Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning,

Top O the Morning to you all. Are we all awake yet? Well those of us on the East coast probably are, but those on the Left coast are still snoozing.

Beautiful weather pattern here this week. Sunny and mild with temps in upper 60's, low 70's. Perfect weather to be out enjoying nature or just enjoying being out.

BJ, you want to go camping. Well, pack up and head up here. This time of year in Michigan is hard to beat. Sunny, mild temps, no humidity, everything in bloom and budding out etc., parks aren't crowded etc. Perfect camping time.

I've been busy here with the usual stuff. Shopping, bit of house cleaning, got hair cut, dogs to groomer etc. Spent yesterday working in my backyard, pulling weeds, trimming and cutting the grass etc. Decided in the afternoon that it was time to quit working and go someplace. So got cleaned up, put the furkids in the van and we headed up to Burt Lake State Park where I had planned on working this summer. Had a nice walk in the campground, Tessa got to spend some time wading in the lake at the Dog Beach, I got to see my Supervisor friend and then also had myself a little picnic in the park before we headed home. Was a nice little break. Now it's tme to get ready to head for the "real" working world.

So what's everybody got planned for Memorial Day weekend? Work on this end. Surprisingly, most of the MI StateParks are not full for this weekend. Close on some and not many on others. Guess people are into other things right now. Weather is supposed to be nice with a chance of showers each day.

Boy, the AK bound folks are really making progress and also seem to be having fun. I need more time to read the posts, blogs etc. Haven't caught up to the new people either, so want to extend a Welcome to any new faces on this forum.

Soos, glad to hear the it wasn't anything really serious with Molly. I'm sure she will heal up in time and be back to her old self again. My bed is high too, and I have to give my dogs a boost when they want up. They jump down on their own though although I am thinking of getting a set of steps, but they aren't up there every day. I use a ramp for them to get into the Flex and they are doing really well with that. Sassy has it down to an art now and Tessa is getting there. They learn fast.

Well, got to get dressed for work. Have a wonderful day all. Keep safe those os you on the road.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Decafe Hazlenut coffee here this morning, with some multi-grain English muffins and either peanut butter or cream cheese to top them. The skies are foggied over, the geese have come in for a pond visit, and all's right with the world. It's still fairly warm at 63 degrees, but with 85% humidity. Doors and windows are open here in the trailer.

Molly's foot seems to be getting better every day----she is hard to keep down if I don't have her in a crate, so that's where she will rest for a couple more days, at least. I have a telescoping ramp for the dogs to use when getting in and out of the truck and their crates, but it is quite heavy and cumbersome to use. Hence, I have been lifting Dinah and helping Molly make the jump into the truck, This bed here in the trailer is high, but Molly can usually clear it by a foot over it normally. The fact that she fell back the other night was due to the fact that she had jumped down to hide from the gunshots from a passing car, and then, later, when I was asleep, with my feet in the way in the dark and my slippery sleeping bag hanging down, she misjudged and WHAM! Back she went. Setting up the ramp in this confined space here would make it impossible for me to get aroun and do anything. I need to think of another possibility.

This will be my last full day here, as I will head home tomorrow. The kids' new refrigerator is due to be delivered today, so we can take the old one back to my house tomorrow after Mandy's last conference for a while. She should be leaving now for the one today, but she tends to run late for everything!

The dogs and I will hang around, help Joe with the refrigerator stuff and play with Orion. Tough day, eh?? :)

Hope everyone is having a good morning and can have a great day doing whatever needs to be done, or whatever is fun to do!

P. S. I was logged on when I came here this morning! What the heck??? I am so hoping home will be better as far as connecting and staying logged in.

Good Morning Sue and Soos and all the other women to follow... it is milder here this morning... it will be in the low 80s later after a low in the low 50s... I think we will not see a mild night again for awhile...
Shadow had his yearly check up and shots... he had lost 4 lb and is now at a perfect weight of 17 lb the vet said... he was so nervous that he threw up a bit poor guy was shaking so bad... he also yelps once in a while when he jumps into the bed so the vet suggested a supplement which I did not get at $80 a bottle and also said a step would help him... I will have to see if my son can build a small box...
My son Chuck and grandson Mark are headed back to Columbia today until the 9th when they will return in time for my granddaughter Joy's high school graduation... Mark thinks he is going to volunteer for a year in Columbia to get the workers there trained on the computer systems...
I moved around more yesterday and I believe the knees are much better... my friend Virginia ( she just had a TKR) said the injections take more than a week to take full effect so maybe it will be all better soon...
Sue it sounds like you had a fun day off except for the house work! If all goes well this summer I plan on going to Six Lakes to visit my gf for a while... she has the perfect spot that I park in when I go there... my own secluded camp ground! we saw deer go across the yard between the house and where my MH sits every day last time we were there... one day there were three at the same time all three different ages... I wanted to take a picture but didn't as Shadow would have seen them and started barking and that would have spooked them!!
Soos you will be happy to get home and get your son and daughter in law for their visit... busy time for you... where are more pictures of little Orion?
I trust each of you will have a great day...

Sue, I haven't spent any time in Michigan but did go to Door County a couple of times..This was in August and while we are usually burnt to a crisp here in AR at that time, I marveled over the beautiful wildflowers everywhere. Speaking of weather, it looks like August here already. Usually everything is lush, green and flowers blooming but we are very dry. I water my shrubs, trying to keep them alive but don't worry about my lawn..water is too expensive.
Soos, When you said a gunshot from a passing car caused Molly to get her injury...surely you meant a backfire :o
I need to get dressed now and take Rudy to get his teeth cleaned.
Great day to all!

It has been so beautiful the last few days, but like Kathleen said think that will end by the weekend, weather forecast says 97 but will feel like 102 with heat index. need to get my shopping done as I won't be going out except at night on those days. I feel like about all I do is shop and cook for me and the dogs. Charley has to eat three times a day so that takes time. Waiting on the plumber this morning, I gave all three dogs a bath and the tub has protested. I did use one of those thingies over the drain but guess it didn't work. I did what I could upstairs but there is something downstairs they do when this happens. DH is not inclined toward these things plus he is away teaching a class. Need to get the morning started, Winnie will be running out of patience waiting on her breakfast, and I hear Charley's tummy growling.

good morning ladies
just a quick hello and I'm off to get dressed. Need to go into the bus yard and turn in my keys for summer.
Will take Gracie with me for a little ride and need to do it while its cool and get back before it heats up.
If I time it right I can stop at Dunkin Donuts and have coffee with my bus aide at my layover stop at 7:45.
Catch you all later. Have a great day and try to stay cool.

Good Morning

After 3 long, emotional days helping my friend search thru a lifetime of papers saved by her late husband we are taking today off. The office is complete and all the boxes of paper we could get to/lift from storage building are done. There are 3 foot lockers/trunks we were not able to get to to open so am hoping they are not filled with paper. (My main task has been going thru totally disorganized paper searching for anything important and sorting things some of his children might want.)

I've had a delightful morning here catching up on all the Alaska blogs. Thank you, ladies.

Have to move Magic today. I had rented space at campground for a month but all except for the permanent residents (who work there) have to vacate today and stay gone thru the Memorial weekend as the entire campground is rented for some sort of big annual ralley. (They added these days to the end of my paid period.) I am stressed about this - both at having to drive back thru town and having to leave Magic for the first time without electric and in the blazing heat expected for the weekend. She will be in an unpaved driveway with no shade.

Wishing all a safe fun day.

Sarah, I turn my batteries off when I have to leave mine set for awhile so they don't run down very much.

Kathleen did your vet want to give Shadow Durlactin? If so you can buy it at PetCo or order on line for about $23.00. Also good is Glucosamine & Chondroitin, here are links for both. I don't know if the Duralactin is considered a supplement but it is what our vet gave for early arthritis. I didn't know it was available without a prescription then :(

My vet was great - when Tips needed help - the vet had me get glucosamine with MSM - people's version - at Walmart. It did the trick. And was much, much cheaper.

I use Gluccosamine w/Chondroitin for my knees. The other Glucosamine tablets I've see are pretty big. Shadow is only 17lbs and Beth's dog Tips was a larger dog so be sure if you use them that you cut them down for Shadows weight.
