New to forum: Hello from western Oregon

Postby oregonrambler1 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 1:32 pm

Hi, I'm Paulette, my partner is Mary. We've been camping / trailering / motorhoming since 1978 together. We are currently retired and own a Holiday Rambler Cls A 30' with 2 slides and love it. We joined RV'ing Women in 1999 and it is one of the best clubs we've joined over the years. In fact some have come and gone but that one sticks. I'm delighted to find this forum and even though I consider ourselves "experienced" RV'ers there is always more to learn. Our stick 'n brick address is in Sutherlin, Oregon and the road is our address during the northwest dreary winter months. TTYS :D

Hi and Welcome, Paulette and Mary. Glad to have you with us.

To post pics, go to our Maintenance Room and there are a couple "stickies" - topics at the top always - about a few different way to post pics (as we like them hosted elsewhere. And if you have any trouble, there's always posting to those. Someone will jump on to help you out.

I'll be spending time in OR in the winter - yikes - don't know why I did that - but have several friends there and it just seems the only time I'll get there this coming year. Will probably be kicking myself hard when I drive out mid-Jan - but will quickly then head for south and dry and sun.

Welcome to the forum. So glad that you found us. Experience and good stories always come in handy. :) There is an increasing number of members out on the left coast. And many of us will eventually wander out that way to visit that part of our beautiful country.

Thanks everyone. @Karen, we live in Sutherlin -just up the freeway from you. In the summer we try to attend the monthly RVW rallies, then sometime after Thanksgiving we head south for visiting and travel.

Welcome from another Paulette! Not too many of us out there...I'm on the other coast, but hope to meet up sometime out there. Right now I'm still pinned to a sticks and bricks as I'm raising my granddaughter. She has 5 more years of school before I can send her off to college and hit the road!

@Paulette .. I agree, there aren't too many of us. Counting you I've met 3 in my lifetime so far :D We still have a stick & brick house too, always will. We love gardening so we grow in the spring/summer/early fall and head south in the winter. We do a lot of canning, dehydrating and freezing of our bounty too so we'll always have a productive home base but we love spending time away in the Admiral. Take care and happy trails!

Hi Paulette and Mary. Welcome. I'm in CA and also have a Holiday Rambler - NeptuneXL which hasn't been out of storage much except for local outings but need to use it more!! Enjoy your travels. I think there's going to be a gathering in OR later this year.

Welcome Paulette and Mary, Wow, all you Oregon gals. I think there's talk of a GTG in Oregon in late summer. I have a daughter in WA but so far my visits are by air but I'm really wanting to make the trip maybe this summer. Sounds like you two have a well planned life doing what you love to do...I'm an Arkie and grew up with gardens and canning...I've done a little of it but since the kitchen is a place I like only occasionally it's not in my lifestyle. Keep us posted and send pics.

Welcome Paulette and Mary! I've never been to Oregon but would love to see it someday. Gardening in spring and summer and travel in the winter! sounds like a great combination!
