Lovely Cool Wednesday morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Lovely Cool Wednesday morning

Postby Redetotry » Wed May 30, 2012 7:38 am

What a relief, the heat wave of the weekend is but a bad memory and this morning is beautiful. Unfortunately we didn't get rain at my house :? the showers stopped just a couple of miles down the road. I guess they didn't get much but would maybe have been enough to help my poor brown yard. I'm having a massage later this morning so I am extra happy.
I am so enjoying all the blogs about the Ak trip but I have a question, at the bottom where you can comment, it asks you to select a profile, what happens if you pick a google account, does it then give a link to your email or ? I've hesitated to reply not know how much information I would be leaving.
Guess I should go water my thirsty plants and flowers. DH will be back next week and can take over but I've actually not minded it too much, it is sort of relaxing. Hope everyone has at least one fun thing on their schedule today.

Good Morning,

The cool air is most welcome here as well. And we did get a good soaking from mom Nature all day Sunday. But Monday was miserable. Storms did roll through Monday evening, but fortunately we got the rain and no bad weather right here. Going to be cool for the next few days with frost predicted for tonight. Glad I don't have plants out. Haven't gotten around to doing anything in that dept. and may not this summer either as I want to make some changes to my planter locations etc., and am waiitng till my deck is cleaned and repainted before doing that. May be awhile before that happens.

Right now there is another mess to deal with. We had some pretty good wind gusts yesterday and they toppled a fairly large section of my one oak tree. Fortunately it broke off about 20 feet up and missed my garage by less than a foot and just brushed down the side of my fence. Otherwise my boss would be getting a call from me this morning telling him I would not be in, but dealing with insurance adjusters, tree service and possibly somebody to fix any damage that might had occured. Had it been more toward the way much taller part of the tree, I think my garage roof wouldn't be here this morning. Whew. So I have a fella who runs a tree service on the side, coming over either tomorrow or Friday evening after he finishes on his other job and will cut and clean up the mess. Photobucket won't let me up load, so i can't post a pic.

I am going to work on the afternoon shift today and tomorrow, startng at 11 a.m. and will work till 7:30. Just today and tomorrow, then back to 8 on Friday. Same for next week. Can live with that. So I am just puttering around on the puter here for a while before heading out the door. I'm sure my dogs are going to be a bit confused in their potty times with this schedule.

Finally got over whatever it was that was ailing me the other day, but still not 100% up there. Maybe getting outside and working will perk me up. Did clean the house up a bit yeserday, ran some errands and cut my front grass, so I am caught up there. Work the rest of the week till next Monday again.

So am off to read some AK blogs and posts from others. Hope you all have a wonderful day today. See you all later.

Good morning BJ, Paulette & everyone!

BJ, I too, am following the blogs of the trip to Alaska. They seem to be having a wonderful time.

It's a cool, damp morning on the eastern shore of MD. It's been raining off & on all morning and right now it's on again. When the rain stops, we plan on putting the 40+ tomato plants I bought yesterday in the garden. The cucumber & squash plants are doing well, so hopefully in a few months, we'll be having lots of fresh veggies, putting up bread & butter pickles & making lots of spaghetti sauce.

We spent the Memorial weekend at a local campground and it was very relaxing. We don't have any outings planned until the 4th of July weekend, which starts on a Wednesday this year. Our annual family reunion is planned for the end of June, so it'll be fun seeing everyone again. Dad's goal is to walk without his walker.

Take care everyone!

Good Morning BJ, Paulette, Sue and Irmi... a lovely cool day here in Normal... wow Sue so glad you did not get damage to your garage and house... that seems to be natures way of pruning the trees... BJ once you sign into google from the blogs you should not have to do it again... at least that is what has worked for me... Oh my Irmi you and Steve have a heavy work load ahead of you but I know you love it... Fresh canned tomatoes is one of the things I miss so much... the ones from the store do not taste good at all but have gotten used to them... and fresh canned not frozen green beans are the best... wow I should find a spot near you and come visit when they are all ripe!!!!
My girlfriend T plants tomatoes and she wants me to come again this year to her private for me only camp ground... down the hill from her house... it even has electric that Russ fixed up for me... well maybe not just me but want to feel like it is! Russ was so impressed when I made 'flat' bacon for BLT"s... they just put a LB of bacon in the pan and stir it up! as you can tell my friend T does not like to cook... she said if I would only come and stay all summer she would buy me anything I wanted if I just would cook!!! I think she exaggerates a lot about my cooking...
I am sad with CArol that she will not be able to make the AK trip with her new MH... I have my map of North America taped to my hall wall and am marking the way as they trek north oh my what an adventure for sure... those ladies are the best...
I have never learned the art of travel and I usually go from point A to point B and do not see anything in between except Wal-Mart! I need a traveling partner to guide me to things unseen yet to me...
Coffee is so good here... I slept in until 8 which is my usual have a load of laundry finished dog fed plant watered... I thought it had gone by the way of the wind but it came back so nicely... my neighbor Cindy came over last night and we gabbed for over an hour... she will water my one lonely plant while I am gone...
I will head for Michigan the end of next week Joy graduates on the 10th... busy time...
Take care everyone... looks like I have been in a gabby mood this morning!

good morning ladies
slept until 7 this morning, I really needed it, woke up yesterday at 4 and was up for the day then last night
I couldn't get to sleep. Finally took a naproxen and an Ultram (pain pill) My eye is much better, and my cheek
and smile too. Not 100% yet but its getting there. I just can't believe the pain in the side of my neck and up
the back side of my head. Tomorrow is my next appt with the Neurologist, hope I get some answers for
the pain.
Nothing planned today. Everyone have a great day.

The weather man says we are going to have a cool front too but it hasn't gotten here yet, it 97. The weather station is saying it's 85 but I don't know who they are talking to.

My big mission today is to bring the dog to the vet and keep him from peeing in the floor. He's an outside dog so thinks it ok to pee on every new smell. I always get there early and walk him around outside for a long time but have to watch him close when we get inside. I hope the $45 a bag dental food the vet recommended is working.

When the fresh tomatoes are for sale here we eat many BLT's. I usually cook bacon in the oven a cookie sheet at a time. It's much easier to bake it but makes it too convenient to eat bacon. Years ago I had a garden and could grow tomatoes but we don't have any luck now. We have tried to grow some in containers but they always get blossom end rot and most ruin.

Today seems to be the day for unwanted phone calls. Some days we get no calls but there have already been 5 this morning. They have started with the political BS and it will only get worse.

Better go clean out my van so Hank can't get into anything on our trip. He managed to find a snack bar on our last trip and was going to eat it paper and all.

Was woken up at 8 am this morning by chainsaws outside my window. They are removing all the plants and bushes around here and putting in all new landscaping. Poor Lola. She liked to hide behind the bushes in the dirt and watch people and dogs walk by. She felt safe there. Now all that is gone. Will have to see what they plant there now.

Haven't decided what I will do today. It is a beautiful day out so I should do something outside. Obviously not here, with all the noise and dust outside from the workers. Maybe check out Poway Lake. Haven't been there yet.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Ava, glad to hear you are improving! Hope the pain goes away soon!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

We had T storms last night. Hasn't really helped the temps or the rain accumulation, but put on quite a noise and light show. Looked out this AM expecting to see debris, wasn't any (Yay). We are to have more T-storms tonight, hope this lost comes with rain. My niece bought Trent on of the Thunder Shirts. He's the only one that is afraid of the storms. The other two could care less, they just get closer and go back to sleep usually. The shirt seems to be working for Trent as he didn't appear to be shaking and shivering as much. It will get another work out tonight.

Ava, glad to hear that you are slowly getting better. Good luck with your next appointment.

Safe travels to all on the road.

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON TO ALL!

We had the thunderstorms and heavy-duty rain most all day yesterday and into the night. But it's been beautiful all day today, low humidity, about 75-80 degrees, bright blue sky. We missed the tornado warnings and didn't get the hail that many communities around me got, thank heavens.

I had to take Molly to the vet's yesterday as she had peed her bed (she has NEVER done that) and was straining to pee constantly outside. I called the vet and he said to try to get a sample, which I did, and it was bloody. While at the bet's she stood up and a great puddle of pee came out of her----I am thinking she might have had a stone which finally came out. She has been taking pain meds to relax the bladder and antibiotics, and she seems just fine today, thankfully.

This morning I got out my wireless fence to surround my trailer, set up some flags, put Dinah on a leash to train her that she should go no further than the warning sound. We did that on and off for a while, and then I let her loose. For the most part, she stayed inside the boundary but for once----she got zapped and it freaked her out---she let out a yelp and came running back. For the rest of the day she has been able to go free in the yard around the trailer. I think she is a fast learner!

I tackled the refrigerator in the yard today with heavy-duty bleach solution. I took it all apart, as much as I was able, and totally cleaned it all. I am leaving it open in the sun now, and perhaps for a few days, and we shall see how bad it might still be. I was very surprised at how little it smelled, actually. The kids think we should give it away, but I think they were too lazy to clean it properly. It could be a much more efficient appliance in the barn than the old electric-gobbling one we have in there now.

Shirl is still playing in the sand/mud in her yard! And Kath is getting ready to head to her granddaughter's graduation in Michigan.

Beth, enjoy your free time while you can!

Heading out now to feed dogs and let them play in their new boundaries!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
