FREDERICKSBURG/WASHINGTON KOA GTG

Let's get together!

FREDERICKSBURG/WASHINGTON KOA GTG

Postby Nasoosie » Tue May 01, 2012 7:53 am

Might as well make this a formal invite to all anywhere near here who might be able to stop in and visit! Shirley, Irmi, Steve, possibly Paulette, and I will be here from Wednesday, May 9th through Sunday, May 13th. No plans have been made, other than to sit and visit and share tall stories around a campfire as well as whatever food we decide to whip up. It would be fun to have even more, if anyone can make it for any and all the days.

hmmm....I'll give you guys a "maybe" - I'm about 45 mins from this KOA, without traffic, with traffic it could be about 3 hours! I wouldn't able to leave until Friday afternoon which means 95 south is a total disaster and the call of the mountains out west might be to great to ignore... I'll have to see what ultimately happens - might just come down in Sat. I'd like to try and meet some of you great ladies so it's in the running for that weekend...

Are you all "en route" somewhere, or do you live in the area?

Melissa,
I highly recommend you get there for the weekend. It's great to make your first gtg.

As to your question - Soos will be on her way between her winter FL home and her summer NY home. Shirl (and all others) missed the cxl'd get together near Charlotte - and worked with Soos on one that would be possible for both. The others are within a few hours, I believe -

Melissa, as Beth has said, we would LOVE to meet you for however long you can stay! This is not an organized event whatsoever, so just pack up whatever you like and meet us there! We can plan some dinners together, if the spirit moves us, or whatever. I sure hope you can come! I have met Irmi, and I am dying to meet Shirley for the first time, and if Paulette can make it, I would love to meet her. If you decide (and I am urging you to come!!) tell the campground you will be with Shirl, Irmi, and Sue, and see if there is another spot for you right near us. If not, don't worry----no place is too big to find you!

I think I am the only one on my way north from the south for the summer, as all the others live not too far away from there. So it's possible you could get together with them again another time, too! But make this your first, as I would love to meet you!

YIPPEE!!!

Soos, Shirl & Melissa,

How about if I put a porkroast in the crockpot for Wednesday's dinner & I'll prepare pulled pork & make a side of coleslaw? Maybe later in the week we could have hotdogs over the open fire or hamburgers on the grill. I'll prepare baked beans to go with that if that suits everyone. Any other ideas?

Irmi----I am not one to discourage anyone from cooking whatever on earth they would like to cook! Later in the week, I will probably do some cooked out steak and potatoes O'brien----not sure about a veggie. And I'll plan to have recipe ready when I get there!

Steve & I were the first ones to arrive the Fredericksburg KOA followed shortly by Soos. It didn't take long before Shirl showed up. We had pulled pork and coleslaw for dinner followed by sweets and ice cream for dessert. Unfortunately, rain came later in the evening and most of the night, but it looks like we'll have sunshine the rest of the weekend. Pictures will follow shortly.

Rain belongs overnight, wouldn't you say? Sounds like it'll be a great few days - so glad to hear everyone is having fun. And I believe some people are coming to visit, too, right? Enjoy and I'll look forward to all the pics.

Hopefully this link will take to my website where the pics are posted. If not, I will adjust things later, as my fingers are freezing now, and I need to go get more coffee! Be sure to read the morning coffee post I put in for more info and a couple of pics, too!

Loved the pics. Looks like everyone had a great time. Maybe someday I can make these gtg's as I travel around.

Well folks, it is with great disappointment that I let you kow that I doubt I will make the trek to see you all tomorrow. For one thing, it's 3 hours away...

So, y'all have a toast for me and I'll hopefully catch you all out there somewhere someday!
