High!

Postby SueW » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:03 pm

I've been futzing with the Boler... lots of renos were in store, so hubby's been busy, but finally it was my turn. PAINTING!! Exterior ugly gold is out and white and blue are IN! First coat is on and I'm a little whacked out on fumes. :) I also spent 1.5 hours at the fabric store picking out cushion fabric and couldn't decide on anything. Arrrrrrrgh!! (And yes, I did go to the fabric store before I did the painting!) I was concerned that what I liked wasn't bright enough, and then it was too bright, and then it was all flowers... too many choices. It turns out that hubby is fine with really bright colours (who knew?) and the fabric helper person convinced me that I could do stripes on box cushions as long as I did the box strip a solid colour. Smart lady. Anyhow, back tomorrow to pick something out, but AFTER sanding the first coat and before painting the second coat. I'll post before and after pics soon. But wow, the looks like something I want to be seen in now! Too exciting. As soon as it's painted, we'll name her. Or him?

Ava, I love your "goldfish" description. Oh so generous to what was really an ugly "pre" colour.

Here are the before, during and after pics of the painting on the weekend. We started out with "largo blue" for the second colour, but then didn't really like it once it was on, so the second coat become "dark blue". We still have one more coat to go, but I'm really happy with how it's progressed.

Definately the darker blue was a good choice! Have fun finishing it up!

What a fun thing to be doing! I do love the second blue---very good choice of repaint!

I am now looking forward to seeing what is on the inside! I guess I need to go find out where you got this neat rig, and what your plans for it are. I lose track of whose doing what lately! Thanks for the pics.
