Another great installment, Liz! I am happy you all got together at the beautiful FREE campground! I wonder how they manage to do that? I especially love the black version of the common grey squirrel----they are very beautiful! I have seen just one in my entire life.
And the desks with the inkwells were what I learned to write on, too! We had a job called "inkwell filler-upper" where one of us, with the teacher's guidance, would carry around the jug of ink to fill the little jars that slipped into the wells. We had to Palmer-Method WRITE everything with pens that you dipped into that ink. On my birthday (my 5th) I remember we had to write Happy Birthday on an entire sheet of paper with NO blots or errors. Sigh----I quickly changed from being left-handed to being right-handed in order to avoid smudging the letters with my hand as it passed over them. Ahhhh...memories!
