Welcome Red, you have jumped in at a good time to enjoy the ones of our group that are Alaska bound. Go back and read their blogs, we're all having fun traveling along. I am currently trying to decide what I want to get for my next RV. I didn't think I could pull a trailer or 5'er but so many have told me the advantages that I'm going to consider it. Maybe you can make the GTG in Canyon lake. There will be a large number of girls there so great chance for those of us who haven't taken in many of them.

However, my confidence is severely lacking when it comes to dealing with repairs, expenses, safety and all that stuff now that I'll be on my own (except for the love and support of Tyler) :D

Think of them no different than the repairs and expenses for either a home or a vehicle - in this case both. I try to keep a certain amount in reserve for them - and so far that works. And a certain amount in reserve for the planned expensive stuff - like the new tires last fall. Then I go work a little harder for a couple months (in this case Amazon the last 2 Christmas seasons) to replenish those reserves.

Welcome - glad to have you with us. Will be interesting to see what you finally choose.

It is a difficult decision when you have little or no experience with RVs. To get motorhome or towable? What if I get a 5ver or TT and don't like it? Or visa verssa?

Hi Red,

Welcome to the forum. I can't wait to hear what you decide on and look forward to meeting you at the GTG in October.
