Listening for the rolling tires

Postby dayspring39 » Sat May 12, 2012 9:35 am

Hello everyone... I am sitting here listing very carefully for the tires as they roll northward... I trust that each of you will have the experience of a lifetime and enjoy yourself whatever lies around the bend in the road...
Liz, Beth, Tina, Mitch, Nan, CArol, Anita and Leroy, and Birdie you will all be in my prayers for your safe travels and much enjoyment... I have a list by my chair and you are all on it...
My heart surges with joy and anticipation as you each leave and send us pictures and notes of your travels...
Take care and watch out for the other fella!

Besides promising my step mother I would brunch with her....Remi had a mishap out in the yard earlier this evening when the neighbors bk lab came through our front open gate and came up to run the fence where the dogs are in the yard. It drives Stuart and Remi crazy eh en he does that. He is suppose to have an electronic collar on that keeps him in his yard but it I snt very dependable . This is the second time that Remi has been hurt by his coming up to the fence. I really don't know if the other dog bites through the fence or if Remi just bites at the fence and injures his mouth that way. I am meeting the vet at the office tomorrow morning at 8:30. I also figured that Remi was feeling left out since he wasn't part of the vet visit on Thursday. Silly boy he could have used his share of our annual vet budget to much better purpose .....like gas money to Alaska.....sigh. :?

Hope Remi is feeling better after his vet visit. I know how those visits seem to shrink the wallet quickly.

I have arrived. caught up with Liz in Illinois yesterday. We are now waiting on Mitch to arrive and then we are heading out for today's adventure. Found gas in Arkansas for 3.33 a gallon, but then it jumped right back up here in Illinois. Hope to find some more great prices. Good trip so far except for the washboard interstate. But alas that is part of the adventure.

Sure hope Remi is feeling a lot better. It is a bad feeling when our fur babies are hurt. Off to dump and get water...onnnnnnnnnnnn to ALASKA!!!

By now, Remi is probably in or near la la land. Sure hope the injury is a minor one. By the way, when do you leave where do you meet the others?

Sophie and Buddy send Remi their doggy hugs and want him to feel better. Maybe your neighbor should pay the vet bill. Might make them keep their dog under control.

I totally agree with that, Karen! They also need to put a fence up for that Lab! Chewy sends errrrr's and hope Remi feels better soon!

Driving back from the vets...I kept thinking of those Judge Judy segments regarding vet bills..  Remi has a few stitches that well melt away in a week or so and pain meds and antibiotics. I have to call this week to pay the bill since Dr Daphne didn't know how to run the credit card machine.... :) She told me that she would just have them put it on my account and I could pay next time I came in.....a reminded her where we were heading off to tomorrow and told her that I would call. It is sort of nice to have a vet that trusts you to get the bill paid instead of those emergency vet clinics that demand to see the plastic before they will start treatment. :)

On Facebook the post showed three of the traveling sisters had made it to a rest stop near Hannibal.....but with Herschel navigating we can catch them.....expecting to leave tomorrow morning.

The neighbor's have an electric fence... and three boys under the age of 9.....I am waiting for the call to the life squad for one of the boys.....they run around their property on 4-wheelers without helmets.....

Just hearing the sound of the boys and the machines gets Stuarts attention because he has noticed that when the boys are home and out and about their dog is more likely to be running loose and ends up over here!
