I just want to say Thank You to everyone here. You have no idea how much you have all helped me. Chuck has passed away. His funeral will be on Monday and I cannot believe how hard it is to see him everywhere in our house, but still know that I will never he able to reach out and touch him again. Thanks especially to Deb, Sheila and Mitch. I was not prepared for how quickly this all happened. I had thought I would have much more time with him, but God is good. He allowed Chuck to go quickly and he did not have to suffer anymore. I just selfishly wanted more time.

Big hugs to you, Dawn. Let it all hang out and grieve hard and long while you are able. You did a wonderful last thing for your guy, and I am sure he realized it and loved you with his last breath. I hope you will have friends and family there with you for a bit, while you gather your wits about you and look ahead to things to come. I am so happy to hear that Chuck didn't have to linger and suffer needlessly.

I'm so very sorry, Dawn. I don't think you are ever prepared for the end and you never have enough time. Even tho the Dr. has told you that you have "X" amount of time left, you don't believe it. You just know that something is going to come along at the last minute and save your loved one. And when it really does happen, it's just so unbelievably hard. It's just so final that you can't grasp the enormity of it. We each handle our grief differently and there is no right or wrong way. Just do what you need to do to keep your sanity and make it thru this so difficult time. Hugs flying out to you on Angels wings, and as Tina said, send up a flare if you need something, we're all here for you.

Hugs, Dawn. I know my mom wasn't ready to face life without Dad so soon even though he had been on hospice for 3 months. It's still a shock. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and I'm sending virtual hugs as well.

And you will always carry a part of him with you, and if you believe like so many have expressed in the here-after thread, he may not completely leave you for a long time.
