Sunny Saturday morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Saturday morning

Good Morning all,

Beautiful sunny morning here. A great weekend for anybody wanting to be outdoors. Got to be careful though as we are under a Fire Weather watch and anything can spark one as it's so dry.

Nothing exciting for breakfast here this morning, just an Adkins bar and some fresh strawberries. Going to make my lunch, wash up and head out the door pretty soon. Another busy day at work coming up. We have camps in the park, but I don't know how many. I wasn't in the campground yesterday except for about an hour if even that and that was in the closed loop section. My one co worker and I were on the road going to the 15 boating access sites we have to maintain, checking on them and cleaning the vault toilets if they needed it. Everything was in good shape as they are not being used much right now. Also have a vault toilet at a Cross Country ski/hiking pathway to check on too. So we were gone most of the day. Got back, started to install some new soap dispensers and had to stop and go to Gaylord to pick up a new set of tires for one of our John Deere Gators. So we were on the road a lot yesterday. Benefits of the access trip yesterday included seeing two deer in the road ahead of us, watching some yellow butterflies flying all over around us at one site and listening to a loon cry. I'm not a regular on the access run, but the two who do it are both off work right now. One's father had some surgery (gall bladder) so she is with them right now and the other's wife had a heart attack, so he is at the hospital with her.

Sounds like the AK travelers are making good progress. I need some time to sit down and read up on the adventures. Also to check up on what others are doing or have happening in their lives.

Soos, so glad you are back home and that you were able to pick up and give Orion a good hug. Sounds like you are also getting some "new to you" stuff for your mt. house. I know your heart will soar when you pull into the drive and see your beloved mountains again.

Well, off to work here. Have a wonderful day everyone. And drive carefully if you are on the road.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

I am back to having to log on each time I come to both this site and ORS now----I remember I had a helluva time last year trying to stay logged on. I finally got on this morning after about 12-`15 tries, and closing the page and reopening a number of times. I have no idea what causes this, but it sure does frustrate the pooty out of me. Please forgive me if I can't post now and then. I am hoping things will different when I get back to my own house next Thursday. I need to email Goog to see what I need to get for him to hook up a 30 amp plug for me back there, so I don't have to run an extension cord out through a window from a house plug---20 amps only. It didn't take him much time to do it for me back at his own house.

Last night all of us, including Orion in his stroller, went out and sat around a fire, heard many toads, frogs, night birds and loud coyotes! He was fascinated by the leaping fire flames and all the wonderful sounds.

Aother beautiful, sunny, and warmer day has dawned here. The weather has been absolutely perfect since I arrived---the North Country is welcoming me home. The black fly season and all other bugs have not made thier presence known as yet, either. Dinah shivers in the night cold---I guess she is a true southerner and has never been below freezing ever!

Joe mowed the tall grass yesterday, sawed and split firewood for the winter, and Mandy, Orion, and I weeded the flower gardens. We also took him and his 3 wheeler stroller up on trailes through the woods----he is already a lover of the outdoors!

Don't know the plans for today as yet, but Mandy and Joe will go to St. Lawrence's graduation ceremony tomorrow, and Oey and I will hold down the fort here! My arm strength will be much improved when I leave here! It's like picking up a 25 pound bag of dog food each time you lift him, but compacted into a little package! Maybe more like lifting lead!

Happy Saturday to all, and I am looking forward to more episodes of the Alaska trip! I see there are five of the ladies now heading for the wild state! One to go!

good morning ladies
one day at a time for me to heal, went for my doctor appt yesterday, it was a chore to drive
myself over there, not something I want to do much of right now but we do what we have to.
It was harder coming back cause my car had sat out in the sun and heated up, when I turned
on the a/c it just blew hot air, gonna have to take it in for a recharge. Stopped at the store
to get the dog food cause I couldn't do it earlier as my car had sat too many days and we
had to charge the battery. Don't know whats up with that, trying to remember if we put a
new one in that time it was broke down with the timing belt issue.
Going over to home depot at 7 to get a couple 1X boards to attach a sheet to the ceiling to
diffuse the blasted air from the cooler vent. Need to keep the room cool but the air blowing
is just too much for my eye and I keep turning it off, then son gets hot in the livingroom.
Need to keep everyone happy. He's also scheduled one of his maintenance workers to come
and put filters on those vents so the air is a little cleaner. Since we live near the airport, the
air has a black sooty type dust in it and the stuff that settles on the tile is incredibly dirty.
Hope filters will alleviate that issue.
Also discovered a great way to feed the girls.....had received a coffee grinder for Christmas
from BlueSky when I worked there, decided to put dog kibble in it and grind it up. Then when
I make their meals I add some to it and they eat the entire dish and don't even leave any
of the whole kibbles. They smell it when I stir in a little hot water and just go nuts barking
at me to hurry up making breakfast/dinner.
Ok, time for my last cup of coffee and a little blueberry coffee cake. Ya'll have a great day.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Sounds like the few who have posted this morning are doing well and have plans for the day already. Tho the plans were already made if I'm guessing right!

Nothing much here, the only plans I have other than going to work is to go up and wash out my uniforms. Need to cover my butt don't ya know. I hate that I have white oxford shirts that I have to wear for work. Of all the dummy colors to assign to dishwashers!!! I get so spattered with gunk when spraying off pans and dishes. And I can't get them clean either. Wardrobe suggests bleach or using cascade in the wash water. I'm leery of using to much bleach and I guess I haven't been using enough Cascade? While it did a super number on my bras and restored them to a bright white? It sure didn't seem to do much for my shirts. I guess I will have to use more packets of it in the wash. Tho if I'm gonna do that I will have to buy more or wait until I get my truck back. Dummy me I left it in my truck in Johnson City. Got the laundry soap and softener but not the Cascade.

OK, gonna go check and see what's gone on since my visit last night then I need to get off my duff and go do laundry. Hope everyone has a great day and does it all safely at whatever it is ya'll are gonna do.

Love to all

Since we have had such beautiful days here in the PNW. i have gotton flowers in my pots.. i wasnt going to as i have to find some one to water when i am gone for a few days... its hard to rely on anyone.. Hard to pass up when they are all so beautiful and on display at the flower tables..

i plant the Natstrusiams in the barrels.. they are starting to get big, but they do have color and last into the fall...

No special plans for today.... have to go depose of the grass clippings then go get gas for the pickup for my June camping trip... If it keeps going up it will be harder to go places... with the holidays coming they are jacking up the prices again!!

Good morning, from rainy north east Co. Just a gentle rain and its needed. Maggie made her rush out for first potty just before it started, and we're enjoying hearing it fall on the roof now. Thunder earlier was a different story.

I finally joined the rest of the gang, what a lovely camping area Birdie found for us. Best of all no fee, donations are excepted as there is electric provided for those who want it. We are laying over today . Weather and winds especially predicted sound like non traveling weather. We have a nice group here so staying in place one more day shouldnt be a bad thing.

I'm not hooked to electric here so will keep this short. Not sure how you all are, but I hope well, and that you manage some real enjoyment in each of your days. Each day is a new adventure , doesn't matter where you are, or what you are doing ,it always has the chance of being the Best day of your life!

Safe travels,
CArol :)

Well I missed morning on here but still in my PJs if that counts.
Its been one of those days I may have to give up and start over or just scrap it all together.

As some of you may recall, my dog sitter exchange friend lost her husband suddenly a couple of weeks ago. I've had her dog, Lizzie, for past 8 days while she has gone to LA to be with her son.
I let the dogs out about 6:30 this morning, made coffee and as I started out on porch to enjoy the morning I got only a quick glimpse of Lizzie slivering under a small gap in the gate. She was in hot pursuit of a rabbit. She ran straight into the street at top of driveway as car was speeding down the hill. There was screeching tires and horn blowing as I dropped my coffee cup while calling her. The car missed her but must have been terrifying to her as well as me. I ran back inside, grabbed car keys and went after her. She would not come to me. I'm getting in and out of van, trying everything to entice her while holding up my too big PJs. Lost one of my slippers, must have awaken half the neighborhood shattering what otherwise would have been a quite Saturday morning. My voice is down to a whisper from calling her so loudly. Took almost 3 hours to catch her and then only with the help of a couple of joggers out for their morning run.

Took me several more hours to calm down and get my blood pressure back under control. It would have been devastating to have had to tell my friend I lost her dog even under the best of circumstances. I started crying just thinking about it. Had to keep telling myself all is well that ends well and that Lizzie was back safely in the house and how fortunate it was that Nicky didn't get loose also.

Was expecting my friend back this afternoon. She called a little while ago to tell me she wasn't sure if could get back tonight. She had stopped in Meriden, MS to get gas and accidentally filled car with diesel. Car was being towed to nearby shop where they were going to have to remove gas tank, drain and wash it then reinstall.

At least it sounds like most of yo are having a much better day - well maybe except for Karen who is frustrated about RV shopping. Hang in there, Karen - you'll find one soon.

Oh my Sarah I would not have wanted that kind of morning for sure... but on the lighter side you must have given all the passers by a laugh chasing a dog in pj's... oh my not funny now but maybe later... so glad you got her and that you are also ok... catch your breath...
I am so very late today also... I got my knees injected yesterday... Dr said that they both need replacing... not for me anytime soon... scares me to death thinking of the pain involved... have to have three lazy days not much walking or going up steps...
Christine your daisies are so pretty...

Kathleen - the pain in TKR is only a few weeks and the relief is so much longer lasting. You will know when you are ready but when I had the first one done, it was "why didn't I do it sooner?"

So sorry you had such a rough day, Sarah. I can understand how you felt, and I would still be in my PJs too. Take a hot bath and put on some fresh ones. Tomorrow will be a better day. (((hugs)))

Sarah, what a scary nightmare you had yesterday morning! So glad you were aboe to get the dog back safe and sound. My heart would have jumped out of my chest hearing the screech of those brakes!

Christine, I LOVE your flower pics!

Kath---I have no clue what TKR means, but I assume it has something to do with knee surgery. I say go for whatever works best for you.

I cannot get onto ORS at all this morning, but seem to be ok so far on here----this is now Sunday, so I will try to post a coffee thing for today now. If I don't get back on, sorry about that!

Mandy and I are going to her university's graduation, as she is being highlighted in a speech by one of her students who won a grant. Orion and I will be on the sidelines until she gets back to us.

Molly fell and her herself badly last night when trying to jump back up on my bed. She fell with a thud, waking me up, and was just whimpering on the floor. I was terrified she might have broken her neck or injured her spine, but it's her back left leg----she can put no wieght on it at all. I gave her a derramax pain pill this morning, and will take her to Mandy's vet tomorrow, if I see no improvement. I want to make sure it isn't broken, or her hip dislocated, or something that would need surgery. She also will need more pain pills. I felt the leg all over and can feel no reaks, and I suspect she twisted her hip or knee, or fell wrong on it....at least that's what I am hoping. However, she has eaten her breakfast, I carried her to the yard where she peed and pooped, and then I carried her back in here and made her a soft bed in her hut where she will rest until I get back from graduation. It makes me so sad to see her in such pain.
Sorry to put this info here, but I scared I won't be able to post on here when I send this along.

Soos - is there an emergency vet you can get her into? It sounds like something that really needs to be checked out sooner than later.
