Thursday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 19, 2012 6:01 am

Hi Everybody,

One tired and kind of sore body checking in this morning. Been doing a bit of shoveling and cleaning up of leaves etc. that have dirt mixed in with them, therefore heavy. Also was working with the hand blower yesterday along and on top of a hill which required a bit of balancing especially on the slope. I have to admit, that although I am still feeling young at heart and all that, I'm heading for my mide 60's, and I don't have the strength to do some of that heavy stuff anymorre, even here at home. Will probably come a day when, if I am still doing work at a park, I won't start till later in the spring after all the heavier work is done. Who knows. But today we will carry on. One thing is, unfortunately our large leaf blowers are dying one by one and we need some new ones. So that is compounding the problem this spring as well. However desspite that we are making progress and it looks like we may open our South Campground earlier than originally planned, like tomorrow.

But I only have one more day to work and the weekend will be here. Hard to believe that I have been working two weeks already. And I don't have anything planned for this weekend, so it's mine to do whatever I want. I will probably take off someplace for a day or part of one anyway. Next weekend I have company and we will probably do something then as well. It's my friend Brenda whom I was up to the U.P. over Thanksgiving with. She is coming up for a Camp Host training that the state conducts every year. Will be staying about a half hour down the road from me, where the training will be conducted and then come here on Thursday. I have a feeling that it could be my last free weekend as once we open that campground and get the toilet/shower building open next weekend, I will probably start working weekends. actually, I am looking forward to have some days off during the week so I can do some personal business etc. like head to my chiropractor and get a "tune up". And get my hair cut etc.

Kathleen, hope you are feeling better and are able to get on the road pretty soon.

Time to be off and getting ready for work here, have a nice day all :)

Sue -sounds like y'all are making great progress. I'm thinking more and more that I'm going to take a week this summer and head back to MI - fly in and check out all the places we want to visit as part of the reunion next year and get some ideas for activities. Planning activities for 4 generations of my family is something akin to herding cats - people scatter in all directions!

It's gorgeous here and I'm going to be stuck inside through it all - work today and tomorrow, then working a HAM radio net for the MS 150 bike ride. This will be my 6th or 7th year working it. I get the medical net, so pray for me being bored!

My heart breaks for my friend with breast cancer. It has metastasized into her spine. She is so positive that she's going to beat this which is a good thing. But I also know from my sister that once it's metastasized, the hope is to control it not cure it. But I'm not telling her that. I want her to fight. Who knows, miracles happen every day.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Have spent the pas day and a half in Johnson City at the sons apartment. We wen up for a visit and for him to work on the truck. He and a couple of the other guys put their heads together and put in a new IAC valve, which stand for 'intake air control'. Drove it and it ran so good, no more chugging or bucking. YAY!! Then yesterday afternoon it started chugging and bucking again. ARRRHHHGGG!!! :x :x So it's back to the drawing board on that problem. Sneaky son bought 4 new tires for the truck. Had me pull in to the shop and I just thought he was gonna tinker with the motor again but nooooo. Out came the tires, could have shot him and he refused to return the tires. But now we have found out that the ball joints on the truck need to be replaced! Dang it!!!! If it's not one thing it's another. He bought the parts and was gonna put them on yesterday when he was done with work but the parts place sent the wrong ones. So he has them on order and will return the wrong ones. Next time we go up he will fix that problem. I am paying for the parts. We also, all three of us have gotten new phones. David needed one badly. But Sprint was having a sale and we were all due an upgrade so we've now got iphones. The girl at Sprint really worked hard and found us some really good discounts so while there was some money to be paid on the new phones it wasn't as bad as it would have been. Told David that if this was gonna keep happening that Kelly and I would have to stay out on the road working and not come home cause none of us could afford this each time we came home!!!

While up with the son I swung into Best Buy to take the laptop into Geek Squad. The guy who checked it out said that his best guess on having so much problem loading pages was because the internal wireless card was going to he77. So had to buy a usb wireless adapter. Last night when we got home guess what? Yep! I could not get online. Now you talk about being angry!!!! I was so ready to go back to Johnson City and get evil on that guys butt!!! The only thing that saved his life is when Kelly told me that she couldn't get online with her laptop because the signal was so bad!!! When I got up this morn and saw that she was on her laptop I gave mine a try and here 'me' is! :D

OK, enough flapping my fingers I'm gonna go do a little reading and catching up. Hope everyone has a awesome day and that they do so safely!!! For anyone having problems too I hope things get better for ya and I will be sure to put my Sistahs in my prayers.

Love to all

ps. after this weekend and spending the money? it has reinforced my statement that i must become rich somehow!!! don't want or need to be famous or beautiful, just rich!!!

Sue, Glad you're getting the weekend off and spending time with your friend. Take care of yourself too with all that hard work you've been doing.

Echo, it's great that your son helps you. You will love your iPhones.

Not sure how today is going to go. Chuck says he is not feeling good this morning and he has a lot of congestion. His Pulseox stayed up enough through the night that I did not have to give him oxygen early this morning like I normally have to around 4 am. His Pulsox is a little low this morning but not alarming. Going to watch it close today. Maybe his breathing treatments will help with the congestion.

Going to get my second cup of coffee. Have a wonderful day, ladies.

Morning!
Drippy day here, but what's new? We have set/broken so many rain records I quit paying attention.

I have been to two hairdressers 3xs this week. First gal didn't cut it well and I went back to have her fix it. Thought it was ok till I tried styling it myself. Yesterday I went to another shop and she seemed to know what the problem was and we thought it was fixed, but after I got home and tried styling it, the problem is still there, only with shorter hair! So it seems I'm stuck with this cut until it grows out some. Then back to square one. They say 'the difference between a good haircut and a bad one is 2 wks'. We'll see if in 2 wks I like it any better.

Getting "stuff" together for the trip to the coast, leaving Sunday. Sure hope Mother Nature co-operates and sends some sun. Gotta pick up some extra 9v batteries for my metal detector. Gonna scan the beaches for any tsumani debris. Also looking forward to some hiking.

Hope Kathleen makes good time and can get home soon. Not fun being on the road when not feeling well.
Echo, sorry your truck is still nickel and diming you to tears, but happy you have David and his friends for support. You'll love those iPhones, too.
Sue, I can attest to the getting older and losing strength. It all kinda hit me the other day that my body is crapping out on me in certain areas. Makes me rethink some things in my life.
Dawn, hope you get the meds straightened out and Chuck is restful. Praying for your mental and physical strength.

Good morning ladies!

It is a beautiful sunny, breezy day in San Diego! They are mowing the grass here at the complex this morning. Normally I love the smell of freshly mowed grass, but here it smells more like freshly mowed doggy do-do  . Not a good smell

Gotta go to work this afternoon. I have been working with Sam, the adorable guy who thinks I'm hot! ;) (He will turn 31 next week!). I put in a request to move back to the old shop, so will see what happens with that.

Only two weeks to go before I leave for Minnesota! Yay! Hopefully the weather will be decent there. Have several friends and relatives to meet up with there, as well as my daughter, of course, so I am really looking forward to it!

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I'm still getting over my 1,000 mile trip to Texas and back. My shoulder, leg and hip still hurt. I use to be able to drive 400 to 500 miles but it's sure getting harder.

Our weather is beautiful today but it's suppose to rain and be in the 60's on Saturday. That will be a change. I would like to go fishing this weekend but I'm invited to a crawfish boil. Fishing or crawfish boil, hard choice.

Yesterday afternoon I went to Lafayette with my friend. We ate at a new mexican restaurant. This one also served sushi. I have never seen that before. The food was good but we kept hoping the Mariachi Band wouldn't come to our table.

Well I missed morning again but it has been a pretty weather day here and I have succeeded in wasting it.

Local strawberries have been available for about 10 days (earlier than normal) and they are so good. My little basket is almost empty so will have to get out tomorrow for more.

Got the refund from RV Classes that were cancelled. Need to get in bank. Might use some of it for a few extra days on TN trip next month since I won't be going on to KY for classes.

Will be getting another refund but not likely before June or July. This one from Uncle Sam. Between the tornados, robbery and general state of the economy I will be getting almost everything I had withheld last year back. Some of that will likely go toward a back up camera for Magic.
