Where's Liz? Sante Fe and Silver Rivers, FL

Just biding my time while in Florida. Nan and I tried out the kayaks on the Sante Fe River. I'm camping in Ocala at Silver River this week.

Everything's working now. It was a 12V breaker that tripped....not sure why. Will test it all out again next week. I know where that breaker is and how to reset it now. Also have a spare one with me.

Good to have you posting again, Liz. You have been missed.
Enjoyed your 'walkabout'! Every time I see pictures of FL. I get transported to old favorite
movies like The Yearling and the biopic of MK Rawlings.

As always love your pictures and comments...the sweet gum ball reminded me of my youth. My favorite climbing tree was a Sweet Gum. I had a treehouse, would climb into it, eat a molasses sandwich, make a gumball necklace (ouch! kind of hurt my almost bare chest) and then chewed me some gum. Those were the days. My husband and I bought a house with a good climbing tree for the kids and they couldn't have cared less, rather ride bikes and play ball, but at least they weren't in front of a TV after Captain Kangaroo was over.

I enjoyed seeing you all in your Kayaks, and realized I am the only one on the Ak. trip that won't have one. UUmmm!!!! Guess Maggie and I, will be finding some thing else to do :D , when you described the reason you hadn't had yours out before this, I knew there was a good reason, I haven't thought of getting one,

I always love to see the pix of Fl. , the foliage you name and have such good pictures of, are so interesting and to think I lived there 50 yrs. and saw most of this all of the time and loved it, and now I REALLY see it. Thanks Liz,

CArol :)

Liz, should we let CArol know that I have two kayaks 8-) and would be more than happy to pack my Advance Frame (like Nan's) along and she can tote it around the hills of Canada and Alaska in her rig! :D I was hoping to be able to pack my Sea Eagle in a large plastic tote fastened tightly to the rack on the hitch on back? It paddles easier than the Sea Eagle but the Sea Eagle is like a mountain bike...it can do it all ...even if anyone wants white water? I don't want to leave anyone on the bank capable to take pictures of me as I fall into or out of the water/kayak. Grace NOT being my middle name....

That did cross my mind, because when she sees how much fun we're having she'll wish she had one too. And I know she's game for most any adventure we can conjure up.

I was told on all adventures one person was appointed picture taker and didn't stop for any reason. They missed the best pictures of me and the pontoon bike because everyone ran out to help... :( But be sure one person continues when we are on the water to take pictures....You never, ever know what will happen. My getting in and out of the kayak is a kodak moment. Especially the getting out. So grab that kayak Carol and join in the fun...

Hey Nan, lookin' good, girl friend. That kayak looks great on you.

Liz the prothonatary warbler is a beauty. Looks like migration is progressing nicely on the east coast. Great shot of the swimming commorant too. Well, okay they were all great shots of great subjects....as usual.
