the races, wherever they may be going on today. Happy Sunday to all!

Good Morning all, As I read about two days of rain I was so longing. We were so anxious for the forecast rain. The clouds came dark and beautiful, then the rain came and came down hard for 5 minutes. That perked up my hydrangeas but that was all we got. It was cloudy for the next two days but no more rain.
Soos, your mountain retreat sounds just wonderful. The only drawback from my point of view is way too much work. It seems you spend all summer working your b___ off! Of course that keeps you in shape. j
I have a man coming from Memphis to look at my mh. It looks really good after the detailing. I think I will go ahead and unload it so he can look at every nook and cranny. I really wanted to be satisfied with it but I simply must have a good bed for my bad back.
I am ready for my second mug of java... might even have a small piece of walnut pie..yum yum Today I'm going to make a coconut pie for a friend who just had back surgery.

Aloha y'all. It is sunny and hot here. 83 at 7am. I just got back from my morning walk with Tyler around a peaceful lake filled with lots of waterfowl dependent upon the residents to feed them! Tyler is a bird dog and goes into graceful point every time. But he does not like the water, so the fowl are safe when they retreat to their watery habitat. After eating, I am now sitting here with a cup of my favorite Keurig flavored coffe, Butter Toffee, researching full time RVing and reading the blogs of the adventurous Alaskan wanderers.

good morning ladies
another hot day, and of course I'll be saying that until September. Looking forward to monsoon
season. Got my letter approving my medical leave, (no surprise there) but it doesn't answer
my question about the paycheck from the insurance. So its still a wait and see game. I need
to take my car in and recharge the a/c as it started blowing hot air. Sure can't spend the money
on that until I know something definitive about the budget. Gotta save my money to pay for
internet
Younger grandson is over visiting and of course Gracie is getting tummy troubles with the
noise from his video games on the big screen in the livingroom. Think I'll have a little chat
with him today about that. Maybe I can get him to turn the volume down. You'd think the poor
thing would be over it by now with all the noise saturation she gets here but NOoooooooo,
she just gets sick more often. (and of course her bad teeth doesn't help)
Nothing else going on in my world so before I start rambling, I'm off for another cup of coffee.
Ya'll have a great day. :D

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Kelly is gone to do the bathrooms and I am sitting here on my butt playing on the laptop and watching HDTV. A episode of Yard Crashers is on at the moment.

Yesterday at work wasn't to horrible but it got crazy busy from about 1pm to 5:30pm. I keep waiting to get out of that dish hole! I guess I'm gonna be opening on the live a couple of times this coming week. ?? At least that's what I think the lead guy said. I sure do hope so. Kelly went out and put in a few apps at other places so that she can find a part time job in the evenings. If it wasn't for my hours getting jumped around I too would look for a second part time job. It sure would help out big time. The pay and hours from the park just doesn't stretch far enough. We are juggling pennies all the time and have nothing left over to save. I hate that!!!

Sun is shining and for right now the temp is really nice. The rain we had the other day really helped bring the high temps down. Seeing as it's Sunday just maybe we wont be buried at the restaurant. I like being busy as it makes the time go faster.

OK, off to read and catch up. Hope everyone enjoys the day whatever ya'll are doing. And remember to please stay safe.

Love to all

Goodmorning all! Another beautiful sunny day in SoCal!

Ava, maybe your DGS could wear headphones so the dog wouldn't hear the noise?

Need to clean my bedroom and bath this morning since they posted an ad for my room on CL yesterday and we are already getting calls on it.

Later today, I am going to play with ferrets!! Yay! There is a group out here who is trying to get ferrets legalized in CA, and they are taking photos today for their annual Ferret Calendar. So I am going to watch and play with the fuzzies! Of course it is in a secret, undisclosed location for their protection.

Just 3 of us left at the shop now, so we are very shorthanded. But we each stay busier that way. I made almost $60 in tips yesterday! :D

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Ava, your grandson couldn't wear head phones connected to the TV? I know how Gracie feels, loud noise gets to me too. There are several generations of kids that are going to have hearing problems early. If I start my son's car without turning the radio down it blasts me out. My DH is hard of hearing from farm machinery. If we are watching the same TV program in different rooms I have to turn my volume off to keep it from echoing.

It's in the low 90's but that's still too hot. I'm too lazy to even go get the Sunday paper. I would really like to make a fruit crisp but don't need to be eating that. I'm glad I didn't think about getting ice cream yesterday when I stopped for a loaf of bread.
