GTG @ Cape Disappointment, WA coast.

Marda and I spent all last week at Cape Disappointment SP in Ilwaco, WA. For the most part we had glorious weather! Took many long walks on the beach and even hiked a trail up to the lighthouse which, afterward we found out was labeled as "difficult"! Ended up a ranger going off duty from the lighthouse gave us a ride back to our rigs. What a Godsend!

What a great tour and excellent pictures! I loved it! It's so neat that dogs can go on the beaches out there, as here, in FL, all beaches are off limits to dogs. Hence, I don't visit beaches half as often as I would like to.

wow.. what a great time you guys had with weather to boot!!

The hiking trail looks alittle steep in places... Try Goat falls outta Morton sometime if ya ever get to Taidnapam...LOL So glad the ranger was a good fella and got ya back to camp!!

Looked like a great GTG! The year I went to Alaska, 2006, we stayed in Blaine, Wa waiting for the weather to clear so we could leave. I loved the beach there. There was a storm one night and the next day my sis and I were walking on the beach and I found about 6 large oysters. Now, I knew it was against the law to take them, but they were just gonna lay on the beach (they had washed way up above tide level) and die. I was wearing a loose sweatshirt and somehow those oysters ended up in Hope....sure do love fried oysters! :mrgreen:

Great pictures! And thank heavens for helpful rangers!

I was thinking the same thing about the ranger :D Glad you had a good time, love the WA coast too, sure wish I were there! Thanks for the pictures!
