Great news Ava! Now you can go make funny faces at your doggies for your therapy!

Glad you are back home and it was not more serious.
My husband had a bout with BP. We had to use paper tape to close his eye at night for about a week.

Holy Cow, Ava! I missed all this scary stuff going on with you in the past few days. So happy I could read to the end page and find out no problem with brain, stroke, or one of those transient blockages. Bell's Palsy is scary as heck, as it mimics strokes to a T. A friend of ours had a bout with it when he was about 4 years old, and it totally freaked out his parents, of course! We took lots of pictures of him with his crooked smile and open eye, and he gets a laugh out of them now!

Take it easy with all that prednisone, and rest yourself up!

Well Ava, it's not fun but it sure could have been worse. Hope it doesn't stick around to long to cause you any more misery. Bet the girls are happy to have mom home!

thank you all for your kind words, and Sharon, you are so right, I am totally MISERABLE! This discomfort is such
an annoyance, not painful just totally annoying. I will use my short term disability at work to get me a paycheck
through the summer so I don't have to worry about that. The girls are happy I'm home and especially Pixie, she
has been a little clingy and thats not her style, I suppose it has something to do with the fact that she is blind
and my presence helps her navigate the room. Son was letting the dogs have the roam of the house and she
kept bumping into stuff, she's just not used to that.

Ava, did they give you some thick eye drops? That and a patch will help with the drying.

My mother had botox for a severe eye tic which affected her vision. The injections were given at a university hospital opthmologist. Occasionally, they would overdo the amount and her eye would be stuck open for a couple of weeks. An eye patch and the thicker drops really helped. The drugstore will have them under nightime eye drops, and your pharmacy can help.

The possibility of a stroke must have been frightening, but you did the right thing by going in for help right away. Too many people wait around for it to get better and then have damage.

yep, got the gel eyedrops and a patch, also use the paper tape.
the really hard part though is trying to re-invent how I eat. I'm
just not used to looking at labels and checking for sugars and carbs.

Well Ava, I get busy and miss a few days here and all hell breaks loose! So glad to hear you are home and things were not more serious.

As far as your new diet, I am a diabetic but a change a few months ago to a plant based eating plan (beans, veggies and fresh fruit in moderation) has dropped my blood sugar a lot. I sometimes make comfort food dishes but use mushrooms instead of meat. Delish!

Take care and get feeling great again soon.

And reading labels is such an educational experience. I was on an extremely low fat, but high carb and high protein diet for a year, and was amazed at what did and didn't have fat in it. As time went on, I found more foods that I could eat and that made my diet much better.

I even used a lot of the fast food restaurant web sites for nutritional information. Many list fats, protein, and carbs in everything they serve and give you the options of knowing what is in the condiments. I discovered that half the fat of a McDonald fried fish sandwish, by the way, was in the tartar sauce, not the actual sandwich!! Ditto for mayonaise on stuff.

ENjoy your label reading and hope your eye and face start to improve.
