Orlando Campground - Universal Studios

Postby JudyJB » Wed May 02, 2012 8:12 pm

Any suggestions of a campground not too far from Universal Studios for next winter? Also, without a toad, how can I get to the theme park from a campground without driving?? Maybe a taxi or public transportation of some sort?

Also, any suggestions for state parks in Northern Florida? I have reservations in Fort Clinch, but was thinking of either staying another few nights somewhere else in the northern area or heading up the coach to Hilton Head or somewhere. I'd like some place peaceful, but with wildlife and things to see.

This is my over-planning personality, but I also really don't know much about the northern half of Florida since anytime I have ever visited there, it has been south of Orlando.

Disney has their own campground...fort wilderness I believe. And from there you can take the bus to any of the theme parks. That would be my suggestion.

It's been a long time since I have been to the theme parks but I think it was the MGM that was part of Disney. It looks like they are calling it Disney's Hollywood Studios now. If you stay at Ft Wilderness or any of the Disney Resorts you can travel between the parks on their transportation systems. I think you have to make reservations a long time in advance to get into Ft Wilderness.

I would think that most of the campgrounds and hotels in the area would have some kind of shuttle service. I might find out in June when we go to pick up my grandson.

Thanks. I will be going to Ft WIlderness earlier in the year, but Universal Studios is not connected with Disney World. And it has no campground.

So I guess I will have to start calling campgrounds and ask about shuttles or public transportation.
