RABBITS!!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

RABBITS!!!

Postby Nasoosie » Tue May 01, 2012 7:23 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

OK NOW-----how many said RABBITS? ME ME ME ME!!!! Maybe I will get good luck for all of us!

I managed to get my soffits re-screened yesterday, after breaking one staple gun and rushing to get a replacement. Maybe it will take the squirrels a short while to discover how to eat their way through the screening and get back into the attic. If nothing else, it will help to keep out bugs over the summer.

Other than that chore yesterday, and walking the dogs to Shingle Creek, and swimming at the pool, and riding my bike, it was a hot and humid day portending the summer to come soon down here. I did get my check from the oil company yesterday, so I will deposit that this morning and it will help with the cost of gas to get home. Oil for oil seems only fair.

I also got a gallon of 32 dollar Olympic paintandprimer for 10 bucks at Lowes, a pretty green color, which I think I will try out in the bathrooms here----perhaps just on the wooden sink holders---whatcha callits-----vanities. Good quality at a great price for a mistake in someobody's paint color mixing.

Other than a final vacuuming and a final laundry and a final putting out of garbage for a final pickup on Friday morning, I believe I am ready to roll to my trailer in St. Cloud on Friday about noon. My son says he can drive himself to the doc's today, so I am not needed there, and he plans to return to work tomorrow through Friday. So here I will stay and make good use of the pool until it's time to head north. Sigh----mixed feelings about having to leave here, but excited to anticipate spending some time with Orion!

Safe travels to all on the roads.

Soos, don't you have the good life :D half a year in a tropical paradise, half a year in your beautiful Adirondacks and with precious Orion to boot. It sounds like you have shed the anxiety of travel back and forth...isn't it thrilling to meet and conquer challenges head on?
I'm in a beautiful campground in Florence, AL. It is surrounding by the Tn River on one side and a back water lake on the other and it's only 15 dollars per night full hookups, no discount card required. Today I will get up to Nashville and probably spend the night at Camping World getting my AC fixed. I learned at the WK seminar never to plug in an extension cord to the RV plug and run the AC. I have done this at home but never in a campground. I'm afraid I might have fried it but didn't check it out before leaving home. Take heed girls, tho most of you probably know better  The Deer River gtg begins tomorrow so hopefully I will drive on in and with a working AC.

Good Morning...

On my second cup-o-coffee here.. just fed the dog and gonna start my my day soon. Going to lunch with friends today. Its not a bad morning here, so maybe the day will bring alittle blue skys with sunbreaks.

I am headed back down to the beach this coming Sunday.. it didnt look to bad by the forecast. Washington weather is 'never' predictable...LOL even tho it showed totally sunny for the next week, it can change overnite. As i peeked on line this a.m. there were signs of cloudeness :( but will take a few movies with me, and of course my boots.. :) I had other plans for another park, but decided i like the beach better... and it has sewer too... love those amenadies.. (sp)
soos.. those squirrels are cute but such pests.. they destroyed one little feeder i had up for the birds, but i got a squirrel proof one on sale. Havent seen any around for awhile thank goodness.. they pretty well go acouple of houses down where the neighbors keep feeding them. Millie chases them out of the yard anyways.. which is good. They dont bother the house.

Travilina. the park your staying at sound wonderful.. for such a good price too!! I am glad i have my sr discount on our state parks... Did you pick up a generator for your a/c... the extention cord isnt a good idea.. but glad your got your a/c fixed.

Have a good day everyone ..

Good morning all! Enjoy hearing your plans and where you are staying...where you are going...gives me hope that I can be on the road again soon. I called in for sick leave today. Really just need a mental health day and I have tons of sick leave after all these years so might as well use some of it. Its true that men won't ask questions...my male supervisor is likely afraid of strange gynecological problems etc! :) . Actually they are very good and never ask what the problem is. I took Steve's truck over to where he is doing some plowing and helped him get some of his equipment over there. Now I'm home to do a bit of cleaning and go through some pictures that I have been meaning to sort out.

We have summer camping plans made and now planning for fall...a week in Rockport. We have about decided on an place to stay with our 5W. If anyone has any recommendations be glad to hear them.

Hope all have a safe day and enjoy it! (I have no idea what 'rabbits' is about?? something to do with May 1st maybe....)

Soos, I think I would get a live trap and relocate some of those squirrels. With all our cats we don't have to worry about squirrels. I will see one every once in a while but they don't hang around. I had to laugh yesterday with your staple gun puzzle. My son took a shot gun apart one time and I had to bring it to a gun shop to get it back together.

Nancy, while you are at Camping World you need to get one of the little AC Voltage Meters(Camping World #29375)if you don't have one. You plug it into an outlet inside and it shows if you are getting enough electricity to run things. If the needle drops out of the green safe area you need to turn off the air conditioner. I have been in quite a few parks where I didn't get enough electricity at different times during the day. If it's in the 90's and everyone is running their air conditioners it gets kind of iffy.

I need to go to town. I managed to put it off yesterday, will see if I can get on the road today. My DH sent for some chemical to spray for the wood bees. I want to get out of here before he gets me involved in that.

Relocating squirrels doesn't usually work. More squirrels just move in to replace them anyways. Just need to find a way to discourage them.

Forgot to say "rabbits" this morning! For the newbies on here, saying "rabbits" first thing when you wake up, on the first day of the month, is for good luck all month.

Gotta get ready for work here. These 9 hour days are killing me! Just two more to go before leaving for MN! Yay!
The gal who showed up drunk for work the other day, called in yesterday saying she was in the hospital and very sick, so not sure what is going on there, but it left us very short-handed for awhile. They sure are having problems with employees there lately! Who knows what I will come back to after being gone for a week!

I will be taking my netbook with me so will be able to keep up on here and keep my e-mails under control!

Take care and have a great day!

Finally home after almost 2 weeks gone. I had a great visit with Beth in Why, Az, home for a day to reload and then took off for Laughlin, Nv for the annual River Run, a bike thing. Beth was such a great hostess and showed Evie (Pooker) and I a great time. No wifi or 3G in Ft. Mojave where I stayed even tho the Verizon map showed the whole area as having it. The wifi there sucked, half the time couldn't get on and when I could couldn't get pages to load. Mojave Broadband has the monopoly on service there and everyone in the park must have been streaming movies and tv. Across the river in Laughlin there was about 5000 bikers and all of them must have had Verizon so the system was mega overloaded. Very frustrating week for me trying to stay in touch. But, had a blast! We did some great rides...Oatman to Kingman...Laughlin to Havasu....Laughlin to Hoover Dam and into Vegas. Took a day to go thru the vendors and didn't buy a thing. I'm so good! Only cooked 2 nites, the rest of the time the BF took me out. And of course there was a lot of pool and hot tub time in the evenings. Needed it to soak my poor backie after hours on the bike! He didn't bring the comfy one. Weather was perfect, but today at home we have the on shore flow, so foggy, cool and damp this morning. Supposed to have sunshine and 73 around 1, but it's gonna have to get busy if we're gonna get it. Nothing else exciting here for a while, Dr's appts Thurs and Fri and a couple more next week. I have free rooms in Laughlin this month, so may get a hold of Evie and see if she wants to go for a couple of days. I'd like to check out some more rv parks for next year and I need to go check my property there and see if it needs weed abatement. Also need to go check out rv parks in the San Diego area for the annual Grand Girls week with Grandma. Hope everyone has a great day, an awesome week and travel safe!

Sharon, you were in our 2003-05 neck of the woods! I so remember the bikers' weekend, it was great. We developed a property, built a home in Ft. Mojave, on Aztec (east of the 95 at the Safeway/Smiths/McDonalds corner) so we were close to the Avi, the Laughlin strip, Bullhead City etc.. couldn't take the summers so we sold the house and moved to Oregon. Your posting brought back memories, thanks! there were some good times and I would like to go back for a visit someday.

Hey Mary, glad I could be of service! Stayed at an rv park just south of your junction, Snowbird rv resort...and I use the term resort extremely loosely!! But since the Riverside charges 60 per nite for bike week for Thurs-Sat and Needles Marina where we used to stay is up to 50 a nite when you factor in 5 a nite for A/C and 5 a nite for EACH dog (we have 3 between us) the Snowbird is a bargain at 157 a week. We just don't like it there. We go on Tues and stay until Mon so it can get pricey.

My late husband and I bought a lot even further south off King St a few years before he passed. We planned to retire there. It was perfect for us...river access for the boat and we knew a few people in the jeep club in Bullhead. Plus a lot of our friends from our jeep club had places in the area. Just about the time we were looking at mobiles to put on it, he was diagnosed with cancer. So that was that. Now it's for sale, but of course nothing's really moving in that area. I'll sit on it before I'll give it away.

Yup, I love the Laughlin area and go there often.
