Cold tonight. I think coffee (decaf) with Bailey's Cream. Yummmmm. Yesterday was almost 80 and to night in the mid 20's. Brrrr. Thank heavens for the puppies under the covers - little (?) furry heaters. Threw another log on the fire.

Lori
several years ago I made a baby afghan that had hearts on it sort like the pattern for the najaho afghan. Do you happen to have that pattern?
So enjoyed the hot chocolate Beth thanks for bringing it!

Have to go to arts and crafts to look at that afghan!

Fire feels good....it's 16 F. here this morning. Yesterday at this time it was 43!

Am hoping for that snow from the northeaster that is headed our way, and that it will REALLY pile up and make an insulating layer for our ground. Supposed to arrive either tonight or tomorrow. Have to go check out radar to see for myself.

Thanks for the warmth from last night's coals, and I stoked up the flames so I could use the heat this morning!!

Off I go to see the afghan....

Sheila.....for the last year I have been doing alot of old patterns from "The Yarn Lover's Room" on the internet.....Like you I was looking for a baby cape pattern I made 30 years ago for our son.....also got the pattern for that Tartan Afghan I made for my nephew's wedding last March.....I don't have the web address handy right now, but bet if you google it, you'll find the web site.....maybe they'd have what you are looking for there....good luck in your search....if I find it myself, I'll pass it on.... ;)

It is the smell of the camp fire I love the most, that and the warmth. This is the first camp fire I have found since I started RV'ing. Traveling by myself, I couldn't justify starting one just for myself... that and most of the time I was either so tired from driving or the weather didn't cooperate. At last I found a camp fire to share! Camp fire are suppose to be shared. Thanks for letting me bring my chair over. A brought some breakfast rolls too because they are always suppose to be shared too! I'll wrap the blanket around my shoulders a little more and make sure the dog next to my chair is behaving and not trying to separate you from your breakfast with his eyes. He really, really does get fed at home regardless of what he would like you to think. Until I can make out of Ohio and back on the road to find the real camp fire, this will do just fine. Thanks again for sharing your warmth. I can bring more wood anytime.

Welcome to the campfire, Tina. And Roe is excited to have another fur friend. You're like me, I rarely start up a campfire for just me while traveling, but I do enjoy them when with a group. Glad you joined us, and thanks for the breakfast rolls!

Welcome Bird,.... there is always room at this campfire for more chairs and dogs! :D (and cats too, if they are with us!) I love a campfire and like you, have hesitated to bother building one when alone. I have, but somehow it just isn't the same, is it? I'm glad you are here with us.

Oh, boy, Tina, you made my day. I just love having someone else to share the campfire with! And another dog - wow - don't worry about those begging eyes - if I'm there, those eyes will cause treats to just somehow appear in my hands :)

The warmth of the campfire is great tonight - I'm chilly - but it's not stopping me from having a bit of ice cream. Have more here if anyone would like a bit. Just bring your blanket to wrap in and let the campfire and your blanket keep you warm while you eat it :)

Put another log on the fire!!! Oh he77 better put on a bunch. Ahhhhhhhh That's better!

Well here me sits all by me little lonesome. Well me and Shade that is. Borrowed a few logs to prop my sore tired feets on. Gads I'm bushed. Worked our half day, got out and went to pay the water bill and renew the tags on the Blazer. Then......we went Christmas shopping. My feet are about ready to fall off. I HATE Christmas shopping. Dang nasty rude inconsiderate people. Cut ya off with their vehicles, cut ya off with their shopping buggys, kids squalling, parents yelling, getting my heels smacked by buggys, my toes run over and people who park crooked as crooked can be. I parked dead center in a space. I came out of K-Mart and thought I was gonna have to get into the Blazer from the passenger side!!! I just barely squeezed into it from the drivers door. I hope the corner of my door gouged the billy-b-jeebers out of that turd drivers door on his pickup. grrrrrrrr

We have went easy on spending for this Christmas. None of us have the money to throw around. No goofy gifts everything will be practical and useful. I want to get Jenny a couple more baking dishes then that is it as far as I can think of. Now comes the fun part. wrapping the stuff. Oh joy. ~sigh~ I love to buy things for people but don't like the pressure? Expectations? Oh I don't know. I would just rather buy things for people during the year. Maybe I ought to just start doing that??? Buy something that catches my eye after someone has said something. Wrap it up in Christmas paper, gift it to them then and not bother with the madding hassle of Christmas? Hmmmmm

I'm gonna finish off my mug of coffee and Baileys, take Shade out for one more sniff and tinkle and I'm off to bed. Oh that is gonna feel so good. I love my mattress.

Hope ya'll had a great night!!!

Heat....I need heat.......the wood is getting low again. Everyone is so busy this time of year. I brought I couple of larger logs that we can just slowly feed in. It is easier to keep the fire going even if it is a few coals than to start from scratch. My "scout" skills just aren't that great, I would never make it on Survivor! That is also why I don't tent camp anymore :) I really like dry, warm, and the small wonders of a bathroom and refrigerator....We can take turns tending the fire while everyone is getting the decorations up, the cookie's baked and the presents wrapped. Busy, busy time....but remember to slow down and remember the sense of the season....that and a cup of something tastee to toast with over a warm fire....cheers, to your health and for the blessings of peace where ever we are.

It is raining again in Ohio and the temperatures are scheduled to drop back down again...but this is Ohio so we get used to the roller coaster temp effect. In all we are doing better than those of your huddled in the NE. Here is to heat and electricity all around as quickly as possible. I am just going to check the fire and put a few more logs on so it will be there and the wood will stay dry, but I will be inside under the blanket if you need me.

Thanks for letting us know where you'll be Tina,   the logs may keep it going until you can get out side again. Everyone is either to cold to be out here or off shopping, not many here either and poor Echo, she is to tired to be good company. Hey, Echo, you get any time at all off for Christmas? I sure hope so, as someone else said earlier, it makes me tired to hear of the hours you and Kelly have to put in, just to keep a job. These days guess a job, where there is a paycheck is something, but you need some good rest lady. So I'm hoping for you. You need to do what Tina has done, hide under the covers

Its rainy here and my day hasn't been as productive as I had thought it would be. Guess I'll go and catch up on the rest of the forum.

Stay warm everyone
