Bought sight unseen

Postby retiredhappy » Sat May 26, 2012 10:57 am

As you saw from my other posting I bought my new-to-me rig. I bought it sight unseen with pictures posted on line. bought from Vantastic vans in Albuquerque New Mexico. A large part of their business is done out of state and they posted pictures of every little rock chip and carpet stain on their website. I'm paying to have them deliver it to me in Kerrville (actually about the same as if I went up there to get it) and if I'm not pleased I can refuse to accept it which relieved my mind. Yesterday the salesman, Wilson, did a phone walk-around with me where he described and counted, every little rock chip, scrape, etc and gave the size. When they deliver it to me (on Thursday) they will do a orientation with me to explain how everything works (I already have the manual downloaded and have read it cover to cover). I really thought long and hard about buying sight unseen but decided that I could buy a used rig locally where I had seen it and something could still go wrong in a week or two anyway. there are no guarantees on a used rig that the frig or water heater or ????? won't go out whether or not you've seen it in person. I have to say that so far it has been a pleasure doing business with this outfit (www.vantasticvans.com) and particularly Wilson. I'll let you know if any problems develop after delivery.

Karen, can't wait to hear about your delivery experiences because I just recommmended "Wilson" to a fellow RV'ing Women member who just sold her house, retired from teaching and is looking for a Cls B RV. Your report so far is quite positive. Hoping all lives up to your expectations.
